Final time tally

Holy shit, what the hell happened to Jeb!, he needed to come out fighting for time and trying to save his campaign.
Does his camp still think they are going to cruise to the nomination?

I agree that Rubio is probably the nominee when things are all settled... And he'd put up a pretty good fight against HRC.
Luckily, the Dems have a pretty good buffer in the electoral college that should help even if FL ends up going red this cycle.

I remember hearing multiple times on NPR over the summer that Rubio is the one candidate that the Clinton campaign fears giving them a tough time.
He and Carson mostly stuck to the questions or segments directed to them.Holy shit, what the hell happened to Jeb!, he needed to come out fighting for time and trying to save his campaign.

only by the merit of the rest of the field being complete clowns.
Rubio doesn't really have anything that's a threat to clinton- she's a far better fundraiser, has the experience argument, the foreign policy argument, and (so far) is better in debates.
Marco can string a sentence together without drooling on himself, but that's about it.
Makes sense. Rubio offers a really large contrast visually. There's almost 25 years difference there in age, and he's Latino? It's only when you look at things substantively, on policy, that see how he pales in comparison ... Unfortunately, when you consider the voting populace at large, you see where they'd be right to be worried...I remember hearing multiple times on NPR over the summer that Rubio is the one candidate that the Clinton campaign fears giving them a tough time.
I don't know. He's a very agile and talented politician and I think a lot of people underestimate him just because he's surrounded by ten clowns during a debate.

It's not impossible. Dig up ones from say 1988, both parties handled it just fine with eight plus candidates.
What you do is pose one question to all candidates, let them all briefly answer, and then they can bat it back and forth a bit with the moderator directing or move on if they all agree/some allotment of minutes is up.
Remember, it's not a lie if you believe it.Nearly choked to death when Christie said the democratic debate was a shit show insult filled debacle compared to the honorable GOP debates...his ability to lie straight faced is astounding.
And the Hillary campaign should worry. The very optics of a Rubio vs Clinton race will make a lot of liberals squirm, not to mention how FL comes immediately into play with Rubio on the ticket.
Young & minority Rubio vs old & white Clinton.
Remember, it's not a lie if you believe it.
Holy shit, what the hell happened to Jeb!, he needed to come out fighting for time and trying to save his campaign.

its always amusing to see who actually looks at polls, and who just makes assumptions.
Rubios numbers with minorities AND with florida in general aren't good. TRUMP does as well in florida as Rubio and Bush combined
Yep, easily the biggest lie of the night. We joke and laugh that the republicans live in a different universe, but I'm starting to think it's true...Nearly choked to death when Christie said the democratic debate was a shit show insult filled debacle compared to the honorable GOP debates...his ability to lie straight faced is astounding.
*Looks at Rubio's time*
Fuck
Anyone but him.
Our national motto is "In God we Trust," reminding us that faith in our Creator is the most important American value of all. - Marco Rubio, 2012 RNC Keynote
Seems like an odd question. What makes you think the Bush campaign thinks that? You think a campaign presumes to be the nominee when they recently had to slash staffer wages?
Of course not. They know they are in trouble. Very deep trouble.

Polls don't mean shit when Carson is still polling at the top in Iowa. He's not a serious candidate.
Man Fox News is even ripping the moderators apart. Haha wow.
The moderators looked like three clowns asking there vindictive questions. Came off immature and biased.
I'm not a diehard republican but Cruz had a point. Why can't we have a democratic debate moderated by three real right-wingers. Republicans are too nice sometimes and let democrats take some low blows and they get away with it.
Hillary handled Obama pretty well during the 2008 debates- she won as often as he did, give or take. And obama had the benefit of not having to defend completely insane GOP talking points.
There's no real win strategy for Rubio one on one vs. Hillary. That woman is capable, prepared, and has no real weaknesses for him to exploit.
its always amusing to see who actually looks at polls, and who just makes assumptions.

Make this happen!
Yeah, tell that to Jim Webb when he complained about time, Chaffee when he got wrecked over the patriot act vote, Hillary when she was cornered on banks and Bernie when he got destroyed over gun control. They should, they were complete amateurs. Dude did you watch the democratic debate? It was softball after softball. I don't really care but watching with unbiased eyes I think the republicans get the short end of the stick with the debates.
I love this shit on the Kelly File right now about the CNBC moderators attacking candidates. And this focus group. Ahahahahaha

What am I reading. Are you fucking real? Do you consider these questions from Anderson Cooper "softball"?They should, they were complete amateurs. Dude did you watch the democratic debate? It was softball after softball. I don't really care but watching with unbiased eyes I think the republicans get the short end of the stick with the debates.
COOPER: Secretary Clinton, I want to start with you. Plenty of politicians evolve on issues, but even some Democrats believe you change your positions based on political expediency.
You were against same-sex marriage. Now you're for it. You defended President Obama's immigration policies. Now you say they're too harsh. You supported his trade deal dozen of times. You even called it the "gold standard". Now, suddenly, last week, you're against it.
Will you say anything to get elected?
AnotherCOOPER: Secretary Clinton, though, with all due respect, the question is really about political expediency. Just in July, New Hampshire, you told the crowd you'd, quote, "take a back seat to no one when it comes to progressive values."
Last month in Ohio, you said you plead guilty to, quote, "being kind of moderate and center." Do you change your political identity based on who you're talking to?
COOPER: Denmark is a country that has a population - Denmark is a country that has a population of 5.6 million people. The question is really about electability here, and that's what I'm trying to get at.
You - the - the Republican attack ad against you in a general election - it writes itself. You supported the Sandinistas in Nicaragua. You honeymooned in the Soviet Union. And just this weekend, you said you're not a capitalist.
Doesn't - doesn't that ad write itself?
Do you call these softball questions? Fuck outta here.COOPER: Governor Chafee, you've been everything but a socialist. When you were senator from Rhode Island, you were a Republican. When you were elected governor, you were an independent. You've only been a Democrat for little more than two years. Why should Democratic voters trust you won't change again?
CHAFEE: Anderson, you're looking at a block of granite when it comes to the issues. Whether it's...
COOPER: It seems like pretty soft granite. I mean, you've been a Republican, you've been an independent.
Oh totally yeah, I agree. Embarrassing show by CNBC.They should, they were complete amateurs. Dude did you watch the democratic debate? It was softball after softball. I don't really care but watching with unbiased eyes I think the republicans get the short end of the stick with the debates.
Exactly - they also are real candidatesPutting FL and Ohio in play immediately.
It's a good ticket for the GOP.

I'll give you this. Overall Trump in particular was hounded and chased for the last three debates or so. I don't believe that Republicans as a whole have been mistreated by moderators, especially in this debate where they practically rolled over once the powers the be on the earpieces told them to cut it out. See below for an answer regarding the "tone" of questions in the democratic debate. Not arguing that, the way these questions were asked and the tone were totally diff then democratic debate.
Yeah, for the most part. That didn't stop moderation from asking about Hillary's emails and what it said about her character. O Malley and Chaffee were looking for blood there, but Bernie preemptively shut that down and gave Hillary some major help in that regard. Both parties' presidential candidates have been given some dubious questions as far as I'm concerned. Democrats just aren't nearly as big crybabies about it.I thought Cooper asked some decent, fairly hard-hitting questions. I think the candidates during that debate (besides "it was my first day") just had better responses instead of refusing to answer and getting the crowd to boo.
Thanks for these. The mail one stood out to me in particular, but Cooper certainly didn't let anyone rest on their laurels for too long. That aspect of the democratic debates felt really present in the first thirty minutes or so of the Republican debate, so I felt that it was a good watch. Everything afterwards was a joke not worth tuning in for (except Jeb getting mauled by Rubio lol). What am I reading. Are you fucking real? Are you in the same reality I'm in?
The democratic debate threw plenty of hardball. The republicans are so far divorced from reality that nearly every everything is a hardball.
HEWITT: I'd like to talk about winning because I think all of you are more qualified than former Secretary of State Clinton...
