I'm not sure I want it anymore. Depends on the price. Having 30% off Birthright and Conquest already probably puts this out of my price range. I don't care for the extras, I just wanted the cheapest way to get all physically.
If the price difference is high enough I'll just live with having the third campaign digitally.

Yeah, I realized that in order for the special edition to be cheaper than what I already have, it'd have to be less than $87 before tax, which is like hahahahaha unless we somehow manage to get it in during the 30% off period.
I already went through the art back when it was released and I own the 3DS pouch, so literally the only advantage of this FE Fates SE is having (presumably) everything on one cart.
As for getting Birthright and Conquest, I think there's a feature where it checks which versions of the game you own. The thing is that it requires one of the carts and then you have to own the other version digitally. I think it's just for bonus things, so if that doesn't matter to you then I guess you can get both carts. But seeing as the other route is priced at $20 in US, it'd probably be cheaper to get the other version digitally.
Basically, I just wanted Conquest as a cart that I could take between 3DS systems while getting Birthright for cheaper digitally.

Game clear files won't carry over if you have two separate carts. Plus IIRC the 3rd route on the SE is locked to the 3DS that activated it anyways. Correct me if I'm wrong

Which is weird because the games recognize each other's casual in-chapter saves. I felt a bit shafted that I wouldn't get the extra items just because I decided to go physical with both.

The gameplay is really, really good though. Much more tactical than Awakening. Even in Birthright where it's mostly Awakening 2.0
But eh, to each of their own. Nintendo is milking this game to the bone and they know it.
Wait, you can't get the extra items with two physical copies? That's depressing.
I don't want to go physical + digital, ad I'm sure this SE will sell out in the blink of an eye. :/

Back when Titanfall was releasing they had a 10$ store promo credit offer on Titanfall. I never received it and after I contacted them twice they had no idea this promo existed.
But if there's a price drop in one account, due to system error, wouldn't that be applied to all accounts that had the game preordered before the error occurred? Isn't that the case with Xenoblade X?

Yes that is the case. The cheaper SFV probably got his specific order adjusted, either accidentally by a CSR adjusting the wrong order or intentionally trying to get the two pre-order bonus as other have mentioned in this thread, or everyone's order will get adjusted soon because it was an actual Amazon price error!
I don't have the FS one, but I wasn't charged yet on my BestBuy E3 2014 order.

no, but historically since I moved to Toronto all my Nintendo Friday releases were charged/shipped on Thursday and arrived Friday. Will report back when anything changes of course.
I got Xenoblade for $40 but it wasn't worth the time it took to get it. And I didn't even ask for it to be that low, they just messed up a bunch of times when I tried to cancel a few orders and had to place new orders, then a customer rep cancelled the wrong order, and... fuck it. Waste of time. I just pray my orders don't magically cancel themselves again.

As I said, if my memory serves right the 3rd route on the SE is bounded by a license download, meaning it will effectively be a "digital" game on cart. You can't really run away from digital ownership with the game lol.
What I mean is that if you activated on your 3DS and give your SE cart to a friend he/she will not be able to play the 3rd route on there.
Again, someone prove me I'm wrong please, I really hate to be right on these things.
Has the game been officially confirmed to come to North America? Like obviously it will but has it been announced yet?
I've been checking mine too (also Wii U X at FS). No charge yet.
I think nobody knows if it is the case or not at this point. For the japanese release, the 3rd route was not ready at launch, so their SE is indeed with revelations as dlc. For western release, the marketing has been saying all 3 in a single cart, but it's not 100% clear if it means no download of any kind is necessary for revelations or if you need to download a license or something like that in order to play it.

I thought it was because the 3rd route can be played as a standalone game (or can it?) and it went against Nintendo's marketing.
Although the SE in Japan shipped with the 3rd route on cart. The download for the SE of the 3rd route is only 14MB.

I tried calling Best Buy to ask them to hold the Lunar White controller until tomorrow for me, as it'll still be on sale then anyways, but nobody ever picked up.
I guess I'll just go in, grab one and go to their site to show the Cyber Monday price.
Thing is, I don't even need this thing but want it. I have the defective but working Forza controller (joysticks make ticking sounds, left shoulder rumble seems off), which works, and have a free black controller coming as a replacement for that. Plus my Elite -- which also has the joystick thing -- is being replaced whenever they have stock without me needing to send it in.
I guess I'll just go in, grab one and go to their site to show the Cyber Monday price.

I think nintendo considers invisible kingdom dlc so you'd need to have one of the other two versions of the game to play it.
And ya, that is why it's not clear. I believe you just had to have the SE cartridge to get the 3rd route, so they might consider that as having the 3 games in one cart? I don't know and I suspect we'll only figure it out when it releases.
Edit: I checked again and I think you were correct about invisible kingdom being ready by the base game's release. Sorry about that.
