Where are you guys storing all your goods?
Junk I store either in my Sanctuary or Red Rocket workbench.

Interesting weapons I can't afford to carry on me due to weight, like the Junk Jet, I keep in my Red Rocket weapons station.

Basically everything else is sold off rather than stashed.

Does the Armor/Weapons stored in a Workbench get automatically broken down for parts (scrapped) when crafting or does that only happen with Junk items?

28 hours in and I continue to really enjoy this game. I see all of the many flaws it has and fully recognize them, but I just love the world, atmosphere and stories they have built.

This is also the first Bethesda RPG since Morrowind that I've played for well over 20 hours without encountering an overwhelming feeling that everything I'm doing in the game is rather pointless. A lot of that has to due with the stories being told in the game, which I'm finding a lot more interesting than any past Bethesda game, but I think it's also largely due to them finally adding in interesting loot and reasons to pick up all of the junk.

It was a real slow burn for those first five hours or so, but things really kicked into gear for me upon reaching Diamond City. There are still a lot of niggling issues that bother the hell out of me, but the overall experience is just really well crafted.

I got the echo this, I played many bethesda games and know their massive flaws. I'm not the biggest vanilla bethesda fan but Fallout 4 is a massive improvement for the most part in many areas Bethesda was lacking in their previous titles. Namely the gameplay, the world design, the amount of content, the atmosphere and so on.

Now if only they didn't seek to streamline some things and ruin them completely like with the dialogues and the ability to actually roleplay in a RPG like this, I'd say that Fallout 4 would have been one of my favourite games of all time.

Otherwise it's a very very flawed game but I'm having much more fun than their previous games and overall I'd have to say it's a good game but we must let bethesda know what parts we dislike on so they'll keep that in mind for their future titles.

Uhh...

Haha, I was in an office yesterday and there was a teddy bar sitting in a chair facing a desk with a coffee mug in his lap. Apparently there is one reading a newspaper on a toilet somewhere.

The fun factor of this game is through the roof.

The trash bin and ice machine at the Red Rocket Truck Stop.

I'm going to start storing my pre-war money and chem stash in ice machines.

For people that have completed the game. Is pre war cash able to be traded in for anything?

I haven't found anything but it has a value of 8 caps.

So I've heard rumors that (Institute Spoilers)
the Institute will actually abduct some of your settlers and replace them with Synth copies of themselves who will eventually attack the settlement from the inside...

Is this true? Because if so, that's badass.

Does storing stuff in your workbench make it available in the building mode? I just assumed it had to be in your inventory and had been dropping all of my junk on the ground in my base and scrapping it all for raw materials one item at a time.

It does. You go through your raw materials and then the items themselves when building.

Man. They programmed some enemies not to fall for chasing "through" doorways. Trying to cheese this
Deathclaw
and he is not having it.

Yes. Though it only takes from your Junk and Aid tabs. It won't break down weapons or armor. You have to do that yourself. Also if you setup trade routes between settlements you can use those Junk resources at any that are connected, but it won't gain you access to the other items in the work bench.

So if you put all your excess guns and armor and what not in your work bench in Sanctuary you won't gain access to those items when you're at your Red Rocket station.

Bethesda are really getting mileage out of those teddy bear poses.

I wonder if there's an area where teddy bears and cymbal monkeys are sitting in a tea circle.

Awesome! That will encourage me to pick up more junk, then. I was very selective up until now due to weight issues.

hmmm what to put points in now. Armorer to continue to level my armor pieces, or Blacksmith so I can upgrade those power armor arms

probably armorer, I rarely use power armor and I like how your armor pieces change look when you upgrade them, all mad max style

its that or more points in random weapon types dmg but thats boring :(

I'm starting to realize the possibilities of the settlement customization. I built a crib for my settlement but need some toys you can only get through scavenging. I built a pool table, but now I'm determined to go find pool balls and a pool cue.

You could probably make some pretty funny scenery in your settlements.

As far as I know you can only deconstruct things in your settlement boundaries. They should make it (and I am positive there will be a mod for it) so that you can deconstruct anything. Like you are walking down the street and see a funny sign, deconstruct it and put it up at your base.

Man, I'm consistently impressed whenever I venture out into the Glowing Sea. Bethesda really nailed the oppressive atmosphere such an irradiated wasteland ought to have. Really nice contrast with the rest of the game world, feels like you're on a different planet.

I'm debating whether to put points in Blacksmith. Is there more to it then melee weapons/ power armour?

I have scavenger maxed out and you get crazy amounts of ammo.

I love how when you look at the sun after a radiation storm in the Glowing Sea it washes out everything in a pale sickly light. Just great fucking stuff. Definitely my favorite area of the game so far.

I will never do melee and I dont even particulary care for power armor so I probably still wont use it outside the glowing sea (even in the DLCs), so yeah blacksmith isnt really a option for me

So last night something interesting happened. I was almost level 35, and my XP bar filled up and it gave me a perk point, but still said I was 34. After gaining some more XP, I then dinged 35 with another perk point.

Quick question: Will the perk that allows you to breath underwater and not take radiation damage help me during that Glowing Sea quest?

Just bring some rad-x, rad-away, and/or Power Armor and you'll be fine. Properly equipped the radiation there is barely even a consideration.

Same. I guess I will skip that and put more points into something else.
