There is nothing of the wonder and magic of the OT in Episode 3. It is a horrible, horrible reality and place. Which I know is entirely the point. But then you wonder why it was even a story worth telling. The Jedi are shit. The republic is shit. The Sith are horrible. Everybody is massively flawed in one way or another. It doesn't give any other hope apart from two children who are hidden away and meant for nothing, It's a depressing, lathargic movie, with a predetermined outcome and a predetermined boredom.
Ewan McGregor acting with all his might can't save himself from his hammy, horrible acting partner. Natalie Portman looks confused to be there, waiting for the day she can be a wispy side-chick for Thor. Ian McDarmid may have been on coke for the latter half of the film, but damned if he doesn't try his best.
