Can someone explain what exactly is happening for a fan who walked into this thread late? There is an event that was presumed to show a KH3 trailer that should have started 30 mins ago? Is this event streamed?

KH Fans: Why?! Why won't you let us see the new trailer?

This update went up on Gematsu

Unfortunately, there was no actual source for the supposed confirmation of when these trailers will be released. We apologize for the misunderstanding. Even so, both videos are likely to hit the internet soon enough. Enjoy the screenshots in the meantime.

And this thread is in that article. Did we retroactively screw ourselves?

Threads like this is the reason I am glad that Square Enix isn't doing this closed mega theatre shit with Final Fantasy XV anymore.
Square Enix doesn't really do the Secret Mega Theater stuff with anything anymore. They occasionally have stuff like this where they show stuff for attendees first without live streaming, but for many years now they've stopped keeping the trailers to themselves for too long. A few times it has taken a few days or a week to get some trailer shown somewhere, but we've still eventually gotten them relatively soon. If the trailers shown here aren't made public, that would be a first in many years, apart for some teasers. It's still a vast improvement over the Secret Mega Theater days when proper new trailers were never officially revealed to the public or it took several months or even longer before we got something.

Yesterday was the Kingdom Hearts Premium Theatre event to kick off D23 Japan.
At 2PM JST the event started. It wasn't live streamed but attendees were told to not put anything on social media until 5PM JST, which was when the second show would start.

When 5PM JST hit, news articles came out from the event, as well as a bunch of tweets. The articles shared three new screenshots, which the tweets described the trailer. During this time, someone got the idea that the trailers would be online on November 4th at 3PM JST.

Hours before the supposed time the trailers were coming online, Square Enix apparently informed some people that it was never officially said that the trailers would be uploaded at 3PM JST.

And now, 48 minutes after that time, it appears that whoever first said it pulled it out if their ass and now people are disappointed that nothing exciting really happened at the event.

It is disgusting how they handle this. Like fucking movie trailers on conventions.

It doesn't work that way. Fuck every fan, like 99 % of the fans, by showing it only to people that attend your shitshow. IN 2015, everything should be released online immediately.

no, the last D23 trailer was this one

are you talking about the 2.5 launch event? cause that did have some concept art but no new trailer

Maybe it was the 2.5 launch event?

But I recall there was some event at Disney Land for a Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer, no trailer was released to the public and judging by the information from whom attended that they described the contents of the trailer that was shown at E3 later that year.
(Eraqus and Xehanort playing chess in a room. Sora's keyblade changing shape, Tangled world, and so on.) That information was shared at Kingdom Hearts insider.

+1 this exclusive stuff only harms the advertising and PR of the future product. And for what to reward people that can afford to spend lots and travel far for said shitshows (most of these attendees are local anyway)

Tangle World was E3

the Room Eraqus and Xehanort were playing chess in, one of Sora's new keyblades (the one that turns into guns from the E3 trailer) and some new heartless designs were shown at 2.5 launch event

the trailer and E3 did have all that info in it but the game play was all new as the most thos people saw was some art work and maybe a model or two

What was shown at the 2.5 event was concept art of a few heartless, the room where Eraqus and Xehanort play chess (which had Sora standing in it), a keyblade transformation and of a world that is apparently called "Cable Town".

No Tangled world was shown, and it was certainly not a trailer in any shape or form. That whole presentation lasted a minute or less.
