Can anyone tell me how do you assign people? i read you need to be in workshop mode and then walk to people but still i get no option.

Go into workshop mode, press A/X to select the command option then walk over to the thing you want them to do and press A/X to assign them.

Those of you who are annoyed by the weight limit can use console command to increase your carrying capacity.
Its the same exact command as New Vega's.

I'm very new to Fallout and I feel like something is wrong with my carry weight. I only have a few guns which are about 5 each and only the armor I'm wearing which is again about 5 each and yet I somehow have 240/245 at basically all times and am constantly going over limit. All the crafting and healing stuff seems basically weightless. Where's my unlimited carry weight mod? Hurry dear modders!

Edit: Nevermind! Thank you glorious human.

So, Codsworth can say Mr Fuckface but not simple names like Simon lol. At least he says my name (Leevi) or Levi (pronounced the same).

The lag seriously isn't that bad. You adjust to it and if you're speaking over something like Skype you may be able to figure out how to time things. But you won't find a better option really.

Yeah, I've made due so far. Just figured I'd try to see if there was a better known solution this time, since I want them to have a great experience. But it's a minor thing in the long run.

Thanks for confirming!

I don't understand the name system. Only Codsworth says your name? And it's only the last name and not first? So If I use my first name as my last then Codworth will call me Mr. First Name? Or did Bethesda only record last names and not first?

Question for anyone who hasn't used a VPN to unlock the game yet:

Is Steam prompting you to preload the game again after you have already done so?

I can see Fallout 4 in my Uninstall Programs menu, so I'm guessing that even though I'm being prompted to preload the game again, I shouldn't need to.

I feel blind but I can't find (Sanctuary Hills right after you emerge spoiler):

The Russell house which, according the drug dealer's PC, has a floor safe. I see other houses with the owner's names on the mailbox but not this one.

Anyone find it?

Some of this stuff is weirding me out, like some of these voice actors are Oblivion-level bad, and the utter deja-vu of playing this after a NV playthrough, like its hard to tell them apart too much mechanically.

under 7 hours left!

maybe going this:

str 3 armorer/some basic carry ability..
per 4 locksmith and will use bobblehead to get demo expert, I like blowing shit up
end 5 aquaboy! I want to explore the water.. I'm taking a bit of a risk here because I'm only guessing that there's much water exploration, but I like the idea of it... and at worst I still have a few extra hp
char 4 wasn't sure what to do here, I might want to eventually get local leader but I"m not sure, and I'd also like to be able to pass some charisma checks..
int 5: scrapper, then book can get me to science
agil 5 action boy, then maybe later I can look at raising it for other things
luck 2

Are there no working free vpn's right now that aren't overloaded with their aus/nz servers?

I've tried like 5 of them now that people recommend and all of them can not connect to any of those servers.

So I'm new to Fallout. I'm thinking of doing a character high in Charisma and Intelligence. It sounded like a fun build. Anyone have input on this? What can I expect? Good, bad?

Wait, so is it practically impossible to get through the beginning on survival, or does it just involve a lot of running around in circles hand-waving with your hair on fire? Because I'm good with the latter

Using character creator I decided on:

Strength: 5
Perception: 2
Endurance: 3
Charisma: 2
Intelligence: 8
Agility: 5
Luck: 3

Is this problematic at all? Haven't played a Bethesda game since FO3.

it's good for pacifist runs or runs with minimal combat

depends on how you are gonna play

Lack of weapons visible on your character model is slightly disappointing. Nothing game-breaking, but it just doesn't feel right. Mods to the rescue, I suppose.

Rest of this game just feels so good, I can't believe it.

Good.

Can I still place them randomly in peoples cutlery?

Yup. Assuming they don't completely explode, that is.

You'll level up fairly quickly. If this build isn't meant for a melee though it seems problematic though. If you're going for melee you might want to consider getting the ninja perk in the agility tree. And the better crits in the luck.

I asked in another thread but I'll ask here. How scarce are explosive weapons? I loved using a build for them in New Vegas but I was wondering if there's enough grenades/whatever to build my character for it from the start.

Depends on what you're planning to do with it. If you're going to use firearms, I'd suggest putting more points into Perception.

.

That's really disappointing. I hope that gets modded in quickly.
