Game is beautiful on PC and the subtle improvements to various things are nice. Shooting feels perfect.

Oh and there are a fuck ton of people playing this on Steam right now. I don't know what the average is for new games but it seems impressive.

I will say to save system on the PS4 is a nuisance, Quick save works fine but regular saves I mean really I don't need all those menus and confirmations

This is a heads up for players regarding a certain skill book found in the early game that I don't think is common knowledge and may be helpful:
When you return to your old home, check the baby's room for a SPECIAL book and activating it will give you one extra stat point of your choice.
i must be blind... where in the room?

nm, found it.

ahahahahah game crashed right when i was in line to get my vault suit... ps4

facepalm... saving sucks on ps4 also..... gonna have to save every 5 min lol

Right, so I picked up the PC version, a physical copy because I can't get broadband at my address so I have to use a wireless broadband module @ $10AUD for 1gb.

Go to install game, one DVD? Don't tell me the rest of the game is a download. Yeop.

Seriously Bethesda, I've heard of this happening with some other games before but this is still fucking bullshit.

Just put the game on multiple discs. I'm basically fucked now. I don't know how much is left to download before the game can be played, but at 1gb for $10, this could potentially cost anywhere between $1-200 for me to play. What a joke, if I buy it physical, I expect the game discs to contain the fucking game, not parts of it.

So what am I looking at here download wise?

Around 24gb.

So..

Ive never played any fallout game, and the only RPG game ive played since Secret of Mana was Bloodborne. So pls gaf, get me started.
Im thinking about getting this game but i need a little guidance.
What skills should i level, how should I create my character, what is important in the world of fallout, what should i look after, and what isnt important?
Could someone give me some direction?

Early location spoiler.

Anybody know what the office key opens found at the hospital? I checked everything and can't find a door that requires it.

Around 24gb.

Fuck you Bethesda. Seriously. What a joke. Going off my new account wireless broadband I picked up today, $130 for 22gb. The game would cost me over $200 all up to play. They can stick that up their fucking ass. Why bother with the physical release like that. Blahblahblah piracy my ass.

Well I picked up Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void, lets hope it's not the same.....Fallout 4 can go back now.

Just spent the last 2 hours making the male and female characters... I'm going to get some sleep (3-4 hours or so).. Wake up and marathon this bitch.

For anyone that ordered the gold edition from Best Buy how much did Best Buy charge you for it? On the card I used to ordered I only have a charge for $47.01 and the order shows the season pass as being free, I did received the email for the season pass code already.

Anyone on PC only able to play in borderless windowed mode without stuttering? Any way to make the borderless window my native resolution? The ini doesn't seem to do anything.

Help.

Unpacked game and played for an hour. Pretty good so far.

Tried to exit the vault and got stuck in a loading screen forever. Restarted game, but now nothing will load. Tried to start a new game to load from within the game. Nope.

Restarted steam to try to opt in to the beta. Fallout 4 is unpacking... again? Guess i'll wait another 20-30 minutes and try to play again.

I knew I should have given my character more than 3 luck.

1.5 hours in and I fucking hate this. I hate being a wife, I hate having a husband, I hate having a child, and I hate having forced emotional responses to this shit. I want my character to be happy everyone is dead and she is free but I'm fucking stuck being sad about shit I don't actually care about. I just feel like in previous games I'd have the choice to be concerned or not, here I'm stuck. And is pisses me the hell off.

I know I was worried about this from all the shit I've seen leading up to the game (I did try to avoid too many details though), but I didn't expect it to be this bad. My hype has been crazy derailed. Gonna try to power through this, but totally off the idea of getting DLC and definitely not giving any shits about Elder Scrolls/Fallout stuff in the future if this is the continued direction for Bethesda.

I'm ready to take on the wasteland!

PS - Codsworth definitely says the name Furiosa. So fucking awesome

The higher the difficulty, the more likely you are to encounter a legendary enemy. They are very tough but are likely (guaranteed?) to drop a rare item of some kind.

Thank you kind sir. I would have replied sooner but I got sucked into the character creator... Just now finished. I wasn't trying to make me... but I ended up making middle aged me...

On the other hand it's always hard to make a character's face that looks good from a distance and I think he turned out pretty well.

War. War never changes.

...

War. War never changes.

...

War never changes.

... Walk into a room

War never changes.

in the future "war never changes" replaces hello as the greeting of choice.

"war never changes"
"war never changes to you too"
"war never changes over there!"
