There's a distress signal in or around Hardware Town and I just can't fucking find the thing, it's driving me nuts.

I'm only a few hours in but already kind of regretting some of my perk choices... gunslinger, lead belly... idk man.

I was enjoying using pistols until some mirelurks kicked my shit in. And I just bought Lead Belly cuz I'm not swimming in stimpaks and food be radiated.

My Amazon pre-order of the Pip-Boy Edition for PC that I ordered right as the E3 conference ended still shows as shipping today/arriving today by 8pm but no tracking number or anything. I'm worried. Is it normal for Amazon to not update the order in their system?

Saw this gif on Reddit. A radroach uses "armor". Thought it was funny.

I actually figured that would be on there. Has anyone actually tried it. The name I picked isn't on that list, unless it's been updated in the last few minutes, and it was said.

That stuff is out. And even though I knew it was, it still felt kind of odd at first.

Thanks. So what do I do with all the duplicate weapons? Scrap 'em or sell 'em?

I'm confused at the lack of the skill system.

In Fallout 3/NV, I could pop some mentats to temporarily increase my INT and thus lockpick skill and bump it over the next threshold to unlock an advanced door or whatever (pushing me from 73-75 lockpick)

Can I even do anything like this? If I raised my INT with mentats I'd still need to buy the perk for advanced locks...

Also, if a perk has a 6 INT requirement for example, if I'm 5INT and use a hat or mentats or something that temporarily increases my INT, can I buy that perk? Can I use it once I drop down past 6 again?

Bumping cause I can't seem to find info on this online... anyone know?

Not really impressed with the perks so far. Not sure how I wanna spec my character so far. I guess just improving my special until I figure it out is the game plan

How viable is stealth?
Seems totally viable to me. I don't understand how exactly it awards XP though, can anyone explain that?
Mmm,not sure what difficulty I should be playing at :(
Been playing at Very Hard, as someone who is basically new to Fallout. I'm really liking it, it actually is very hard. Stuff kills me very quickly. There's a lot of saving before a very tough spot and trying lots of different approaches. Very satisfying to come out alive though. I don't think I'll be lowering it.

Haha, pretty early on I picked up one of those wastebins and hung in on a mailbox or hydrant or something. Was pleased with the physics.

Can anyone explain how the hacking works? I have the first Hacking perk but I really don't understand how the system itself works, "likeness"?

You just fucking met the dog and you expect it to perfectly listen to your every command as if you've trained him all your life?

c'mon son

Is this sarcasm? Or is there something I should be doing to train him? He's been with me like 8 hours of the game so far.

Is there a way to "hold" or "drag" an item without picking it up? It's always some wonky command on the controller...

Just picked this up on PS4, downloaded/installed the patch, and now when coming to install the actual game, it's been hanging on 0% for about 10 minutes now. Is this normal?

Is this game super hard or what?

Been playing for maybe 3 hours and I´m get killed A LOT.

It is very challenging if you go off the beaten track. I'm playing on hard and I've died a few times but not a huge amount. One of the times I got killed
I got blown away by a Raider who looked like he was wearing Power Armor in Lexington and he blew me away with a Rocket Launcher

About 7 hours in and level 9 playing on hard and getting my ass kicked routinely. Everywhere i go there's another legendary or supermutant or mirelurk or group of ghouls waiting to kick my ass. My ammo is extremely limited, only my weakest guns have ammo right now. Also very few explosives which can help a lot in a pinch, but I am almost always low or out.

I'm just scraping by. I'm not ready to lower the difficulty because I like that the world feels dangerous.. But progress can be slow.

After spending 1 hour last night building fences/barriers around Sanctuaaaaraaaaayyyy I really do hope there is eventually a mod for longer sections of wall.

Can anyone explain how the hacking works? I have the first Hacking perk but I really don't understand how the system itself works, "likeness"?

Likeness = the number of characters in the right space that matches the password.

Say you pick HALO.
And the real password is FAME.
It would have a likeness of 1 because the A is in the same spot as the password, but none of the other characters match.

I never really read to much into it before launch so sorry about the noobishness, but is the Special stat and the perks linked on the same exact level up screen?

Like I only get one point each level, but I have to choose if I put a point into special or get a perk right? Doesn't it seem kind of limiting

You don't really need to turn Sanctuary into a fortress. Enemies won't cross the river so they will always go for that dinky bridge near Red Rocket. Focus you defense there.

I'm in love with the personality on the perk chart and on the hub during gameplay. The amount of atmosphere and love that Bethesda piled into this game puts it in the elite.
It is nice they give you something while it installs. I never played a Fallout game, so explaining my skills is a nice use of time.

I can't get into the groove after that first mission. Don't really know what to do. I need a good mission that is doable.

Some spoil tag what mission you did after the first one please.
