Does anyone know how to dismiss Dogmeat completely?

I never want to see him again. The dog is always in my way in tight quarters, and the idea to add whining to his audio was absolutely the worst thing anyone has ever done. My own dog doesn't whine, why would I want to listen to this little shit whine on the screen every 5 seconds?

God I hate this dog.
Traded him for Codsworth the first chance it gave me. Great change. The dog drove me crazy too. Codsworth slices and dices the shit out of enemies which is nice. He'll use his flamethrower too time to time.

So I'm assuming the person you set to do the supply line between settlements can die and thus stop your supply line? After I told one to start a supply line between two settlements I followed him and they seem to travel between them to keep it alive, if he gets attacked and killed, I'm assuming it'll end and I need a replacement? Anyone know?

I didn't actually realize they physically moved between them. I assume they can get killed then. You can check your trade routes on the pup boy. Is the trade route still there?

Also, does it matter how you connect your settlements? Can I have all of them connected directly to a single base, or do I want more of a continuous line?

So... has anyone gotten the glitch where dust still covers all the important bits of the Pipboy screen? And more importantly, how could I fix this? Because I didn't even know that was a glitch until about 15 hours in and no way am I reloading an earlier save or starting over.

Honestly, there were so many other minor problems with gameplay, that I just assumed that nobody tested to see if you could even still read the pipboy with the dust filter on and it was just another terrible feature, not a bug.

The whining is the worst. It sets off a deep-seated psychological effect in the brain as well, like a baby crying.

I really like how he grabs enemies, and with his armor he lasts a lot longer. But yeah, I think I might have to go with the robot as well unless they can mod out the whine.

Thanks, I just recently got the option to get Codsworth. Might give him a shot; he's easily the most likable character in the game so far, IMO.

your answer. Hopefully you are playing on PC.

I also load my companion with all my loot, and often head back to Sanctuary to drop all the junk, weapons and clothes i don't use. Its kind of a pain.

PS4, so gonna have to stick with it until mods show up.

Stupid question, I know but:

When I leveled up and was given a chance to allocate points. Where are the points available number? I use the RB to add stars to the perks. I just don't know how many I have. Also, when I have used all the points is it supposed to save? There isn't an accept prompt or anything. Thanks.

Recently started to naming my upgraded/legendary weapons. Shit's addictive, makes 'em feel more like Exotics in Destiny.

jesus im getting companions left and right now. I guess I just happened to do 3 sidequests in a row that gave companions, but damn lol

Didn't even realize you could rename weapons. Gonna have to give that a go. I've been seriously ignoring weapon modding for the most past so far, lol

RB isn't doing anything, that's just "browsing" the perks. Press A to actually allocate a point/unlock a perk.
They make a big difference.
No doubt, it's just not really a big part of my build. I'll go all out with it someday I'm sure.

When I first came out of the fault I added a mod to my little 10mm pistol (the one I got in vault 11 at the start of the game) and named it Bill.

I made some other mods, and now that I have gun nut level 3 I plan to soon do some more mods. I just need some damn adhesive.

There is a thread that talks about Adhsive. You can cook it.

Well I just had my first game crash doing the Trinity Tower mission, very frustrating. I am playing on PS4 by the way. The game ran pretty well until I got to the Diamond City area. I'm getting lots of slowdown around there and now a game crash as well. I didn't lose much progress thankfully but it still pissed me off enough to take a break for a little while. I'm still liking it a lot, but man does the poor performances really sour the experience.

Major bug encountered with the "Local Leader" perk.

I sent two settlers from one settlement to another, they left, but never showed up in the other settlement. Map still shows that they're in the original settlement, but they're not. So they're pretty much gone.

Tried passing the time, jumping around different locations, again and again. Nothing.

How boned am I?

Thread move fast.

Just want to see if this sounds familiar to anyone.

Wait. I encountered Codsworth first. Are you guys saying that the dog is actually the first companion you're supposed to meet post exiting the Vault?

If so, where am I supposed to find him?

Well.. after you exit the vault chances are you walk past the gas station where the dog is at. Making him your 1st likely companion. But you know.. since you can go anywhere, maybe you went a different way and missed out.

Yeah, I went straight to home. Damn it.

Yeah, it's the same as how you could rename gear in Skyrim. I'm still running with the first 10mm Pistol I got, and have renamed it Lucky 10 :D

You find Dogmeat in the Red Rocket Gas Station right by Sanctuary. I've also just unlocked the Minutemen guy from Sanctuary as a companion as well, gonna see how he fares on my next Quest run.

huh? can you do that? it would be great. My wife was shocked he was named Dogmeat and thought i had named him. hahaha Its kind of a dark/weird name.
That harks back to Fallout 1, where there's a dog in Junktown you can feed a skewer of meat to and he becomes your companion. His name was Dogmeat.

Is there a way to give the Dog a name? He's just "dog" in my game, not even Dogmeat. I'd like to name him after my dog IRL.

I didn't actually get the option to have Codsworth be my companion until much later when I was talking to him, around Lv. 10, back at the sanctuary. You run into the dog outside a gas station/convenience store just past the bridge connecting Sanctuary to the next town south (forgot the name).
