Sony : Paris Games Week press conference dated

I really can't help but feel like they've got more up their sleeve than a mere DriveClub season 2 announcement. Call it a hunch, but it feels like there's something bigger in the works.

I don't know man, they did have to cut off 50% of their studio after Driveclub was released. Haven't been following if they have been re-hiring though.

He is going to be in Paris with Nolan North, at the same time as a Sony press conference which is certain to feature Uncharted. I don't think it is to big a jump for me to guess there will be some story stuff shown, and he will be doing interviews about that. There are no events/panels in Paris as far as I am aware this week that would feature the likes of Nolan/Troy.

Edit: What am I saying! His tweet even says he is there for PGW

Yes, they can have panels at Paris Games Week together about Uncharted 4, did you think him & Nolan North were going to be on stage or something? PGW is a gaming convention that happens to have a press conference.

Today we've the first reveal from Housemarque:

Is this going to be the Eugene Jarvis collaboration, or is it going to be their other game?

Even if they had been working on something in a secret underground lab since the DC clusterfuck with allegedly fired personnel, I don't think they'd already have something substantial to show off anyway...so my only hope is DC season 2 and maybe, maybe a Motorstorm Remakollection.

SSVR or ResogunVR + Alienation + Eugene Jarvis.

The schmup fan in me feels on the the edge of heaven.

Wow, that sounds absolutely plausible...don't know if my brain/eyes could handle all them particles flying around in VR, but I'm sure gonna try it ;)

Wait, people actually want this game sent out to die as the Halo 5 hype train steamrolls everything in site?

Are people losing their fucking minds???

NMS is on Playstation, Halo is on Xbox. If you think NMS would be sent out to die because Halo 5 is coming out on a completely different system.....LOL

Halo 5 hype will die down anyways because Black Ops 3 comes out next week and will likely be leaked this week.

I know it is a convention. Sorry, by events/panels I meant Metrocon type things centred around the actors. If they are to be there for Uncharted 4 reasons wouldn't that imply that new story stuff will be shown at the conference, otherwise there wouldn't be much to talk about.

Nolan will voice announcer in MP :p

I'm not. If I actually believed it I would have made a thread. Posting it here at least gives a heads up so people know where the release chatter might be coming from.

I guess Sean technically gets away with saying "it is not releasing Oct. 27" if they actually release it later in the week, but I don't see why he would have made all those tweets earlier today had they planned a release for this week. He said something like "we are very hard at work on the game" and "we want it to be the best it can be" so it sounds like it's not coming out for a long time, imo.

WipeOut VR needs to happen

It makes too much sense

Just to play devil's advocate, and to curb my hype boner, I don't actually know if that does make sense. Cockpit view in WipEout already leaves a lot to be desired, and so isn't in modern installments, plus isn't really a viable option for racing competitively nor particularly enjoyable for a sense of speed. 3rd person is what you want, and WipEout has got to be the racer least needing of a right-stick-camera-turning function, so there's no application for the VR gimmick in that sense, and that's how Sony has typically featured the franchise: as a vector for introducing gimmicks/launching hardware (I know, I know).

People WANT gimmicks and a tangible reason as to why VR would benefit a game, WipEout simply, unfortunately, isn't that game. I'm sure it WOULD look kickass, but Sony would only resurrect the series to shoehorn unproven stuff in if it had a chance of successfully introducing said gimmick into market.

TL;DR: WipEout isn't what people think they want out of VR, won't happen. But would be awesome.

I guess you could be right. It would work better as some kind of roller-coaster type tech demo.

I'd still take that though!

Not Rollcage VR?

Rollcage is superior to WipEout sure, but I'm trying to be a realist here! The Rollcage dream is dead, especially after that Grip Kickstarter project crashed and burned. That's just going to give the execs even less incentive to invest in anything Rollcage-related, now that they see the demand just isn't there.
