Suddenly fighting raiders who refuse to take any damage even through multiple sniper shots to the face. Any suggestions how I kill this "raider survivalist" guy who is basically a walking tank?

Really not a big fan of the game just forces you to abandon VATS, abandon stealth/sniper tactics by having 15 fast enemies bum rush you all the time. I much prefer the sections of the game where you actually fight other enemies in gun fights.

I end up using Vats when there are lots of fast enemies more than I do it in normal gun fights. Gun fights I at least feel I have the bearing to aim.

The worst part of the conversation system is that you can't re engage the NPC and revisit past conversations. The interface is annoying as crap too, although this is my first PC fallout so I don't know if it's par for the course.

Might be a legendary enemy or you wandered too far off the beaten path. Does he have a skull by his name?

You'll need scrapper to get reasonable amounts of screws for crafting.

I think that's the point.

I'd argue the Local Leader perk in Charsima is pretty essential. Lets you establish supply lines between settlements so you have a big pool of materials.

Might be worth ignoring if you hate crafting and base building.

There's also Gun Nut, Science and Armorer that are needed for crafting some upgrades.
Should I max these out or stop at a certain point?

Erm... isn't that why VATS is useful? Quickly drop a couple of enemies, swat one away with a quick melee, move back a few feet to create separation from the other targets moving in, blast a few aiming down the barrel and finish the straggles with VATS once AP is replenished?

Works for me always has!

The ui/controls are the worst in the series.

Several hours into the game so far, enjoying it so far. Spent hours on the base building stuff. Am mixed on the dialogue though, much fewer roleplaying options :( Anyone know if you can change your face later on like when you visit the plastic surgeon in Rivet City? Want to give my gal some badass looking scars.

Where can I find a doctor early game? I am very irradiated.

There is one in Covenant, which is not too far from the settlement you'll get sent to help in the early sidequests. I actually went there because the NPC for that settlement for some reason decided to stay the night in Covenant.

Ya he's part of the
minutemen helping allies quests
. Didn't have any problem at all with the other ones but suddenly not only is the legendary hard but the random raiders take much more to kill than even the quest directly previous to this one.

I THINK Diamond City has a plastic surgeon. I ran into him in the bar and he made a comment about my facial structure, so I figured he's the plastic surgeon.

This game seems less forgiving on exploring than FO3 was. It seems anywhere I go there are enemies with skull icons indicating they're multiple levels above me. I got tired of dying so I decided to go do the 2nd story mission and I ran into a Mr. Gusty who literally killed me before I could even react.

Yea turned it on and rebooted the game like your supposed to. Windows firewall popup appears when you do, gave game full access

If I had to guess your router probably has some sort of privacy setting that prevents devices on the network from talking to each other. I'd look into your router's settings for anything like that and disable it.

Well, just went through my first
Radioactive rainstorm.

Was in
corvega plant doing the quest for preston,
was scoping out the place when
it started.

I had no idea what was going on, and it was awesome. I had to adapt fast, because
being outside dramatically increased my rad.

Ended up fine, but it was an awesome surprise. Man this game is good.

I can't find my dog. . I tried going back to the starting vault and he disappeared.

Also I restarted my character for a different build. Level 9 already without doing the first real quest, I should be able to hit 12 or 13 soon without even doing the first quest. Crafting is fun.

Haven't gone far yet but im curious, do ghouls till run at you?

Feral ghouls are super cool now, they run and trip and lunge and stuff. Actually, all the enemy behaviors are pretty hugely improved. Pretty cool to see people using cover and stuff. It's nowhere near the level of dedicated shooters, but it's a massive step up for Bethesda games.

Thought I'd play about an hour tonight, just wanted to get to Diamond City to see how it looks.

...3 hours later, and I've done like 4 sidequests and am nowhere near Diamond City.

Incredible game. The Fallout sequel I wanted.

Settlement stuff will be the death of me, God damn OCD.

I can't leave Sanctuary until every table and chair are straightened up, couches are in the right spots....ughhh..

Serious question for serious people:

Can you not switch the perspective in third-person mode?

From left to right, like in every other third person game ever.

Apparently this wasn't possible in FO3 or NV, can't remember myself though.

Thoughts please?

Enjoying the game so far though, I already like it far more than all the other 3D fallout games, simply because I am having much more fun with the shooting and action gameplay aspects.

Nice, glad to see enemies aren't straight up stiffs no more.

I'm almost convinced to make this one a few of my pickups of the year, anyone playing on PS4 would you recommend it as a good experience so far?

The only stuff that can be straightened up is the green stuff, right? Yellow scrap just removes trash?

Have a PS4 specific question, on save files.

You know how there's a little screenshot when you make a new save file? Well, after you override that file, does your screenshot get updated?

I'm like six hours in, and my save file screenshots are still all of Vault 111. It's lame.

I just wanted to take a break from playing to state that the UI and everything about the controls is dogshit for the PC. My worst fears were confirmed with the conversation system too, it's hilariously dumbed down and even worse super intuitive. You never know what your character is going to say and you never know what will actually end a conversation. And, now you no longer have any idea of possible skill based conversation options nor precisely what skill you would be using when you have the appropriate skill for the convo. Also, don't even get me started on the laughably bad "cinematic dialogue camera," how hard is it to just follow every other RPG out their and lock the player in the dialogue and frame the scene in standard A and B shots?

How could they have thought any of this was a good idea? Modders have their work cut out for them.

Is there a bug when trying to heal crippled limbs? I went into the Pip-Boy under status, and wasn't able to select the crippled limb, but used a stim-pak, and it didn't show healed. I closed the game and restarted, and the limb is healed, but my character is still holding his arm like it's crippled. Playing on PS4.

Oh ya I know it's unforgiving for exploring but that's not what I was doing. I completed part 3 of a quest then I was going to do part 4 when the difficulty went from like mild to endgame hard lol.

stupid question but how do you assign people to stuff around your base?

I see the controls but I can't get the miniuteman from Sanctuary to guard the base
