It more or less is the same time... most fallouts are about 50+ years apart iirc
The problem with fallout 3 is that it takes place 200 years after the bombs drop yet it looks like they dropped that year.

Spanish screenshots from the game show date in few pictures, it's 10.23.2287. Even saw someone calling Bethesda liers because it's not precisely something something years after Great War like Bethesda said in E3.

Jesus, people are sad. Have you looked at the leaked trophies? All of them I mean.
Saw Hines reply about this Twitter. Hines confirmed 200 years back in July. When somebody called him on it just recently, he said he was just going based on what Howard said and then he basically said: shut it. Hines kind of seems pissed off on twitter that people are leaking some of the game. Going as far as saying if you ask me about leaks I'm going to mute you. But with only about a week to go and so many review copies in the wild what did they honestly expect? Actually I think so far the leaks have been pretty damn tame.
One more question. When, precisely did Todd say FO4 took place?Yeah, I read full list. Most are super simplistic stuff, not sure why Bethesda even bothers with achies like that.

Don't forget, Todd did say it took place 200 years after the bombs dropped, the protagonist was in a 200 year slumber, what's ten years extra lol. What Rjinaz said, I think he said 200 years on dot. Meaning FO4 would overlap with events of FO3, but now that we have seen in-game date we know it's 10 years after events of FO3.

Also, did you see the picture for the achievement called? Going into potential spoiler territory here people.Nuclear Family
Sorry, didn't think for a moment there.Tag it bro. I saw it. I know what it implies.

Sorry rjinaz.Nope and I don't want to know..
Edit you tagged it nevermind.
Nothing so drastic...I would assumeSorry, didn't think for a moment there.
Anywayor am I over thinking it?do you think there's a time skip?
Nothing so drastic...I would assumeyour SO exited the vault a few decades before you did and you meet up with them and they're all old.
I'm part of the silent, maybe majority that enjoys the changes in skyrim and looks forward to more. I say majority, because skyrim was their best selling creation engine game iirc.
Huh, weird. Didn't notice that other one. Guess we'll see.But there's the achievement called reunion, in which it depicts you and presumably the baby from 200 years earlier.
The Nuclear family achievement is an old man on his death bed presumably and you holding his hand.
Edit: No more spoiler talk after this discussion, just in case someone accidentally clicks lol.
Yeah it's strange, can't wait to play it though.Huh, weird. Didn't notice that other one. Guess we'll see.
Yeah, moratorium on spoiler chat.
I'm out. I was skeptical about this game ever since they confirmed the removal of skills but all these negative points sealed the deal for me. That perk especially is counter-intuitive to the essence of RPG design. Why bother putting any points into intelligence if you can stay at 1 and get the same benefit? Why even bother deciding a SPECIAL layout if you can just max it out with infinite level ups? It feels Bethesda wants all the players to do all the things and, while that may be appealing for some, I don't like it.
How is dialog a "rigid complex system"? Is everyone forgetting Mass Effect exists? You can have large scale and fully-voiced games that don't limit your dialog choices.
I think RPG's aren't for you if you feel that in-depth and extensive dialogue [VA'd or not] is "rigid complex system". Most of players who love RPG's expect "rigid complex systems" like extensive amounts of dialogue with people in the game.
I have no idea what the original poster of that comment was referring to since they just slapped down a drive-by comment without referencing anything. Whether they were referring to the dialog system or something else, my comment still stands. However fine, let's remove "complex" and simply leave in rigid, which it is if it refuses to change.
The dialog options in Fallout 3/New Vegas weren't these great accomplishments in any case. They were often flavor text that all it did was allow you to - in your head - respond in a different way, but still arrive at the same point that everyone else did. The only thing this Four Button system possibly removes are the SPECIAL/Skill checks that were prevalent in New Vegas that allowed you to get around certain conversations. Was that fun? Sure. Would their removal alter the previous games in a lasting way. Unlikely.
Having a voice pro-tag meant Bethesda had to make certain adjustments and this appears to be one of them; it already started in Skyrim and folks have no problem playing the shit out of that game. They've just refined it even more here.
Good post.
Found this on Reddit, spoilers ahead; https://instagram.com/_fo4leaks/ Has some very low quality video clips up too.

Was just going to post. Blurry as heck but you can make some stuff out.
Dude must be using a cell phone cam.
Dude must be using a cell phone cam.
So apparently there is(game mechanic spoiler)cover/leaning system in the game, similar to CoD Ghosts.
Always late to the party on this, but I feel that New Vegas was the better game in terms of writing, story and making you feel like the choices you made mattered.
Fallout 3 was the better game as far as the world and exploring.
Which was basically already said because I'm slow.
Gonna suggest maybe someone should create a spoiler thread?
So that I can then add it to my hidden threads list...
Saw this on Reddit. I know it's stupid and wrong but I hate him right now:

call of duty ghosts huh
I'm so glad I cancelled my Pipboy edition. It just looks so bad.
I should have the game on Thursday though.
Let's all be gentlemen and ladies and not post marked or unmarked story or story related stuff in this thread or any other thread that's not the spoiler ot thread. All questions that may require a spoiler answer should also go into that thread. DON'T BE A DICK.
Please don't be that guy.
Edit: media and Gaf blackout confirmed. See you guys on the other side.
