Lab Zero's Indivisible to feature indie guests (Shantae, Shovel Knight, Juan, & more)

I'm actually pretty curious to see how Lab Zero is going to handle Juan's moveset. It seems like a no brainer to me that they'd incorporate one or two of his signature special moves along with some kind of grapple, but the stylized visual effects were definitely a big part of his special moves' identity.

im super curious as to Calibrettos style in this... Joe Madureiras art is hyper stylized, so i wonder how it would look in Lab Zeros style.

What was the last game with a lot of indie cameos? I remember Dust An Elysian Tail having loads and you could have a party with all of them dancing to the beats of DJ ducks.

I just discovered this one today

Bounty Battle

It's a super smash bros style game that's also getting indie guest characters. Can you guess them?

That's only a few. The Unslain from Doko Roko is going to be in it, the Shieldmaiden from Eitr, and more

Joe has signed off on the line art, and we're waiting on approval for the coloring now.

Looks pretty great, IMO! Jon did a great job, and robots are kind of his thing.

Although he's so large and detailed we may need to have ZONE animate him in Flash.

I've been hearing that if the fundraiser hits 900,000 in the next few days they're going to extend the fundraising by 20 days. Is that true?

If that's the case I'm pretty sure that's going to happen. It was at $800k or so last night and it's already at 840 now.

God I really hope so, I really, really hope so.

I usually wouldn't say that but man... I would hate to see this not made. Whatever they can do to extend it, fund it, give it more time.

I don't know why, but I'm pretty surprised there wasn't a Shantae cameo in this, considering how comparatively more appropriate her inclusion seems.

Correct! We need $900K before the last 72 hours of the campaign, so it looks like this should definitely be happening now. :D Of course, it's up to Lab Zero to decide if they'll ask for the extension, but I don't see why they wouldn't at this point. The campaign has been gaining momentum and they can definitely reach the goal with the extension.

They said they were working on more collaborations, but they're not ready to announce those yet.

The risk is that the extension kills the "oh shit, deadline's soon, gotta donate now" crowd for 20 days. On the other hand, the odds of half a million being raised this week is very low, and I wouldn't be too surprised if it starts tapering off once the $900k mark has been hit. This has been a very weird campaign so far and most of the rules of thumb has largely be ignored. So, who knows?

I was really curious to see how Lea would shake out since they almost make a point of not being cute in the game, and I wasn't sure about her skin tone.
Looks great!

Juan and Shovel Knight look so good.

I don't know who Lea is, but she looks cool. Time to Google her game.

Edit: Oh, she only looks that way in concept art :( Well, Curses n Chaos still looks pretty fun.

Large robot is large.

Going to try to get him in at this size, even if it means he can't fight in tight areas. Mike thinks that could be an interesting strategic element to having him in your party.

that is... a really cool idea

"Sorry, I'm too big to fight here"

He might also still be available, albeit in a weakened form.

i.e. He's like that if there's enough room, but if not he'll only be able to fly from offscreen and do a rocket punch or something.

Maybe a two-stage boss fight sort of mechanic

you're fighting a boss (let's say inside a castle) and you beat him the first time, he does the whole BWA HA HA NOT EVEN MY FINAL FORM and grows gigantic, busts through the ceiling, starts whaling on you

'bretto drops in to even the odds, fight continues on the parapets

Annie gives a good opportunity to see how different Indivisible and Skullgirls' styles are. I know a lot of folks think they look identical when looking at different screenshots, but side by side they're rather different!

SG is definitely far more cartoony than Indiv. Her SG head is considerably larger than her entire torso!

And now that all the gang's together:

Still have a few more we're working on, but not likely to be resolved before the campaign is over, unfortunately.

Haha obviously you can't rush things because everybody is doing favors for each other but that's like the least useful time to be able to be able to make such sorts of announcements :P

Well, we always have the post-campaign slacker backer period, if we're successful.

And could help with sales when the game's out.

I love me some crossovers, but some entries really clash with the rest of the game's tone - I guess those can make up for it by being mechanically unique?

Since Annie is in, what are the odds of having Eliza in as a (secret), boss, or at least referenced in stage artwork or something?
She seems like she'd fit better than most of the SG cast.

While on the topic of indie guests, I can't help but thinking of Elodie from Long Live The Queen making use of a complete physical training regime, which of course would include full combat.
