It's kind of ridiculous how weak Vertibirds are, especially if you scope out their defensive stats with Awareness. I think Bethesda just wanted to show off their big boom effects a little more.

So does anyone have any idea what the Vault-Tec lunchboxes are for?

Are they just a random collectible or is there a quest associated with them?

Not sure but I noticed some of them have names on one side, so maybe? I love that they play a sound and throw confetti when you open them.

Now, overdue books on the other hand, they have a purpose... which I wish I knew about sooner.

Why can dudes throw nades...like they just went trick or treating? It is my ONLY complaint.

I found this named dude (which I don't think is a legendary since just a name and always there) who has all this metal armour and you can shoot his head off. He has some peashooter and can hit me more than I can with him on my sniper. Even a super mutant came in and died to his peashooter in a few hits.

But seriously..grenade spam is out of control. What kind of difficulty is that =S

I love the uptick of EvE encounters in this game. Three faction shootouts joined by Ghouls, a Knight beheaded in the streets be a Raider, Children of Atom battling a Behemoth, Assaultron vs Death Claw, crazy mini nuke explosions and Veribird crashes. I'm running into insane unscripted shit constantly.

So are there any creepy Vaults?

In 3/NV you could find a vault and its all dark and scary and weird stuff in it.

Of the 3 I've found, they are either happy go-lucky Vaults or bases for Raiders.

Yeah this side of it is awesome, I went to clear a raider compound out to find the brotherhood of steel already attacking it with aircraft and ground forces.

It was awesome just to stand back and watch the carnage.

End game spoilers:

Why can't you confront anyone at the institute about synths replacing people. (You can actually witness it happen)
Why can't you just wait until Father is dead and then make policy changes regarding the synths?
Why the fuck can't you confront the railroad about wanting to blow up a nuclear reactor?

Those are my main issues with the story.

Agreed. This part is great. Sometimes I head straight into the battle, other times I stealthily skirt around it. Just adds a new dynamic to the game that is really fun.

I've ran across a 3 way battle before too - BoS, Gunners, and Super Mutants. Mini Nukes poppin off everywhere.

I saw 4 Super Mutants walking down a road, I crouched, pulled out my Syringer Rifle and then popped in a Beserker Syringe shot the Suicide Mutant and watched the other Mutants freak out, one tried to bail, the other tried throwing a molotov at him but the Suicide Mutant raised his arm ran at him and BOOOOMMMM. So awesome watching the suicider chase someone else haha!

I seriously thought this was going to be an option, because it was so obvious. It reminded me a lot of the ending to Fallout 3, where there were some really obvious choices that they didn't let you do, like sending Fawkes into the chamber.

Maxed out my relationship with Strong. Not only was it annoying to roll with him all that time with him getting pissy every time I picked a lock, but the payoff was a perk that's 100% useless for my play style.........................

Sorry big guy, you're exiled to The Slog for the rest of this playthru.

How the fuck do you get a companion out of power armor. Preston jumped in one and now he's been in it for the past couple days.

Also the dude picked up a fatman somewhere along the journey and decided to use it point blank in defending a town. I thought I was still under attack but the entire town started shooting preston after the enemies were dead because the mininuke hit so many people.

Fucking hell this AI is dumb as rocks.

Choose the "Talk" to them option and an option to tell them to get out of the PA will be in there.

Is this an early game bug ?
just got back to my settlement and it's asking to build something that requires power . So I put a few lights on the building , built a generator and put a wire between them but the message still stays ?

Also can you assign workers to pumps ? Or does that come later ?

On the subject of lunchboxes, sometimes you'll get a model, eyebot or Mr gutsy etc, are these just display items? and if so, is the an piece of furniture like the bobble head display to display them on?

I think I messed up somehow towards the end.
I ended up declining Father's request and got kicked out the institution, I was doing quests for the railroad, how far was i supposed to keep working for them to side with Railroad?

More spoilers with a rant of plot holes about
FATHER

It is impossible for Father to be Shawn, 50(60) years is a long time (Shawn grew up till ten before being taken to institute which is weird and enough time to beat the purpose of him being brought to the institute (to have a child not corrupted by the outside world or by radiation), everyone acts like they remembered it like it was recent (radio broadcasts, companion talks, and that memory read the doctor said this is a recent memory *cough 50 years ago is not recent! cough*

too many plot holes in this, There is no way father is Shawn simply put.

I've talked to him a bunch and there's no option. I don't even know where he got the armor. Is there a command to respawn them?

Odd that dialogue should be there. Is he still your companion? Others have had success with dismissing them and they got out of the PA.

The lights prob require a conduit placed near them? Took me a while to realize just the work light required a wire, the other lights operate on their own assuming a conduit is within range and there's enough power.

Entirely possible they are just using you as a tool. There was no definitive proof that it was actually Shawn presented. It'd be a good way to get a father that is desperate for closure to do what you want.

Sooooo I didn't know you could remove mods from guns until listening to the bombcast. Do you just equip another part and then the mod goes into your inventory? I'll have to note this when picking up weapons.

Yep -- so if you find a gun with a mod you wanna put on your gun of choice, you first have to build a generic version to replace it with and then you can put it in the other gun for free.

Took up Cogsworth and now he's just strolling around Sanctuary in a power armor with no fusion core or actual armor pieces on him.

According to Shaun He has never left the institute and his first memories are there. The flash back with kellog must have been with the Shaun synth which would explain why it's recent and Kellogs place hasn't been resold. If it were 50 years ago the mayor wouldn't remember him. It would also make Virgil older than he was. SS solves the loopholes.
(You should definitely be able to confront Father about how heartbreaking it is that he lets you think SS is him)

Looks like you can. It won't place or what? You'll need to power it up, too.

It doesn't let you build structures if doing so would completely deplete a resource.
I think I messed up somehow towards the end.

You follow it as long as you want to.
BoS Instutute and Railroad all have seperate endings. Eventually you'll have to go against two of the factions whatever you decide
Mega spoiler for End Game
Personally I think the railroad is the worst ending, because there is no peaceful option whatsoever, you blow up a good portion of the map, lose all the Institute technology, and cover the Commonwealth with radiation once again. You destroy many lives for a few synthetic lives.

Yeah it's amazing, works really well in steam browser (overlay) too.

I love too that you can search the magazines for anything that looks like it might be interesting to your build. Just type melee into the search and all melee related magazines show up. Want to boost energy weapons just type energy.

So any weapon mods that I have in my workbench aren't currently on weapons? I can discard/sell them or put them on other weapons (how?)?

man those 35 court defenses really didnt want me to get that X-01 armor huh
