Sony : Paris Games Week press conference dated

I know it is a convention. Sorry, by events/panels I meant Metrocon type things centred around the actors. If they are to be there for Uncharted 4 reasons wouldn't that imply that new story stuff will be shown at the conference, otherwise there wouldn't be much to talk about.

Their presence still has no relevance, Nolan North was in the UK for EGX, did some panels & interviews with UK press a few weeks ago, publishers don't send out VAs across the world based on what they reveal.

Is there going to be a Spoiler Free thread for this where the footage will be posted after its ended, similar to E3? I don't think I'll be able to catch it live.

Hmm, it depends when the stream ends tomorrow. Is it confirmed to be over 1 hour? I could possibly then create one like my E3 and gamescom threads.

All I'm saying is that I'm already sold on vr, but not on psvr. It's a lot of money to put down anyway, and with oculus out next year it's difficult to see me picking psvr up.

Wipeout VR would sell me a psvr. Day one. I hope you're listening Sony!

According to the PGW schedule it's gonna be about 90 minutes.

Let me know if you want any of the graphics from the OT or you're doing your own thing with the spoiler free thread btw.

It's pretty telling that in one interview Sony admitted that the hardware was pretty much ready to go but they were still waiting on software. They really need to have a good launch lineup and marketing push from the start. I have yet to see one game that I would even consider really wanting it.

Also the other VR solutions have the added benefit of VR porn. Better not underestimate that.

Will there be a spoiler free thread? I can't watch it live tomorrow because of work, but I would love to watch it when I come home without knowing what has been announced.

If you ask really nicely, Volotaire might make one. But in the meantime, here's the links from the upcoming OT for the event:

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/parisgamesweek/
https://www.youtube.com/user/sonyplaystation
http://www.twitch.tv/playstation

Should be rewatchable from one of those sources.

I'll wait until the end of today to see if anyone would like to do it instead. If no-one volunteers, I'll do it , but there will be a significant delay until I can post links.

Thanks Dinjooh for the offer with graphics help.

Yes, please. :)
I can't watch it live, so I was hoping for a spoiler-free thread.
And it would be nice, if it was already opened some hours before the conference, so we could already open it within a new tab.

Err, that is because they were heavily advertising the Nathan Drake collection at EGX. I don't see what is so outlandish about my prediction and honestly don't know why you are arguing with me.

Let's just agree to disagree, okay :)

Yeah i really don't see that NMS stuff happening. It just wouldn't be too wise. Sure it would be a huge surprise but that game needs more marketing. It's possible they'll announce that some other game has been released on PSN or something but no NMS. I do wonder what kind of brand new announcements we can look forward to.

This is tomorrow at 6 in the evening right? (Holland for me)

Yup. 18:00 o' clock for us. or 17:45..

I'll be so bummed if we don't get PS1/PS2 classics. Perfect time to announce some new games for the service too and especially push harder for US imports to EU store.

Hell, do something crazy and emulate local multiplayer via internet and watch CTR become GOTY 2015.

Then don't go on GAF or any media sites until after you watched it.

Well the whole point in me asking was so I wouldn't get spoiled, for these events there usually is a spoiler free thread. I've always watched lived, so I have no idea how it usually works later. Until Dinjooh brought it to my attention that it probably is rewatchable from the links he provided. So I'll use them.

Reality check:

Since Sony refers to their PS1/ PS2 compatibility as "classics" (as seen in the survey), they're referring strictly to the list of games available on the PS Store. The feature of playing any game not available for purchase from the store should not be expected.

Oh, I personally never expected them to add disc support. While that would be super cool I'm perfectly happy with just classics coming back the way they are with PS3/Vita. There are so many PS2 games left to put on the service too but publishers probably don't wanna bother when it's not available on the new system, especially that would be cool for games not ever getting the HD treatment. Something like Haunting Ground or Klonoa 2, whatever.

That's more likely for PSX as that's intended to be one big fan event and playing PSone/PS2 games would fit into that.

I would love for this to be true, but given that recent survey thread, I'm not sure that's as far along as we'd hope. Would LOVE to be wrong about this and hear about it even before PSX.

Of course, people expecting disc based BC are in for a dissapointment.
Sony is clearly not interested in that since they have nothing to gain.

Made a few mistakes judging by you guys comments, so I fixed it up.

January: Witness
Febuary: Gravity Rush Remastered (US/EU), Day of the Tentacle Remastered
March: Uncharted 4
April: Street Fighter 5, Ratchet & Clank, Star Ocean 5
May: Rime, HD Remaster (God of War Assention with God of War 4 Beta?), Neptuina Victory II
June: Dragon Quest Builders, Heavy Ran & Beyond Two Souls Remastered
July: Dreams (Beta or Retail Release), Puppeteer Remastered (?)
August: GT7 Beta, No Mans Sky, Persona 5, Dragon Quest Heroes 2 (?)
September: QD's New IP, Project Setsuna, Gravity Rush 2
October: Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD, Last Guardian
November: Neir 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Dreams (Retail Release)
December: GT7 (Retail Release), FFXV

Edit: FFXV could be a early 2017 release (Feb/March 2017) as well, Neir 2 could be an summer 2017 release if its pushed back

Edit: Keeping Nier on my list due to Platinum being famous for making games fast (Transformers, Lend of Kora, Metal Gear Rising), so until they announced a delay, will keep the game on my list.

What a line-up.
So how many will be pushed to 2017?

No one thinks that disc retro is coming to PS4. Everyone know if it comes is selected games in digital forms just like it was on PS3.

I actually do totally agree though, my experience with Oculus has been good but I'm holding out for the software with Sony's solution.

Theory time

What about selling a PS2 disc emulator for a one time price?
Or tying it to the PS+ subscription?
And/or selling individual disc licenses/emulator profiles for a sizable discount?

If they were going to tie it to ps plus wouldn't it make more sense to tie it to the ps now sub?

I'm sure they would offer both ways for more options

The normal psn clasic system on ps3

And a sub tying it into psnow

Theory time

What about selling a PS2 disc emulator for a one time price? Could see this being free for PS+ owners for the first few weeks but then it being charged at 20 bucks latter on
Or tying it to the PS+ subscription? Could see PS2 games replacing the PS3 slots for Monthly PS+ Updates down the line
And/or selling individual disc licenses/emulator profiles for a sizable discount? Sorta like how Nintendo lets people upgrade their Wii VC games into Wii U VC games for a small fee (1-3 bucks), so could see that happening

Bolded is my responses to each of your questions :).
