Do we even know what the part really is yet? All we know is he's supposed to be an ex-Stormtrooper and he fits in their armor. So far, he seems to look alright to me.
As much as I'd love to see a remastered version of the unaltered trilogy officially released, I'd be really interested in seeing what Disney would do with a special edition they'd specifically supervise. Lucas seemed to have fix certain things, but not others.
I mostly just want technical fixes, really. The lightsaber blade throughout the trilogy is probably what needs fixing the most.

Stormtrooper unhappy with his job who is supposedly force sensitive and wields a lightsaber. Basically Luke minus the Stormtrooper job.
The dude's waist looks pretty big and he's has kind of a big ass. I first noticed this when he walked on stage for the SDCC panel.

You know, I wouldn't have had a problem with the Midichlorians thing had they just been a symbiotic parasite of sorts that was attracted to force wielders instead of the source of them being sensitive to it.
I'm talking about the movies here. Plenty of goofy dumb shit went on in EU (and prequels lol). This isn't EU.

Your opinion on Boyega's appropriateness is based off the idea that he does not fit in the mold of jedi as you see it. When you are presented with the fact that literally anything or anyone can be a jedi you dismiss it as being EU or prequel shit. However Yoda predates all the goofy shit, so you're argument is invalid at least in regards to Boyega's appearance. Do you want to make the argument that Yoda isn't super goofy in Empire? Because being different from ones expectations was his entire thing.
