When unlocking a game via VPN, can you disable it once it's unlocked and play the game or do you have to stay connected via VPN until the official release?
Minimize the game and take Steam offline. As long as Steam remains offline you should be able to start up and shut down the game as often as you want.

where are you on the Bethsada Game Defense Board

I got a Bingo.

Can't wait to randomly drop things throughout the world.

Why don't you do something awesome and plan ahead, like drop a decent weapon at the bottom of an easily distinguishable water source and leave it there as like an emergency hidden supply drop that you can come back to if you need it 120 hours later when you're wandering through that area beaten and bloodied?

Sounds more awesome than you initially thought, doesn't it.

Is the physical PC release just a steam code? I'm preordering through Best Buy and don't want to get the PS4 version anymore because of the FPS thread.

I ordered from ShopTo who sent them out yesterday, so I'm kind of expecting it tomorrow to be honest
Mine was dispatched from ShopTo yesterday too.

I wouldn't expect it tomorrow though. Apparently ShopTo don't do Royal Mail drop offs on Saturdays so it's probably still sitting on an outgoing trolley in the warehouse until Monday.

Same happened to me with GTAV. Dispatched first class on Saturday but didn't get it until the Tuesday.

Check out the 56 minute video. There really isn't anything doom and gloom the way that thread is presenting itself.

You have to use the VPN to keep playing? I figured you just use a VPN to unlock it then you can switch back over to your normal net.

Just configured the VPN to New Zealand and boom 20hrs left on the count down. God bless those sheep-loving better versions of Australians.

In Steam Store?

My VPN software says I'm my current location is NZ, but the Steam countdown still says the game unlocks in 30+ hours, all the prices are in euros etc... This is a bit disconcerting.

Early game spoiler on how to get an extra SPECIAL point at the beginning of the game.

In the game start, there is a book, "What makes you SPECIAL?" It is in the character creation section in your house, before the war starts. This will give you an extra point, allowing you to make/plan a starting build with 29 points. Spoiler from strategy guide image: http://imgur.com/InBBzkC

oooh useful

Did you sign out of Steam BEFORE you turned the VPN on?

I had to change my store country from account settings (clicked my account name and went from there). It showed the country where my account was created and New Zealand.

Hey these are my exact Xs. Great minds.

I feel like it'd be the same for my friend as well. I'm excited for the game, but I can't really say that I play Bethesda games for the graphics or the story. I play to get immersed in a world that allows me more to freedom to play however I want than any other open-world RPG I can think of. Fallout 3 had an amazing map, and if Fallout 4 is anywhere close to it, it'll be my GotY.

Also I'm playing on PC with a GTX 980ti so framerate concerns aren't really important to me.

Yeah, tried restarting it a couple of times, too. Browser does think I'm in NZ - mylocation.org, for example, thinks I'm in Auckland - which makes this even weirder.

From what I read Steam will try to always display the store in the language and currency of where your account was created. See above how I managed it.

Would like to know this too.

Try FlyVPN. On their site is a login and password for a free account. Just enter that into the program when logging in and you can get some NZ servers under oceanic.
You'll also need to change your location in Steam for the game to unlock in 19 hours. (at least I did).

Oh and you might need to download the extra data for the game through that proxy, which will be very very very slow.
If you do have to, change the preferred download server in Steam to one in NZ or you'll just be bouncing your data half way accross the world and back.

Oh alright, I suppose it's just displaying the Finnish store then. It does have NZ in the Store Region list, so I assume it works.

Phew! Not long to go now

Anybody can help me, I got that golden frog vpn. I turned it to new zealand and started steam but it's still the belgian store with long countdown timer.
Anybody has an idea what I'm doing wrong?
