Thanks for the tip, running alot smoother nowCapping with RivaTuner on top of vsync got rid of it for me. Worked with both the game's vsync and forced vsync via nVidia Control Panel.

Hey, anyone else having issues with audio channels being inverted? When I load the game the audio is coming in fine, but after going between areas a few times the direction of audio inverts, and it's bugging the hell out of me. Anyone know any fixes other than restarting from desktop? I know it's not my soundcard doing this, all my tests of it come out fine.
That's going to be impossible until SLI support is enabled. See my post above yours for getting a locked 30. It runs really nice at 4K/Ultra if you do those steps.Anyone running the game at 4k? If so, are you able to max out the settings and maintain 60fps?
Thanks!
is your CPU OC'd? also what GPU you have?drops in the cities were resolved completely after i turned down shadow distance to medium (2600k)
Stutter free game for me required:
1. Disabling ingame vsync in falloutprefs
iPresentInterval=0
2. Enabling exclusive fullscreen mode in falloutprefs
bBorderless=0
bTopMostWindow=0
bMaximizeWindow=0
bFull Screen=1
3. Enable Nvidia Vsync (not adaptive).
4. 60 fps RTSS limit for a bit less mouse input lag.
This is if you can run 60 fps all the time. If you can't, then remove the RTSS limit, or set it to 61, and enable adaptive vsync. If you have gsync then just step 1 and 2 will suffice. Also disable mouse accel in fallout4.ini bMouseAcceleration=0 , it adds a stupid amount of mouse lag.

Wait..what? It has no SLI support as of yet? WOW!
Pretty sad, huh?Wait..what? It has no SLI support as of yet? WOW!

Anyone have experience with how long it typically takes for SLI patches to come out?
Huge difference between Ultra/High and Medium though

This. I have the same cpu and a 4gig 770.I've got a 960, but my CPU is really old now (i5 750). Any ideas on the best settings?
same setup as me, so shadows would do the trick, hmmmyup i went through every other setting but it was the only one that caused the drops to subside, i'll have to manage until they fix it
yeah 4.4, 980ti
It doesn't for me.
not very well, you have to go into the options menu to enable/disable controller.
when you turn controller on, m/kb stop responding
when controller is turned off, m/kb respond, controller doesn't
For those messing around with shadow distance, I want to share my findings and current settings.
VERY interesting. I am anxiously wainting your final report.
That doesn't make any sense. I have a 2GB GTX 770, and an i5 3570k (4.2 GHz overclocked), and only 8GB system memory, and I've been 60 fps for most of the intro area and the wasteland. I just used the autodetected settings. Have you tried that?
Also, I'm Windows 7 64-bit home premium. What OS and driver version are you using? Have you done any manual overrides in the nVidia control panel that might affect things?
The reddit tweak posted earlier has helped me considerably in cities(Lexington, for example). I am maintaining a solid 60 now even in those areas.
Which Reddit tweak was this?
Yo, I need this - but when I click to download (manually), I get this error:http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/102/
This right here helped me more than anything else.
Using a 560 TI and i5-2310, 1080-60 FPS on medium (and one or two on high) settings.
I'll be shocked if you guys with much more powerful set ups than me don't see an increase in performance.
The site has run in to a problem, please look at the error message below...

Anyone with the same setup? How's the performance?
Can someone please tell me how to lock the game at 45fps without getting any stutter? Sorry if I missed it somewhere else in the thread.

Setting iFPSClamp in INI bugs a lot of things out. I had to remove it.
I have promised myself not to actually play the game until the end of the year, but I did want to see what the performance would be like on my system. The game autodetected to "Low" settings. My laptop's specs are:
i7-4720HQ (quad core, 2.6 GHZ but can reach 3.6 GHz)
GTX 970M (with 3GB)
8GB RAM
SSD
1920x1080 screen
However, I decided to change all the settings, setting just about everything to "High" (with the exception of Texture Quality, set to "Ultra", and God Rays, set to "Low"). That still resulted in a smooth 60 fps (some drops to 55 fps) all the way through the intro area, inside and outside. So...I'm not sure why the autodetection was so low. *shrug*
I had issue with this in all my games after a certain driver update, all borderless windowed game would get like 20 fps.
What they neglected to update users with is that they added a new option that has to be turned on in nvidia control panel for 3d settings. In the global settings change Monitor technology to G-Sync.
I also had make a fo4.exe profile to make sure it was set to that, and to make sure my fallout editing of configs for uncapping fps was set to read only because it will keep overwriting that field back to capped.
This will happen if the frame rate exceeds the refresh rate of the display. It's the intended behaviour with Gsync on together with Vsync off.
Hmm? Gsync is working for me.
I run full screen, v-sync off in fallout .ini and limit fps with Nvidia Inspector and everything is fine.
I dont have newest drivers though.
Does the game ready driver actually improve performance?
A friend of mine keeps getting super weird graphical glitches while he's playing, apparantly happens randomly after an hour or two of play. Anyone got any ideas? He doesn't want to redownload the game for obvious reasons.
