Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I mean popped, like previous Halos. there is bleed through where there didn't used to be, so now you can die in a shot even if your shields aren't down. It's not as obvious because you don't have time to react once it's down. I'll test it but I don't notice shields popping on opponents at least as obviously as previous games with the fire burst around them.

edit: you're right. It just seems like you yourself don't have the same amount of notice once popped as there really seems to be bleed through unlike Halo 3

I'm going to see if I can replicate what you are talking about, I haven't noticed any issues myself...

Though if someone is 4shotting you, with a BR, you have about .25s from the time your sheild pops to your death. Your better off just counting his shots, then dodging...

There's been shield bleedthrough in every Halo game except for vanilla Reach.

This is like a top tier advertisement for why the req system is really fucking dumb for rare one shot cards

No. It's not dumb. It's risk/reward. Use your good cards wisely. ;)

Warzone with a party is the best Halo 5 experience.

Also ruined a guy's REQ Scorpion within five seconds of him calling it in. Man, that guy must've been pissed. :lol

#reqd

Did something similar on Stormbreak yesterday but the guy was already pulling out of the bottom floor and I jumped down from the top level, boarded and destroyed him. He had a tank for all of maybe ten seconds. Quite satisfying haha.

Uhhh, the only game without bleed through was halo Reach.

Nah, it's basically the only thing that keeps WZ from being a complete shit show.

I've called in countless Snipers/Lasers and died before shooting 2 shots, them's the breaks.

I played 4000 games of H3 and I swear that every normal weapon besides the BR required shield pop and then one more shot to kill. The BR took 14 bullets to pop shields so the 15th bullet could be dragged to the head.

Risk reward = hope someone doesn't run into the garage when you call in a rare vehicle and instantly destroy it? Ok.

It's happened to me before. Twice now. Am I salty? Nope. I know the risks of making myself a large target on the field lol. Part of the meta. I have 15 more tanks in my inventory I'm not worried about it lol.

Anything that I get that is super rare I don't use until I get at least one or two more of them. Starting to build a nice little garage of loot to use later on.

That's why you have a team, to mitigate risk. Lone wolfing it is, and will always be, a terrible idea, no matter how many tank reqs you have to burn.

Speaking of REQs, opened a few (2 premium, one silver, 2 bronze), and I'm pretty happy. Got a DMR, some armor, a Typhon cert, a Hydra cert, and a Chaingun Turret cert. I think I've gotten all I can out of the Bronze packs, not getting permanents consistently from those any more, just boosts. Time to go full time silver and gold!

I've been playing since Halo 1 (which I probably beat on Legendary 100 times) and I regret saying this is easily my least favorite Halo. I truly can't stand the flaccid campaign, it feels nothing like Halo and lacks any magic, and the multiplayer doesn't have anything to bring me back. Even Warzone feels unbalanced and brought in just to make extra money from Req Packs. It was a bizarre decision to consult pro-players for this game, the average person and %99 of people who buy the game are going to be looking for different elements in a game than pro-players do. To me, this feels like a completely desperate attempt to keep Halo relevant in the face of floundering numbers and strong competition. No one cares that Halo 5 is made from the ground up to be an E-Sport game, 343. We want fun.

Putting this game on Craigslist today, so incredibly disappointed, and being a big Halo fan since day 1, I know there's a huge amount of people who feel the same way. Just a shame, I really hoped this would blow me away.

This whole time I was mentally preparing myself for a super hard encounter that everyone kept putting in spoiler tags, but when I reached it (
the triple warden fight
) I beat it in about 4 tries and it wasn't too bad. For some reason I found the
single warden encounter in the green looking place as blue team
way more difficult.

Then again I was playing on heroic so maybe it's impossible on legendary.

Anyways this was my strategy:

I had a full incineration cannon and a full light rifle (which you can pick up at one of the weapon stands in the previous room). Then I would target one of the wardens on either the left or right side. If it chased me, I would just run away, wait for him to come close to an exploding barrel and damage him that way. If he chased my team mates, I would just shoot the light rifle into his back. Of course I would never stay still in case the other wardens try shooting me. Playing Destiny has made me pretty good at that. Anyways the first warden died without me firing a single incineration shot, then I did the same tactic for the second warden, but finished him off with a charged incineration shot leaving my cannon at 70~% charge. Then for the last warden I just incinerated it into the ground

The typhoon cert is a top tier get. Love that heavy.

The pro players had nothing to do with campaign or WZ? The 4v4 is as good or better than it's ever been, TBH.

What's bad about the multiplayer?

Wow. To each their own. Warzone is designed for casual players.

BR was a 4 shot kill though. 12 bullets. 11 in MLG playlist. Halo 3 had bleed through, like both halo games before it. Reach took bleed through out and people were pissed because it drastically increased the effectiveness of sprint + double melee since you could put 3 shots into somone and trade punches but end up on equal footing. You're shots meant nothing since the melee damage didn't bleed through into health.

so much fucking slayer in team arena...if i want to play slayer, I go into the slayer list. I want CTF ._.

What's bad about the multiplayer?
europeans get put on american dedicated servers
bad lobby design
no "mute" before the game starts
orion
map variation
no objective only matchmaking
orion
no social playlists (and not, warzone is not a replacement for those.)

It's not that it is bad from the ground. everything is given for a great mp.

Almost a week in and I still don't like the Multiplayer.

I'll give it a little while yet, see if I can work out why.

Not looking good for my future Halo career, though.

It's the risk you take. I've burned several tank cards myself when the enemy just manages to jump on because my team is off doing its own thing instead of paying attention for you.

So I have six different SMGs to choose from and some of them seem to be nearly identical in function.

Most unique one I have is one that fires "kinetic bolts".... What does that even mean? More effective against vehicles or something?

Ugh, Last night for the first time I got a match in Orion...my experience was unpleasant, as the other team looked like the knew how to setup to do spawn trap (I kind of liked it a bit) but how the map is made, where the power weapon spawn, and not spawning with a DMR or BR give a very big advantage to the team that pull off the spawn trap

Something something Destiny.
