Man, this fucking game. A little exploration story, spoiler tagged for your benefit. No story spoilers at all, some very mild talk about one location but that's it.

I'm looking for the Corvega construction facility and find Lexington. It seems abandoned enough. I stumble upon a Super-Duper Mart and decide to venture inside. I find a Protectron locked in its charging booth. I remember I found a subway token on a dead wastelander so I set the Protectron's routine to subway patrol. The robot scans my token and lets me carry on.

As I explore deeper into the building, a metric fuckton of Ghouls start slipping in. These guys crawl through the fucking windows like it's the Walking Dead up in this bitch. I whip out my sawed-off shotgun and begin blasting faces, kneecaps and any other type of limb that gets too close. As I round the corner and kill the final Ghoul, I notice something laying on the ground between two aisles. It's the Protectron, surrounded by four dead Ghouls. Little guy gave its life for me.

Emotionally moved by this robotic altruism, I finish looting the Mart and head deeper into Lexington. At this point I decide to tune my Pip-Boy to Diamond City Radio. As the upbeat tunes of "Butcher Pete, Pt. 2" start blasting over my speakers, some Ghouls decide to attack me from behind in a narrow alley. The fight spills out into the open street and I find myself surrounded by angry radiation victims. Shit's looking pretty fucking grim, let me tell you.

Then, all of a sudden, half the fucking Ghouls blow up. Several rusted cars go up in a fiery nuclear explosion. My health gets dropped below half and most of my limbs get crippled. I manage to limp back into the alleyway and dispatch the final Ghouls. I take a peek around the corner and see a Defense Turret raining down bullets on some angry Ghouls. Then, from further away, a fucking Raider in Power Armor uses a goddamn Fat Man to blow them all to smithereens.

At this point the air is colored red from all the explosions, shit's ridiculous. I sneak my way up on top of a building and take out the Raider. I steal his Fat Man. From my high vantage point I snipe some of the Raiders defending the Corvega Plant and then make my way to the facility.

As I crest the hill I see a few more Raiders. I quickly take care of them. A slightly somber tune starts playing over my radio. "Don't they know it's the end of the world", the one from that fake audio trailer two years back. Right as the singer utters those words I hear the wind pick up. The sky turns a nasty shade of green. My goddamn first radiation storm.

There's still raiders out there, but as my geiger counter starts emitting warning sounds I stumble through them in search for an entrance. My health is reaching the critical level at this point. I finally discern a door through the radioactive haze and stumble in, to safety.

This fucking game, you guys.

Wow, simply amazing...

Can't wait to get my copy tomorrow

Quick question about stats and perks

In FO3, I vaguely remember building SPECIAL trait to 8 and using bobblehead to complete the rank to a 10. Is the setup similar with this game or should I just cap a trait, like INT, to a 10 from the getgo?

There are bobbleheads, so capping traits isn't recommended unless you don't plan on finding them.

There are still bobbleheads that grant +1 to each SPECIAL stat, yeah. I wouldn't recommend starting with any SPECIAL stat higher than 9 unless your build concept really calls for one of the level 10 perks as early as possible.

Any one on pc got any tips for scrapping stuff in settlements? It's really annoying having to press r then enter for every item if I'm scrapping a lot of stuff.

Can we VPN to unlock on Steam?

You sure can.

Game is not even out in the Americas yet, and it's already making a dent on the charts.

Played it for about 10 hours today. I'm very underwhelmed to say the least. No interesting quests so far, lots of follow and kill quests, hope that gets better.

It all looks and feels like a major Fallout 3 expansion and because of that, instant fatigue reared its ugly head.

I'm liking the settlement stuff but I don't think I'll spend too much time with it at the moment.

Some aspects could have been explained a bit better too, I can see first time players getting really lost.

Odd, my BB account says my item is ready for pick up.

Anyone know if it is worth trying to get it early at BB? Or will they be denied to sell it when they ring it up?

Unless Bethesda has made a change to their difficulty system, you can change difficulty at a whim.

you can change on the fly, I started on very hard, then moved to hard and normal when i got stuck. IMO start with normal at first until you get some guns and armor. Very Hard early on is super rough and ammo is kinda scarce in the beginning. I ran into 2 legendaries that I just could not kill and when I respawn at my most recent checkpoint and headed back to the legendary, they weren't there :/ I've since moved back to Hard and things are much more manageable now (lvl 12 with about 6 hours played). Tho that's just my experience with my low End build

Been trying to find more food for the first settlement at the beginning of the game, am I not suppose to be able to find enough? I've looked around Sanctuary and I can't find any more other than the cabbages that were already there and some melons.

Damn, this is how you sell a game!

3 hours and 45 minutes til unlock. Gonna get shit for sleep tonight but tomorrow is my last day of work before my 19 day vacation. All those suckers who took their vacation time in Summer are reeeeeally jealous of me right now, lol

My mother practically begged me to give her some ideas what to get me for christmas. I caved and let her get me 2 5 inch Vault Boy Bobbleheads.

I feel like such a dweeb.

Can anyone confirm that the "Science!" perk simply allows you to mod energy weapons? If that's the case I don't need to spec for it since I'm not very interested in them.

Grown ass man here surrounded by toys and collectibles. Whatever.

Can't wait to play this tomorrow. To bring the price down I've sold a bunch of Dota2 items I've gathered over the years. So far after an hour I have almost 40 dollars in my Steam account. <3

there isnt much around there, diamond city has farms in which you can harvest crops for your settlement

advice/early mild spoiler?
Do the minuteman quest, it'll bring you to another settlement that has a bunch of crops you can harvest and replant in Sanctuary

Yes, science lets you mod laser weapons, BUT there are some normal weapon mods that require SCIENCE as well, such as nightvision scopes

Basically anytime you are prompted to press Enter, you can press E instead, makes things a little easier.

So I have never been to a Best Buy Midnight(11pm) launch before, but this is my first time for Fallout 4 is it any different than GameStop? because I dont want to be confuse when I get there. >_>

What's a good amount of Charisma to have for most checks? I'm starting with 6, so 7 with the bobble, will that get me through most checks and add a bunch of dialogue options?

I've been asking this same question over and over and never got a straight answer so I said fuck it and I'll probably start with 9.

Guys charisma checks just means whether you don't want to have to reload every once in a while if you fail an important one. If you're only putting points into it to pass charisma checks seems like a waste.

PC version here. First impressions are not good. Going through the tutorial section, my gun kept disappearing, so I couldn't even see where I was aiming without using VATS. Then, at what I assume is the end of that area, I open a terminal, read some entries, and quit out, only I can't move. The view I'm controlling is completely detached from my character, and I just see his floating hands and gun stuck there pointing in one direction, while all I can do is look around and clip the camera through my arms. So I quit the game, and reload. I've lost the last 15 minutes of gameplay, but it was mostly poking around the area, so I can just zip through quick. Only, I spot a terminal I missed the first time around, and I go to that. It never loads up, and I'm locked in to an "interacting" state with it. The only thing I could do is quit again and go back again.

I don't know if I have the heart for this

EDIT: Yet another restart has gone fubar when interacting with a terminal. fuck this

So what's a good starting point to make sure I won't fail an important one and have to restart?

Also, I like what I've been hearing about the Charisma perk line but I would like to put less into it so I can pick up some other combat perks.

So I haven't done this in a while... How does it work for the VPN again?

Do I just shutdown Steam, start the VPN in an Europe country, start steam and then it should work?

I had the gun bug, I just quit out and came back in and it's never happened again. Never had that other bug.

So far nothing since the gun thing.
