God damn that thing looks lethal.

Googled and found another image. Apparently it's called The Finalizer.

Do you think we'll get some flashbacks which take place between RoTJ and TFA ?
Few short shots of space battles or simply battle on Jakku or others planets

We can suppose if Han Solo or another character tell stories to Poe/Finn/Rey about how it was before the First Order

That would be a first for the saga

Not sure if this has been posted but someone edited out all the sounds/voices from the trailer to just leave the music.

Yeah, got posted yesterday. Nobody edited out the voices, they just stripped the audio from a dialog-free trailer Disneyland's facebook posted and then normalized it.

Also, none of that music will likely appear on the soundtrack as it does in the trailer. It's up in the air as to whether the chord progression at the beginning that leads into Han Solo & the Princess is a new theme/motif, or if it's just something the trailer music people came up with on their own.

I thought George Lucas's rejected ideas made it to the internet in very brief form?

"[Abrams] said Lucas’s treatment had centered on very young characters—teenagers, Lucasfilm told me—which might have struck Disney executives as veering too close for comfort to The Phantom Menace and its 9-year-old Anakin Skywalker and 13-year-old Queen Amidala. “We’ve made some departures” from Lucas’s ideas, Kennedy conceded, but only in “exactly the way you would in any development process."

Disney did the right thing. Instead of putting Lucas's ideas in charge, they went with a talented fresh crew of young directors.

I thought the young cast was Arndt's idea. Interesting.

"Han I haven't seen Luke in almost 30 years"

PLOT TWIST

Luke is a Knight of the Ren's Table.

Would be something if thats Lukes first attempt at reforming the Jedi and it utterly backfired

Not sure if Luke should play such a central character in the incoming trilogy.

Bridge character id wager, getting them from the start to the main story, re: Obi Wan

This is a cool idea. He tried to teach them the lesson of the fall of Anakin, but they took something else away from it altogether.

I honestly dont think it will happen but would be cool

Need an explanation why he is in exile damnit!

Not sure if Luke should play such a central character in the incoming trilogy.

He kind of has to by default, as he is literally the last/only living person as of the end of ROTJ to carry on the legacy of the Jedi and overall knowledge of and experience with the force.
At the very least he needs to be involved as a catalyst for the new main characters' journeys into jedi/force stuff.

I mean how does one accidentally found a dark Jedi order?
A group of naive, weak minded individuals who, whilst eager, probably just want to get their hands on a lightsaber. Luke preaches peace because there should be no more need for violence now the Sith are gone, but Kylo Ren turns them against him?

Yeah Luke wouldnt talk bad about Vader. So this would actually make sense. He wants to revive the Jedi and teaches a few kids a few things. Next they want to know about Vader. He tells them the whole thing. They look up to Vader as their Idol. End up on the Dark Side. Form the Knights of Ren. Shit hits the fan.

The jedi order in the prequels did a good job of turning Anakin/Dookoo to the other side :o
Don't know about Dooku, what doesn't turn Anakin to the dark side? He's such an unlikeable piece of shit in the prequels.

Sounds like weak EU material.

There is another...

R2-D2 witnessed all of Luke's training by Yoda on Dagobah :p Hell, being a droid he could have recorded all that shit in his memory banks.

That's silly, the central character in the preceding events in relation to Vader and Palpatine would not be somehow part of events after?

That's just silly.

There is a galaxy between central character of a story and "not be somehow part of the events".

I'm mean you should know it as our silliness expert.

Trailer got me thinking, is there another movie franchise with such a widely recongisable and consistently high quality musical score as the Star Wars films? Hell, Williams was arguably the best things about the prequels (Duel of the Fates/Battle of the Heroes)

I can just think of other John Williams movies... Jaws for example.

Indiana Jones? I mean I think the Star Wars music is better overall but Indy's films have some fantastic music. Though I do love like 90% of what Williams does.

Lord of the Rings? Indiana Jones? Jurassic Park? Back to the Future? Harry Potter? Crazy that John Williams worked on 3 of those 5 franchises I listed.

yep, Factor 5 would have finally been able to make a new one had they been able to survive until now...

Even if Factor 5 were still around they probably wouldn't be able to make it tbh. Disney is only in bed with EA for Star Wars games. (The Old Republic, Battlefront, Visceral Project)
