Semi-props to Bethesda - I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the game case to see the female SS art with Dogmeat on the other side of the game's cover slip. The male SS is on the back of the game case, but the female SS' art is a lot bigger. It's a not a bad trade off, and I was surprised they included it.

I'm pleased I didn't go with the Pip-Boy Edition, as the lunch box + steelbook are gorgeous. I sadly don't have time to play until later today, so I hope y'all are enjoying! (Or sadly waiting, depending on your time-zone.)

NICE

Thinking of doing a melee build, which I've never done in ES/FO games.

I'll pbly mix in explosives to add more to it. What would roughly be a good SPECIAL build to start out with ? I haven't even looked at any perks yet.

In first person mode, is there an option to toggle the gun from bobbing up and down? That annoys me, so hoping there is an option to stop it from doing that.

Dunno, there's something about waiting until midnight launch night to play the game with the rest of the country. VPN just cheats that for me.

It's a start! 3 more floors to build.

Has anyone had any luck changing the Field of View?
I changed the default FOV in Fallout4.ini but it doesn't make a difference. Typing 'FOV 90' in the console gives me that FOV for a second then snaps back.

I thought I saw someone saying use the ~ key and then type FOV, or something to that effect, earlier.

you mean holstering it? If so hold the reload button

No. I mean when you are walking around with the gun out, when you walk (in the videos) the gun is bobbing up and down, is there an option that does not make the gun bob up and down when you move around with it out of it's holster?

I'm thinking of going for a smooth talking character with higher intelligence what do you think about these stats. I tried to make it fairly balanced with most of the stats in charisma and intelligence.

S-5
P-4
E-3
C-6
I-5
A-3
L-2

Any improvements?

Does anyone know for sure if there are high-tech mods affected by Science! that apply to melee weapons? Or are those all dictated by Blacksmith?

Strength: 2
Perception: 6
Endurance: 4
Charisma: 2
Intelligence: 8
Agility: 3
Luck: 3

Going for a gunslinger type character, I think this will do nicely.

2 hours left on PSN for us law abiding citizens in NA. Controllers and elites are all charged up.

Wouldn't a gunslinger typically have higher agility?

Remember that agility also brings more action points, which aren't just for vats. You can use them to sprint. Agile characters can sprint longer and if they have that perk they take much less damage while sprinting... If that's an angle some of you haven't considered.

I hate it that every time I access a terminal or other things that force you to go first person, I have to switch back to third person manually after that.
I hope there'll be a mod to fix that.

Its tough, i see the apeal of faster AP regen which is what you were gunning for with Agility 4 i think. Imo, charisma and int will give you access to companion perks and robots you can use against the enemies to overcompensate for this.

This whole Charisma thing is what is throwing me for a loop. Normally, I would make a Perc/Int/Agilty build but reading about how important the trade and craft stuff is I want to try something else. I keep ending up 1 point short for what I want.

On the second mission exploring the neighbourhood with Codsworth, but he won't move from the family home? Have I encountered my first glitch already or am I not doing something obvious?

Played about 2 hours on Xbox One. Have seen some weird bugs with dialogue. Nothing gamebreaking at all.

I also think the game looks great. Only RPGs I've played are fallout 3 and NV. This is a better looking version of those In theme and style. World looks great imo

I could totally pick this up tonight but I've got the painful dilemma from the fact that it's going to be university crunch time the next 3 weeks.

He might have pointed something out to you and you haven't picked it up yet

Currently studying in Japan for a year, but I had to go out and get a PS4. Right now mainly for this game, but there are of course other games like DSIII that I can't miss either. Nothing's gonna stop me from experiencing Fallout 4!

Now it's just back to waiting for it to unlock. Would have gotten the JP version if it kept its release date, but it's unfortunately been delayed until the middle of December, so I went with the US version instead.

I keep seeing a lot of builds with low luck. Its worth noting that the late Luck skills are really powerful if you want to use Vats at some point you'll chain multiple crits together and cause targets to randomly explode. It seems to be a fairly useful Skill compared to before.

Lol amazing.

After digesting everything from today I bought this on PSN and got my preload going so I can play tomorrow. Bethesda games have always been my jam, warts and all. Fallout 4 seems pretty massive and that's what draws me to these in the first place. Hopefully we see some performance patches to smooth things out sooner rather than later.

Keep standing in front of him when you press talk? It took me a little bit to get used to how conversations work in this game.

This series...like...

Metal Gear
Tomb Raider

...has never done it for me. I even put in 4 hours of Fallout 3...game just didn't grab me.

Oh well, maybe on a Steam sale next xmas.
