I think some of those also take everyone by surprise until some news about edits for localization. Sometimes it may mean nothing relative to the rest of the game, like Bravely Default's or to a greater extent Xenoblade X's, but then you get cases like DT2 where it's more a "where there's smoke there's fire" situation and you find out that seemingly innocuous anime RPG really isn't.

I still forecast they're keeping the international release at arm's length because it's going to turn out to be an aggressively content-light game that will lean on a rapacious amount and dollar amount of DLC to fill it out. Asian markets are simply more likely to play along and not make a stink when this becomes clear, predatory media monetization is par for the course in those markets.

When the game inexplicably has all the characters they "didn't have time for" as expensive add-ons by the middle of next year, then we'll see western release of a more content-complete version.

This has always been a very strong possibility. I like the way you think.

I bought the original on Xbox to have a perv and to play co-op with some mates, one day my friends and I were having so much fun with it my g/f saw us and decided she would have a go, she liked it so much (and she was pretty good at it) that she got a few of her friends over and they formed a team to take on me and my mates, it turned out to be a regular friday night competition we would have and it was hella fun so I bought the 2nd one on 360 hoping to relive some of those moments but we both agreed it was garbage so we only played it a handful of times.

I'm buying the next one to have a perv but fingers crossed it has some of the magic of the original (they need to focus on the volleyball and fuck the other poolside activites off).

One of my favourite things is that outside the gamer sphere social justice is still a completely valid and accepted term. I'm actually thinking of applying for some social justice law-related jobs when I get home, stuff like refugee advocacy or pro-bono firm work
