How does Animal Friend and Attack Dog look? If it works well, it could be very useful.

Also regarding Local Leader, any info on Workshop settlements. Wonder what establishing Supply Lines will do?

So Local Leader allows you to access any of the resources from any of your workshops, until you have it they're limited to that one location unless you add them to your inventory.

That launch trailer is absolutely fine. The only things i really don't like much are the facial expressions during the conversations..it looks...static, odd. But the locations look fine, really fine.
Yep. Facial animation is not good, but I expected that based on previous footage. Outside of that it's complete hype!

Shots like these get me so excited.

So any impressions about how bad the game is when it comes to glitches? Also is there any stream running right now?

I know it's petty...but I can't get over these shiny single piece plastic hair models. I feel like it's 2006 all over again. They look like lego clip on hair pieces. Even in the launch trailer (0:47)

VATS doesn't stop time anymore, it slows down time like in the Witcher 3 when you open your equip menu in combat. Not sure if you would consider that gimped or not. But you should know that plenty of people play Fallout like an FPS which is why there was a lot of concern over it's shooting mechanics early on.

If anything this makes VATS better as you cant keep stopping and restarting VATS for better %. It was already OP this may help.

This is going to blow some people's minds. We have a large contingent here that refuses to believe Bethesda is capable of releasing a game that isn't filled with bugs.

I think some doubters will be surprised for sure. Still can't decide my build but female for sure.

You even read the perk chart? Agility has boosts for shooting from the hip and without VATs. It also has perks to boosts action points, which are used for sprinting and to increase accuracy while sprinting.

Most of the perks have nothing to do with VATs.

Hip firing automatic weapons has always been a no-no for me. Gunslinger is the only thing I think I'd be tempted to take out of that perk line and that's the entry level perk. Maybe Action Boy, too.

I'm looking to do a melee build if possible. Think something like that is feasible in this game? Just a dude who is angry at the world who wants to punch shit/hit things with melee weapons. =P

Definitely look up SPECIAL and Perks, that creator tool is awesome for that. Choosing SPECIAL that gives you perks that you want is imo very important, and apparently FO4 forces you to choose SPECIAL without telling you Perks. That is some bullshit character creation.

part of the reason I'm getting the guide, don't care about walkthroughs in the least just don't want to regret making a wrong choice in the beginning. I might use it for a couple item locations as well, hehe

While true, it's also the case that he might just have gotten lucky. I know people who claims basically every Bethesda game (and New Vegas) are bug-ridden messes, but unless you go all the way back to Daggerfall, I've never encountered any game-breaking (or even really inconvenient) bugs in these titles, and I've played every single one of them at launch.

So pardon my stupidity if this has been asked alot, but do you only pick perks on level up? Or do you now increase the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats? I am confused since all the character builders make no mention of skills like in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

I'm planning to.I'll be keeping my Perception and Agility high.
And just shooting out out VATS when I'm desperate and out of AP.
Might snipe out of VATS sometimes too.

Oh man i could never do that. I love VATS too much for that. Slaughtering a baddie in slowmo with VATS is just so satisfying.

Dude, if it looks like the first pic on my Xbox One next week.....i'll be one happy dude for sure. It looks absolutely fine. I have a feeling that's PC though.

joke?

Why it would be joke tho? There now is bond mechanic with companions, that unlocks perks and such with them.

So Twitch bans you if you stream FO4 before it's 10th in NA? This after Pete Hines told me that as long game is out in your region [e.g. EU] you are good to go with streaming. So which is it?

lol reddit

I wonder how dat ass looks with muscular body type...

I was asking myself the same thing. The gameplay content that was shown until now were being played on PC or XB1? I guess it is PC right? I hope XB1 doesnt look much worse!

One thing I noticed in the streams was that locations are marked "cleared" when they were, well, cleared of bad guys. So, I am wondering if high INT or luck 5 will be even more useful to level as there may be a more or less fixed pool of XP.

It fits exactly in what I was looking to make.

Strength 6 - Armored & Strong Back for mods
Perception 4 - Locksmith
Endurance 5 - Aqua boy - very interesting, something new, useful in such cases, can make out funny moments.
Charisma 3 - Lone Wanderer - amazing, more weight, I could take out strong back and use that special somewhere else. If the companions AI does not make them charge in middle of my screen, taking my place, disturbing my moment while I shoot or when they detect them before me and ruin my plans, like in New Vegas, probably I will leave Strong Back anyway for who knows what needs there will be. :)
Intelligence 5 - Gun nut, Hacker, Scrapper & Science! for all the laser & plasma weapons mods
Agility 4 - Gunslinger, Commando, Sneak & in special Mr.Sandman (welcome back) - perfect combo with Aqua boy Perk :D
Luck 3 - Perfect advantage straight from the beginning with Fortune Finder & Scrounger. I don't need the rest.

I always was the person with having more weight. I scavenge places and gather everything that I find there since I got used with New Vegas Survival / Workbenches, but also for heavy armor or multiple clothes & suits that have special points / skill points in moments where they are in need of them, as the same goes for aids and ammo.

So...
S: 2, just a bobblehead away from Armorer;
P: 3, Rifleman is my priority, Locksmith after the bobblehead;
E: 3, I only care about Toughness, but some HP may come in handy;
C: 2, which becomes 3 with the bobblehead, Lone Wanderer and nothing else for now;
I: 4, Medic, Gun Nut then Hacker;
A: 7, Ninja, Action Boy, Sneak and Mr. Sandman
L: 7, Better Criticals and Bloody Mess/Critical Banker

Same here, I seem to be really lucky with bugs/glitches in general. I lost a save in Tomb Raider:Definitive Edition two years ago, but that's the only big one I can remember.

I hope so man. There are some folks here who are playing it on Xbox One, but i don't think they are allowed to comment on that.

Re: Local Leader.

Wow, that's a big timesaver. Thanks.

Sorry if you've already answered and I just missed it, but what exactly does the game say about Survival difficulty?

This is what is says in game about levels:

"Difficulty level affects Damage and the chance of Legendary Enemies. Survival level also dramatically slows the rate of healing"

So... that's it? Probably the same monster stats as very hard, but food and items heal less? Didn't like NV's hardcore mode, but I was expecting a bit more

I think I'll start on very hard and drop it to hard if the enemies are too bullet-spongy. Hard should be okay, normal would probably be a bit too easy.

With mods for consoles, I'm sure we'll be seeing a really detailed Hardcore mode for all platforms before too long.
