Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

- The aiming acceleration curve is all kinds of jacked up.
- Maybe I like more auto-aim?
- Motion tracker has about a 12-foot range. Either make it useful or don't have it at all.
- The maps are all cluttered up with extra geometry that I'm constantly getting snagged on.
- The FOV is an embarrassment.

I played like 80 hours of the beta and obviously loved it. It's incredible what they managed to do to it in just 10 months to make me hate it (mostly in regards to the aiming).

I agree on some points. Aiming hasn't really felt off for me, then again, I am a very slow player now, think my sensitivity is 6 with Recon control scheme. Can't say it's much different than the beta, but maybe I never checked. I think the other thread showed it's bothering a few players so maybe we'll see a change.

Motion tracker, I agree is kind of useless at 18 meters. It still impacts CQC game play but it's kind of weird that I can see and be shooting people or be shot from them, but they won't show up on motion tracker. I agree, they should either get rid of it altogether, or improve it a bit again. But remember, for everyone who hates motion tracker now, they had people who hated the motion tracker of the beta (Funknown pls). Maybe they can switch it up for next game, have it work as a proximity danger sensor like Destiny, but also sound based like CoD where gunshots cause you to show up, in addition to spotting (much like how flag carriers get spotted) get added to motion trackers.

Maps, I think they need to make them 'look good'. It's a fine balance. You can't have Forge looking maps where everything is clean and bare, but you also need clean geometry and lines of sight. This is something Halo has had an issue with since Reach though. Unnecessary eye candy. But then remember, a lot of awkward geometry is placed to achieve the pro jumps and skill moves like clamber some obscure corner and crouch jump etc.

I think you should stick with it though. Once the social playlists come, BTB as well,

Have played Warzone for like 50 games and it's plenty fun, but the Boss system is completely and utterly broken by letting whoever gets the final shot get the kill, especially since you can just shoot them from spawn. Might as well just have everyones guns disappear and prompt everyone to spam RT as fast as possible for a minute and award 150 points to whoever hit it last.
Clearly you have yet to feel the unique euphoria achieved only by cowering in a corner for three minutes with a single rocket to literally snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

I agree that it's ridiculous but it still feels so good to do it.

Just checked halo waypoint forums, it's absolutely ridiculous how many people are having problems with their purchased Warzone Req pack and preorder bonuses. Response from 343 is MIA, KIA etc. Just say something for fuck sake's!!!

Got bitten by aiming yesterday, dived into warzone for the first time and was all over the place with aiming at range with the battle rifle. I guess practice will make perfect.

I really don't understand why they won't just say "guys, we hear you and we are working on it. we will give you some news in a week" O.o or something like that..

Who likes these warden fights. Every single one of em I hate.

I'm at the part where
there are 3 in a row, with 2 at the same time

Kill me now

I don't know if that's pity, but instant 1 shot deaths from their swords or stupid orb thing is just exhausting. Just goddamit. Do they just one shot you with that orange beam too on legendary?

I don't know what it is about fps games and bosses but damn man. When you got a bunch of beefy adds, some kind of basic mechanic to get any damage... Having not one but multiple instant death possibilities does not a fun fight make. Fuck this, sleeping on it

Lame it out from far away with a light rifle and the railguns you can find near the pelican. Takes a while, but it works.

So after a Week of Playing Halo 5. I would say this is the best playing Halo since 2, the Guns and movement all feel amazing.

Now where 343 really fucked up in the lack of game modes. The shit is sparse man real sparse. Me personally I doesn't effect me cause I'm having fun and it's hitting all my competitive notes. The Avg casual is going to be gone by time COD and BattleFront come out sadly. I guess 343 was really hopping people get addicted to Warzone to by time, Then again Christmas is coming up and they could hook that crowd. Day 1 buyers I don't see staying that long IMO.

I just got past Genesis tonight on Heroic; clocked in at about 8.5hrs so far and that is with me dodging that one warden. Not too shabby.

Those early reviews about 4hr completetions had me a bit worried, but I can only assume they played on easy mode and ran through every single thing in the game.

Seriously - the complaints about the game being short ring pretty hollow when those people are playing on normal and sometimes 4 player co-op normal (looking at you Joe). I just played through all 4 previous games back to back on Legendary and it took me some 16 hours to clear Halo 5 on Legendary.

I was playing with a friend yesterday, I'm silver 3 and he was unranked. We played about 5 games and all of them the opposition was platnum/diamond ranks. Is that intended? If you are in a party you get much higher opposition?

I try to be that guy communicating enemy placement to a bunch of randoms with no mics. It's really damn satisfying when you can turn around a strongholds match within the last 10 points like that.

Man, there's so much negativity around this game in this thread, which scares me off buying it.

like with every game it has some bad stuff which annoys some people more and some less.

for example for me problems with the mp are: spawn points, forge maps are bad for example osiris, BTBwas supposed to be on forge maps http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=183229370&highlight=#post183229370 no objective only playlist, warzone has to much walking around in the beginning of games it takes to long to get into the action, to many quitters or games were you start 3 vs 4, no social playlist

but I still play it because it is fun..also I hope they fix that stuff

This is not even on the same level as the negativity around the release of Halo 4 and Reach. Game is good. People are always going to find things to complain about. The only serious complaints that I have heard that are reasonable are (1) the lack of split-screen, (2) the repetitivity of a certain campaign boss, (3) the lack of game modes and maps at launch, and (4) the fact it has micro-transactions. If the micro-transactions mean we get proper content for free (maps, modes), then I'm 100% fine with that.

It is amazing, but, those 3 missions are filler if I've seen filler.

Not all. They are a complete change of pace and offer a unique perspective not seen in previous games. They might be short (if you just rush to the objectives) but they are hardly filler.

I don't think they shouldn't not be there, rather just be included in a mission rather than being separate.

its halo, people just love complaining no matter what. seriously no mater what halo did, it was hated then loved, then hated if re-added.

Yeah there definitely are some unique Halo 5 issues (I don't have a problem with the aiming but you should be able to use the "old" style if you want to, and the lobbies are very bare bones) but most of the problems have existed to some extent in all Halo games -- some uninspired maps, quitters when solo queuing, no social playlist for oddball etc, unbalanced teams in the modes with a high player count per team, and strange decisions on gamemodes and maps in some playlists. Unlike every single previous Halo I don't have any issues with the core gameplay though, so if they listen to the community on these I'm confident this will become my favorite Halo MP, period.

Replaying on Legendary had made me appreciate the single player more as well, there are many more different approaches to most encounters than I realised on my first playthrough. I kind of wish 343i take the "story missions" and squad gameplay a step further in Halo 6 and turn the Infinity into a Normandy-like hub you visit in-between missions while also adding Mass Effect-like squad management and some light RPG elements (or at least allow you to customise the loadouts of your squad between missions).

I'd be rolling with Arbiter, Linda, and Buck.

I haven't played Halo since Halo 2 but I liked the first two games in the series online. And I just bought a Xbox One and an Elite controller and have no games, so might give this one a go.

So, BTB really does come on forged maps? I mean... This would be so disappointing. And I bet they'd be part of the 18 DLC maps too, eh?

Anyway, finally finished the campaign. It was really good (with a lot of minor annoyances, though), but I'll give proper details later. What I can say is that, to me, every level was good in some way.

Probably will be
Chief sacrifices himself to save Cortana or kill himself along with her. I have a feeling what they'll probably do is, Chief and Cortana go in a cryptum for 10,000 years, this way, Chief is 'missing in action' but officially dead for the story and they can force Locke and everyone else on us.

That sounds like a terrible possible story climax!

Man rage really fuels my skill in this game. Ill start out negative in a Slayer match and then turn around and get a Spree near the end. Im just gonna let the hate flow through me.

I'd agree that this is the most fun I've had in Halo since 2. The combat feels SO good, most of the weapons feel great to use. I really couldn't imagine going back to any of the past Halo MP's now because I love the lack of autoaim. Getting dem reversals never felt so good.
