I wonder if anything in this trilogy will reach the perfection of this moment.

That looks incredibly sloppy, look at their feet. Totally off-balance

Anyone know when the soundtrack is going to come out? I really like the music from the trailer, and would love to hear the entire score.

I doubt it will be more perfect than the ROTJ duel, but I really like how this scene in the trailer is filmed from behind one of the fighters, instead of sideways:

Crap, I don't know the black guys name but I love his fucking reaction!

First glimpse

I'm ready son! Come at me!

His reaction from behind the sith.

"Shit! He's not dicking around!" My body isn't ready.

Then he motions backwards

Very intrigued to see how the fights are shot, quick cuts? continuous? flashy?

I think most can agree the reason Empires fight is so perfect is the mixture of emotion, simplicity and story, the story reads through the fight and the fight in itself is a story.

Vader gains respect for Luke in the story, theres a whole narrative there where he uses one hand disrespectfully and once he realises Luke is a fighter, he wont give in, he engages him as an equal, defeats him but offers him a chance to join his side.

I don't know if this movie is gonna be any good.

I only know that the Throne Room theme is godly, as is the dramatic rendition used in this trailer. Fuck, John Williams knows how to hype people up!

Great scene indeed, and a favorite as a kid. No where near as effective without the score, though. William's incredible score is what adds a great deal of emotional depth to so many scenes.

the trailer has 30 million views in 3 days. I said wow.

interestingly, the moment I got choked up was the very last part after she says "just let it in".

I was born in 77, I am not a huge SW fan but this is my childhood. it's hard to not get nostalgic

Best part of that fight is after Vader throws all that shit at Luke and he flies out the window, next time he sees him Vader: "All right enough of this shit" And starts wailing on Luke.

I hate to always quote Plinkett, but the fact that you can actually see the fight changing based on the characters is so much more interesting than just choreography. Every single prequel fight is just a series of movements until someone wins. You never see fear, confidence, anger, or any other emotions in any of the fighting styles.

Boyega's reaction alone gives me hope that the new trilogy will go back to the old ways.

This one moment is more engaging than any in all of the prequel fights, so I'm optimistic. The OT fights are about way more than swinging lightsabers, and the emotion on display coupled with what looks like a good character arc have me hopeful the new film understand this.

I think it's from two different points in the fight as the blue lightsaber is extending in both shots, but still.

Yeah, I'm guessing Kylo sends Finn and the lightsaber flying at some point. The second part's after he gets up again.

Well there is a direct change in his tone in the two images, the first he is clearly confident, holding the lightsaber high up, its not a defensive pose either, the second one he is petrified. We also know that Kylo comes into the fight with his helmet on per the very first teaser where hes limping through the forrest.

We already have a narrative where "something" has changed to make Finn go from confident to scared and Kylo from Helmet to uncovered, theres already some raw emotion there, which is great to see.

All I can say is that Kylo Ren is bad ass and he better not be a Darth Maul and have minimal screen time and die at the end in a cheesy fashion.

It's great to have people actually reacting to things in front of them and not shit like this:

Obi wan jumping down into a couple hundred droids armed with no backup is one of the most stupid things in the prequels, its out of character, its contrary to advice he has given before.

Im sure someone will say "Oh he read Grievous mind and knew he wouldnt have him killed"

Oh...so he knew the intentions of everything down there, every thing that could have killed him...right.

He's on all the merchandise. I think it's very unlikely. I have a feeling General Hux will be the one stop villain. Hopefully he isn't because Domhnall Gleeson's great. They might have to make room for Benicio Del Toro in VIII though..

Kylo will live to Episode VIII at a minimum. He is probably the big twist mirroring
"No I am your XXXX"
Will be interesting if he will be the character that will be allowed redemption or if Rey is at one point playing with the fire of the dark side and then returning from the brink.
