Do you think that GTA 6 is going meet your expectations?

Mine are pretty in check.

GTAO took off and I expect the part of GTA6 that I'm interested in (the single play) to suffer because of that.

I have no expectations. I don't plan to buy it until it's around £30, so that'll be in around 8 years. 😅I've been "gta'd", out for a number of years with no desire to make it my main game in anyway shape or form.

Also 60fps Ps5 Pro/Pc only I'm betting.

Haven't had expectations on GTA since 2001, when GTA3 was such a massive disappointment after all that hype, I never wanted anything to do with the IP again.

It'll be fun to watch how many passes the game will get for its shortcomings, and what names whoever raises the slightest critique at it will be called.

Of course not. People that believe that don't understand game development, and haven't learned anything in the last 20 years. But that doesn't mean that what will be in the game isn't gonna be impressive.
Although i agree with the pessimism because it really look a couple of gen better than what we have, many, many people say that rockstar almost never downgraded its trailers...

And if there is one dev that has a chance, is the one with infinite man power, time and 2 billions budget...

I expect absolutely zero player freedom when it comes to how you do a mission outside of free roam.
I want to be very wrong because it's their biggest weakness in how they design games.

So, partly no.

I have very low expectations as RDR2 was such an awful game and GTA5 was very mediocre as well.

so, I assume it can reach my expectation, but that's not hard tbh.
basically, if it is a mediocrely designed game with a decently designed open world, it reached my expectations.

It certainly will meet mine, that's for sure.
More of the same misanthropic slop, raking in more stupid millions and driving more and more studios to emulate its drivel-tastic, no-taste tactless "style". The last 10 years on repeat.

My issue with modern R* game design is they both want to make sandbox game and linear uncharted style story driven game at same time, but those design crash with each other hard.

Back in PS2 GTA they give you simple mission to kill this person but you had total freedom how you go about killing that person, to me that's what sandbox game is all about.

yup. GTA3 told you that there's a guy you need to kill, and then you did that the way you thought would work the best. oh, he's in a car? maybe find a spot where you can snipe him out of it... etc.

in modern Rockstar games you get a fucking game over because you dared to cross an invisible line the devs arbitrarily put there.

it's way too jarring... and then there's the whole issue of how absolutely awful the controls are due to an absolute gobsmackingly high amount of animation priority and reliance on an animation AI that was never originally designed to be implement on playable characters.

With that amount time, budget and pedigree I'm expecting one of the most impressive and awe-inspiring products ever released, not just videogame. So good luck to them lol.

Oh wow I loved GTA3 - it changed the game for all sandbox games for me.

I like GTA VI is going to take it to the next level. High hopes.

Rockstar always exceeds expectations. They are spending the time so I'm expecting a mind blowing product. I also expect them to meet that with all the time and resources they've used. Can't wait for May.

Just imagine driving a FWD on the beach and just careening into ALL THOSE PEOPLE while Daft Punk blasts over the radio.

I remember when i played the first game where you could run over people with a car that had ragdoll tech, saint row 1, good times.

next gen euphoria should bring the spectacle to a whole new level, if rockstar doesn't fuck up.

Surely it will.
What i need to hold expectations is the Online. Expecting it to become what GTAOnline is today off the bat is unreasonable- Online sucked for a while and was unstable. Hopped online after we moved to PS4 and it continued to expand to what it is today. Im hoping the gap is alot smaller this time at launch. Hopefully no money glitches early to not completely fuck the economy.

That is true, but check the trailer another time, and pay attention to the extreme amount of custom animations on the beach. Not only is this amount crazy, they're also ridiculously realistic, while also having this many npc's at once. Of all the devs out there, Rockstar is the one that has the highest chance of doing it, but at the same time, i just don't see why they would. It's just too damn much. And that was just the beach section, so you'd assume the rest of the game has as much attention in custom animations, which makes the whole thing completely ridiculous. It's just too much.

The world and gameplay will be amazing, but I think the story may be questionable (I hope not). I mean RDR2 was amazing, but are they still the same rockstar? I know their programmers must be, because the game trailers looked crazy good in regards to graphics and a more realistic looking world.
