it was originally used in ROTJ and can be seen when the Falcon comes out of hyperspace for the Death Star assault.Isn't that light-speed jump effect the same warp-speed effect he used on the Enterprise in Star Trek Into Darkness?
What does the voice say at 1:03?
Joke
Your head
So he made Star Trek once again more like Star Wars *g*it was originally used in ROTJ and can be seen when the Falcon comes out of hyperspace for the Death Star assault.
Poe's Law, baby! The irony of this post.

The only reasoning behind Lukes MIA in the trailer has be Luke having some relation to Kylo Ren. It's likely gonna be a big twist.
I don't know. I could see a scenario where Han and Leia have a child, Luke attempts to train him but he ends up turning to the dark side, becomes obsessed with Vader and turns on Luke and any other Jedi he may have trained. It sounds relatively plausible. Pure speculation though.
Even if he did have a relation to Kylo Ren why would that preclude them from showing Luke in the trailer?
Any shot of Luke would likely reveal a plot point that are not yet ready to reveal. Seeing as how Luke is/was the most powerful Jedi, his storyline is tied directly to Kylo Ren.
I don't get it. How would showing his face reveal a plot point?
Luke grew a beard and beards are actually the secret to a Jedi's power
Only Dooku understood this

I already miss Christopher Lee. God damn it.
I've watched this thing like 20 times and the moment that han/leia theme kicks in gives me chills every time

ILM works on Star Trek too so it's not overly surprising that the warp effects look similar.

Seems more like Abrams took that and used it for Star Trek rather than the other way around. We've just never seen it from outside the cockpit before.
Fuck the prequels
Isn't that light-speed jump effect the same warp-speed effect he used on the Enterprise in Star Trek Into Darkness?
No. Aside from the angle it was being shot, it was visually all Star Wars.

When I was a kid I assumed the way to tell if a Jedi was powerful was if they grew a beard and wore the most uncomfortable wool robe imaginable
Which is why Vader was so confusing to me
Imagine if Obi Wan had revealed this secret and Anakin and Palpatine grew beards
Star Wars: The Force Awakens |OT| All of it is true except the prequels

Are any theatres doing a marathon of 4-5-6 and then showing 7 right after?
That would be awesome
