All power armor suits have an exo-skeleton. Think of the exo-skeleton as like your vault jumpsuit - it is the base of your armor, but then you add pieces to it. What you traditionally think of as Power Armor are the pieces you add to the exo skeleton, like the T-45 helmet, chest piece, arms and legs for example.
Yeah I know that, my question is how am I able to go around in just the exo-skeleton, since it sounds like even provides significant benefits over my current Vault Suit and Raider plating. Does the exo-skeleton require the Fusion Cores as well?

Came upon a group of Super Mutants on the road. One of them was a Suicider. They were surrounded by ruined cars.

I aim for the arm holding the mini nuke in VATS. 30% chance of hitting. I cross my fingers.

I hit the mini nuke. The Suicider explodes, along with the cars and his buddies.

This is what vengeance feels like.

What level are you? I didn't do that quest until I was level 30 so it was kinda easy for me.

I'm not sure on the specifics but you'll want to make sure you can unlock the Armorer and Science perks so you can upgrade the Power Armor pieces. Being able to upgrade them has been huge in getting my X-01 suit.

Cool.. what kind of weapon do you use with it?

Heavy, chemical, or laser?

Unlike Fallout 3 and new vegas the main quest gives shitty exp compared to side quests thats a good thing, I remember in F3 it gave like 1000 per quest ridiculous.

Havent been following this thread that closely. Are there any crazy vaults or areas I should go check out? Really miss the Matrix vault and trippy stuff from 3 and havent come across anything like that yet.

Genuinely didn't expect the game to be this hard, even on normal difficulty but enjoying it more because of it. I came across another vault purely by accident and it was a constant game of peek a boo as I could be killed in a few hits! Managed to do it though, very satisfying.

This REALLY bugs me. Why can't I build tall enough walls? I've tried multiple stairs, but they always go to high.

Honestly? Whatever I have ammo for. I was using a plasma rifle for a while but ran out of ammo for that so I switched over to the Ashmaker minigun for the time being.

Being able to just take huge amounts of damage is pretty great when going up against a full battalion of Raider Wasters and Survivalists.

So uh, how do I fix this?

It's like this every time I load up now if I don't stare at the floor. Happened randomly while building a settlement

If you let one kill you then you get a trophy :P

uh. so [Minuteman Quest]
FUCK THE MIRELURK QUEEN OMG
such a pain in the ass

I did that one today and found it pretty easy and then a
legendary mirelurk popped up when I was cleaning out the rest of the eggs on the wall and that was somehow tougher to kill.

Sorry if this has been answered already but does anyone know if when you break down junk for parts do you still get the leftover parts? For example if an item has radioactive materials screws and adhesive and it is automatically broken down for radioactive materials do the screws and adhesive get discarded or added to your items?

So my girlfriend got me a copy of Fallout 4 since she'll be out of town this weekend. Problem is, our internet is crap and I've heard there's a 20 gig download even with the disc installed. My question to you guys is, how exactly do I go about using Steam's backup feature to transfer the files from my laptop (which I'll have to download it onto) to my desktop (where I'll be playing it)? I have 32 gig flash drives, so is it as simple as using Steam's feature to backup the files to that and then "loading" them on my desktop?

added to your workbench.

Funnily enough the thing I'm always short on is screws. Seems like you could make those out of steel.

So I just finished Kendall Hospital. that place is no joke at level 11.

I can't tell if I love this game or hate it. I'm constantly questioning everything this game does because it's so poorly explained/realised/focused/ but there's an undeniable entertaining element to it all.

My friend who isn't into games that much, in so many words said the same thing. He started a party chat out of the blue just to tell me this and usually he's fine with whatever, he's not picky at all about games (frame rate, f2p crap, etc etc).

I think in my heart I know it's woeful, it feels cheap and knocked together but it's almost a weirdly endearing product. If this had been a massive mod or a major expansion pack I'd be head over heels and singing its praises for how fun it is that this scrappy little team made something so expansive and cool in a janky way.

Ultimately though this is a half step in terms of innovation or any meaningful changes. I feel like I've been hoodwinked into buying a different game than the one I'd been led to believe I would get, which makes the very specific things they chose to show about this game before its release make a lot of sense.

I don't know why I'm shocked though, the first time I finished fallout 3 I was fucking pissed off at how bad it wrapped up and then post DLC it was one of my favourite games of all time.

One thumbs up.

Why are so many fusion cores in the trash bins?.......... Who throws nuclear batteries in thrash bins in this world? can anyone explain it?

Im trying to build a shelter but the pieces are confusing me as stupid as that sounds. One of the Metal corners seems inside out!?

Even though I spent the last week really nailing down my SPECIAL and I stayed up until 7am playing last night I think I am going to reroll and start over tonight.

<sigh>

War....war never changes

Sorry to hear that friend. I feel good with my build but my fiancee build is just a complete copy of mine. She didn't think she would be enjoying the game but she loves it. She would benefit more from an endurance focused build. . she only has 1 endurance.

Why can't we scrap junk from our inventory via the workshop interface? Do I really have to drop everything on the ground first?

Do you wear it everywhere? Do you have trouble getting the batteries for it?

This would be my second time starting over because my previous builds didn't fit with what I was experiencing in the game. I see the worth of the power armor and just need to know the headaches of actually using it.

Does anything even happen with settlements or can I simply not bother with that whole aspect?

The biggest early thing you can do is farm and create Vegetable Starch via the farmed items which is a great sort of Adhesive.

I'm not sure what benefit they have besides that yet beyond creating some conveniences like shops where you want and whatnot.

I dunno why they have so many middlemen for scrapping junk. I wish I could jsut scrap things outright. It is the only reason I pick up heavy junk, to scrap it for vital parts like gears, oil and screws.

I just realized something. If I went back down into Vault 111, would
my wife/husband's body still be there in that cryo pod? So inexplicably even though the player character has complete access to his/her deceased significant other's body, he/she won't even gently carry it out of the Vault to bury it near Sanctuary or some other place that they had good memories of before the War?

Must not be a very loving relationship if the player character is fine with letting the flies and roaches of the abandoned Vault 111 have their way with their spouse's body... honestly.

Did you try to open the pods or use one the computers at the very start? They're essentially broken and stuck shut.

Go to the workshop press transfer then press transfer all scrap. It is really easy to do, but you aren't ever told how to do it.
