I just realized something. If I went back down into Vault 111, would
my wife/husband's body still be there in that cryo pod? So inexplicably even though the player character has complete access to his/her deceased significant other's body, he/she won't even gently carry it out of the Vault to bury it near Sanctuary or some other place that they had good memories of before the War?

Must not be a very loving relationship if the player character is fine with letting the flies and roaches of the abandoned Vault 111 have their way with their spouse's body... honestly.

i say we stop telling people about his magic lockbreaking skills. those that cannot appreciate the glory of dogmeat are not deserving of his wonder.

You can stimpack them <insert-multiplayer-FPS-with-this-mechanic>-style during a battle too if you want.

Can you tell one more person Hawk? And what's this about the gun in the beginning?

I think the building aspect of the game is too complicated. It's a nice idea, but it should be a bit more automated. Like you should just be able to build a house, not have to put together the house bit by bit. Or you should just be able to apply lights and power to a house or even a settlement with one action. All those individual lights and pylons and walls and floors and roofs - it's a bit nuts. I can't spend the time doing all that, and I don't really want to either.

I would love a mod that simplifies the whole process, if it were possible, because I do like the idea of creating settlements and attracting people and adding cool stuff to it.

Can you customize your appearance after the initial character creator? Maybe some in-game mirror somewhere that allows for it?

Hey I have a question about creating things in your places. Specifically, with electricity as I am...not the brightest when it comes things like this.

For example: I have a lamp and lightbulb hanging in my house that won't turn on because it needs electricity. So, I built a (medium) generator literally right next to my house. So, do I connect a wire straight to the bulb? Or do I create one of those switches and put it somewhere? How does that connect to the bulbs?

Thanks!

Uhm, there's prefabs of houses. It's right there in the interface. You just plonk them down.

So what's the deal with Power Armour? Obviously you get a set close to the beginning of the game, but there's also Raiders running around in it, and they're got some kind of exo-skeleton suit underneath that I've seen mentioned in loading screen pages that can stop you taking fall damage, increased Damage Resistance, and other stuff without having to actually wear Power Armour.

Anyone come across this exo-skeleton as an equippable item yet?

All power armor suits have an exo-skeleton. Think of the exo-skeleton as like your vault jumpsuit - it is the base of your armor, but then you add pieces to it. What you traditionally think of as Power Armor are the pieces you add to the exo skeleton, like the T-45 helmet, chest piece, arms and legs for example.

So this game clicked for me today. I was pretty mixed on it yesterday. But today I've played some better quests, did some real exploring, and having a blast with my luck build. The game still has some issues, but I'm having a blast now. Seriously, playing with the luck perks, this is my favorite gameplay in the series.

Found a Legendary Glowing One when I was exploring a tunnel. I almost died. Left the tunnel and stumbled across a Raider outpost. Killed them all and took their loot. Finally got a sniper rifle. I've basically being doing no substantial quests this session, enjoying the random exploration too much. Brought back a lot of materials to use back at Sanctuary Hills.

You need to place pylons. Attach a wire to the generator to the pylon and that will power a little area around it. Hope that helped.

Man this game just jumps in difficulty post Diamond City.

I feel like I specced wrong. Luck build is great but the changes to vats don't favor it with laser rifles.

Ok, but it would be nice to have more options. And all the furniture, decorations and power stuff all appears to be individualized. I can't even figure out what all that stuff in the power menu is for.

I just think the whole thing should be a bit more streamlined. This kind of micromanagement really requires like a top down view and a sim interface.

When do opportunities to talk your way out of a fight appear?

Atm, I can only try (and fail) to pacify animals

Question:

Is there an easier way to turn items into scrap?

So far I have been going to a bench and collecting the items and dropping them.

There has to be an easier way.

HELP!

I just transfer all my junk to the bench. Then whenever i have to use it it takes the pieces from whatever is available in there.

Sure, don't do it. You don't need to turn junk into materials, it gets converted automatically as you craft. Provided you stashed it into the workbench instead of some random chest.

They definitely need to rework the way power is ran. The pylons don't cover enough of an area as they probably should and you should be able to run wires a lot further with just poles to hold the slack.

Hmmm not sure I like the new leveling system. Also, I hate crafting in general so seeing a lot of workbenches isnt that fun. Im doing a sneaky ranged build.

uh. so [Minuteman Quest]
FUCK THE MIRELURK QUEEN OMG
such a pain in the ass

What level are you? I didn't do that quest until I was level 30 so it was kinda easy for me.

Any input Gaf?

I'm not sure on the specifics but you'll want to make sure you can unlock the Armorer and Science perks so you can upgrade the Power Armor pieces. Being able to upgrade them has been huge in getting my X-01 suit.
