Is there a point in the story you have to get to to be able to set up supply lines ? I have the 2 local leader perks but the only options I get with settlers are "Move" and "Command", nothing about supply lines.

They really missed the mark when it comes to the floor models for settlements. Since some of the settlements are on super uneven ground they should have made some of the prefabs and floors have foundations that clip through the ground for at least a couple of meters so nothing is floating. Even indie games like The Forest do that.

Switched from Normal to Hard difficulty today and really enjoying the step up. It's forcing me to pick my battles more carefully and makes most hits pretty impactful. Figuring out how to take down the
Raider Psycho
on the roof of that Lexington building was a satisfying challenge, as was working through Corvega.

The only thing I'm noticing is that Codsworth is extremely effective at soaking up bullets while I take out enemies, which can make things feel too easy, regardless of difficulty level. I really like hearing his reactions to things, but I'm considering going solo if only for the extra challenge.

10+ hours in and still haven't even scratched the surface. So fantastic.

Agreed. There is a pre-fab to place foundations and create even ground but that takes away from actual dirt ground so you can't place any crops there.

They should just patch it and let us clip items.

How did you mod your bat? There are some fun upgrades available early with common materials. I went for a red one wrapped in razor blades.

I haven't yet, need to get the Blacksmith perk right?

I wasn't planning to, but thinking I'll go with a melee build honestly. The melee combat isn't ground breaking, but it's hugely improved from FO3/Skyrim, and feels so satisfying to pull off.

It should be RB/R1 or LB/L1 (I forget which) when you have them highlighted in build mode. There are some residents you can't assign to supply lines (seems like mostly named residents), but you should still see the greyed out option and button prompt even for them. Can't remember if there's a point that unlocked or not, since I got the perk after I already had 4 settlements up and running.

I've only played a small bit since launch but have nothing to do today but get neck deep into FO4. Should I explore a bit doing some side quests or make some progress to the main story?

Trashcan Carla's beast is stuck on my roof. I can't figure out any way to get it down.

Haha, maybe build some stairs?

I'm on PC, like I said I don't see the option at all, not even greyed out.
I'll just wait for a bit, I only have 3 settlements right now and not far into the story (just got
Piper
).

So how do you check to see what settler is assigned to what task? Many of them look the same, and sometimes it seems like their assignment doesn't "stick", especially in regards to farming. I've had a few that I've assigned to very specific plants, and they would just roam around elsewhere and nothing would grow.

Plus, you might have seven people assigned, and then while you've been away for a while, ten more people could show up. How do you prevent putting someone you already assigned on a new task with someone new simply because they look too similar? It doesn't help that they literally are all named "settler".

Am I supposed to just go around putting outfits on people that kind of match what they should be doing? That's a pretty big hassle in itself.

How do some of you guys have crazy ammounts of ammo? I have nothing i cant even kill more raiders for some cause i cant fight them lol. Do i have to go to diamond city? Or is there other towns? Super frustrating was never an issue in 3/NV

Theres a glitch for infinite ammo and buying stuff from vendors for free

Ive only used it for adhesive and screw shipments tho

I'm rapidly approaching the point where I need to choose a faction to side with. I've already spoken with the
Brotherhood
and the
Railroad
but still haven't really gotten in touch with
The Institute
.

Anyone who has been through the main questline or chosen a faction yet who can talk about the benefits of going with one over the other? I don't really care about achievements too much since I can just go back to a save to play the others later if I really want to, but for my first time through i'd like to choose one that has the best benefits.

I'm really not keen on the
Brotherhood
because I don't like their attitude.

Yeah, get the Local Leader perk (requires 6 Charisma) and assign a settler as the linking person to Red Rocket. Works with other workbenches/settlements as well.

Oh, so that's the trader stalls? Gonna take a few level ups for me tho to pump some points to charisma.

With these stalls, how's the income? Any of you guys rolling in the caps with them built?

No. The stalls are for level 2 of the Local Leader perk. Level 1 gives you access to workbenches of other settlements, like Red Rocket's.

I've only just set up stalls so I don't know the income.

Has anyone been hit with the invisibility bug? I had a boss fight when he was completely invisible (kind of like predator) and now this one where I went into stealth and was invisible.

The income from the stalls is alright. I have 11 points in charisma.. i built some stalls in the red rocket settlement.. got 12 people there :)

Sure you don't have a piece of gear on that grants better sneaking? Because that's the effect that gives.

How do I get more settlers at my only settlement (sanctuary?) i have an overabundance of food water beds defense and electricity but only seven settlers. Ive even built that tower to attract them but nothing!
