I bought the original on Xbox to have a perv and to play co-op with some mates, one day my friends and I were having so much fun with it my g/f saw us and decided she would have a go, she liked it so much (and she was pretty good at it) that she got a few of her friends over and they formed a team to take on me and my mates, it turned out to be a regular friday night competition we would have and it was hella fun so I bought the 2nd one on 360 hoping to relive some of those moments but we both agreed it was garbage so we only played it a handful of times.

I'm buying the next one to have a perv but fingers crossed it has some of the magic of the original (they need to focus on the volleyball and fuck the other poolside activites off).

The "that sure rocketed that game to success" thing was sarcasm. Bayo2 reviewed super well and should have been more place's GOTY, but Polygon's review was an outlier and GG took it as an affront.

My point was that GG championing a game didn't matter for it in the end.

I know people are commenting on Play Asia offering the English version, but thanks for mentioning HMV Japan. They're just great. I used to shop at Yes Asia back in the day until I realized I could just pay Japanese retail prices.

That's the difference really. Nobody is writing essays about the Dead or Alive series. It's not as problematic as, say, how Kojima chooses to portray women in his games. Dead or Alive isn't pretending to be anything other than smut, so at most it can expect an eye roll.

I agree that the tweet was posted to generate a few more pre-orders, however I don't believe the guy running their Twitter page actually expected it to receive the level of attention that it did.

Looking at their usual 0 - 40 likes they received on a tweet prior to this, I highly doubt they would have anticipated thousands of likes and followers.

I'm pretty sure that both of those sites only stock the Japanese version of the game. You need the Asian version if you want it in English. As Shouta said, YesAsia has that one

To be fair, GG has had a victim-complex since the beginning. They love to project that onto their victims but they've had one from the very start. It really shouldn't be surprising as many people as it has in this topic.
