Sony : Paris Games Week press conference dated

There's hype for this event? Heheh. I can't get hyped for sony conferences anymore. Had my share of disappointments. :p

There is some, even if its just for expected stuff to be showed off (PS1/PS2 BC or Classics support on PS4, announced games like Rime and Wild getting more gameplay shown off, PS Vita games (ports of X-Com and Civ 2 Revolution) being officially announced, ect).

Not expecting anything, so I will hopefully be surprised by stuff announced tomorrow :).

I feel like the hype is a bit toned down because we can't get crazy with Shenmue, ff7 and tlg because we already know they're happening now.

So, who wants to go nuts with crash bandicoot?

I feel like if they add in backwards compatibility psnow will take a hit. Potentially make psnow a general rental service? So add in ps4 games once they've reached a certain age?

Speaking of classics, do we have any new info on those Star Wars games coming to PS4? And are they coming to Xbox One in the futuro as well? They elaborated on that much in D23

No they didn't, only PS2 disc support was dropped.

True, got confused there, sorry. Being in this thread While typing in my phone in a bus doesnt help at all there.

I wonder if a sequel to Tokyo Jungle, or even a PS4 port of the original is something that might happen? Really liked the game, and the game director of Tokyo Jungle did mention something about Europe loving that game and America didn't liked it lol.

its Gaf, theres always a hype train

So do people think you'll be able to put PS2 discs into the PS4 and have them run? Because that is something I'd be very interested in.

I would honestly be cool if he popped up in Skylanders SuperChargers with his classic look and riding the motorcycle from Crash 3 :). It is a good game, so he would be a nice fit to the cast; would also like to see other Sony characters join the roster too (Ratchet, Jak, Spike, ect).

Going back on topic though, we will see Crash again at some point on PS4; there has been too many hints stating otherwise. Not expecting anything to come from it though, as it can just be a disappointment (like the Crash of the Titans/Mind over Mutant games).

I could see the Knack team within Studio Japan developing the project (with some Naughty Dog developers overseeing the project or Mark leading the project), so it will hopefully be good whenever its announced.

All I'm saying is that I'm already sold on vr, but not on psvr. It's a lot of money to put down anyway, and with oculus out next year it's difficult to see me picking psvr up.

Wipeout VR would sell me a psvr. Day one. I hope you're listening Sony!

Oculus Rift won't be any cheaper, from what I read you need a high end PC to run it before even buying the headset.

Well Activision did bring back classic Tony Hawk Pro Skater series, I'm sure they bring back Crash at some point and do as fine job as they did with THPS5.

All I want are the PS2 classics that were rated by the ESRB/PEGI. Seems like more of a PSX announcement, but it would be a good surprise so who knows.

Yeah but for me personally that isn't a problem. I don't really see vr as a system seller. Not saying it isn't necessary (it's so freakin' awesome) just you'll be buying it for whatever system you have. So I have every platform, but have to make the choice of which platform I want vr for. Sony will definitely be helped out by everyday consumers not wanting a high-end pc, but the early adopters of vr are more likely to be in my position than everyday consumers. And we all know that the early adoption rate could be crucial to its success.

Tbh I really want a psvr. But sony has to justify me buying it over an oculus/vive which are probably going to get more support. That means titles I want to play in vr as much as the likes of star citizen. Wipeout would be that :)

Disc emulation was hinted at by digital foundry by close sources at the start of this gen but who knows how much that has changed now

Given that you can run pretty decent PS1 and PS2 emulation, with 95% compatibility on a weak spec PC using freeware then it really shouldn't be beyond Sony to deliver something for the PS4.
