Anyone that knew anything about DC knew it was happening. Honestly, I'm not understanding why this is a big deal.

I knew he was in it and I also knew the trinity would team up at some point. I guess a bunch of people didn't know Doomsday would make an appearance.

At some point before the films release the fact that Doomsday makes an appearance would become public knowledge. At that point it doesn't take much to piece together what will happen when a bunch of heroes meets a villain.

As Man of Steel taught us
That and Prometheus still sting.

I think Ben looks really great. Like that the battle between Batman/Superman is acknowledged as a lost cause by Alfred and superman says I can kill you man.

So there it is people that have asked why the fight is fair for 10 months.

Tell that to Age of Ultron.

I thought the trailer looked pretty good, then the movie turned out mediocre.

Lol at the people complaining about Doomsday... he looks like a faithful representation of his comicbook counterpart:

It's pretty faithful though you could say, why didn't they include those outward protruding teeth.
It's the bone beard. I miss the bone beard.

The money shot for this trailer is the three heroes scowling in front of flames. Ugh...

I really don't know why WB loves Zack Snyder so much. I really wish he wasn't so ingrained in the DCCU.

I'm quite excited for this fight actually. Much more than the Superman VS Batman one.

Cant wait to see them working as a team to take him down. And it may be an unpopular opinion but I'm fine with this Lex Luthor. A little more weird and eccentric than he's usually portrayed but as long as he sticks with this Cinematic Universe(as in not die in this film) I'm sure I'll grow to love him.

Im still really excited for this movie but...man that trailer was trash, and really, your gonna blow your doomsday load this early? Im not sure how I feel about lex luthor but based off this trailer i dont like him, but hey at least theres humor in this one

Some of y'all are acting so genre unsavvy I have to wonder if you've ever seen a movie before.

Straight up.

"Oh, I can't believe they showed Doomsday! Now I know that Batman and Superman aren't going to kill eachother!"

DUDE.

naw, but they didn't have to spoiler the ending. You can effectively piece together how the movie will go now based on the scenes shown. Sure, you won't get the fine details of why Lex is scheming politicians but you do get a general idea of what's going to occur. Of course Batman and Superman weren't going to kill each other, that's not the point.

It's Lex. He's way too Jokery. The comic relief just goes against the whole tone of the thing.

I wouldn't mind having those lines in the final film but it kills the mood of the trailer.

We have had what two years now and people still don't understand that Eisenberg was cast specifically to play a Zuckerberg type Luthor

that guy was a lot more confident and goofier than his zuckerberg. i thought he'd be more calculated/reserved.

who knows what this movie is like though. the last trailer painted it so serious and this is the complete opposite direction. maybe teh scenes will play better in the movie. i'm just starting to worry this is going to be like dc's avengers after this.

Batman feels pretty stellar in this. All of the relationships between these characters seems right, which I'm happy to see.

I'm looking at Lex and getting a real "this is how normal people act, right?" performance within a performance, if that makes any sense. Hope that pans out and we see the real man behind the smile at some point (I'm sure we will).

And he looks completely out of place in this and is totally rehashing his Zuckerberg persona to the point it's distracting.

No, mainly because I feel like I know the whole plot already. Batman sees disaster, hates superman, meet, whip out their dicks and measuring tapes, batman dream sequence, they fight, luthor laughs evily while delivering expository dialogue, batman and superman realize they shouldn't fight/luthor does something dumb to break it up, luthor extracts secret ooze from zod and makes doomsday, they need to team up to fight him, apparently losing, batman about to die, wonder woman steps in saves batman, fight, win, justice league? yay!

I wouldn't say that was too hard to guess from the last trailer, really.

I'm confused is this even following frank millers dark knight which pits him against superman.. Why throw in wonder woman and then drop doomsday - Which is part of the death of superman. I'm confused about all this.

Fun trailer... Not sure I follow Zacks direction.

Well, it seemed great until the last bit with the monster and Wonder Woman. Then it just became super cheesy and reminded me of Avengers.

Whatever.

OMG. OMG. OMG. That last scence where Superman and Batman are boys and Wondy drops in. The dynamic between them was perfect. Finally live action JL. Glorious. Affleck was born to play Bruce Wayne too. March 25th can't come soon enough!

Yea, but its Doomsday...

Awful villain choice.

He's literally the perfect villain in this movie. You focus on the Trinity coming together and Lex being unveiled as the real baddie and a dumb throwaway character with no depth. He's literally in his perfect situation.

Doomsday is a bland character with little going for him other than his brute strength.

I do love their attention to detail:

Metropolis is shown to still be in the process of rebuilding (which makes sense after all the destruction from MOS), something that a lot of superhero films tend to sugar coat.

Ummmm, is that Scoot McNairy in the wheelchair just to the right of the statue?

I don't necessarily disagree, and I especially think more movies, PERIOD, not just Superhero films, could do with much smarter, cleaner, more efficient storytelling. But then again, I don't think the plot to Batman v. Superman is really "spoiled" by learning

They team up to fight a major villain
Lex Luthor is bad
Wonder Woman is there to help.

Nor do I think that collection of details is particularly out of bounds as part of a larger story that people gladly accept as being "a good plot" in any other superhero story.

The trailer gives away too many key scenes is the problem. Of course there's gonna be a big bad villain. But you can't setup a trailer to be between Supes and Bats and then reveal Doomsday 30 seconds later as the team forms while calling the movie Batman vs Superman and expect it to work in the minds of many here.

The trailer is utterly confused about what it wants to be.

Oh yeah, anyone upset that they found out Batman and Superman team up is silly. Of course that's going to happen and, with two Justice League movies already announced, no one can claim that it wasn't already advertised to happen.

I could do without the visual reveal of Doomsday and the trio together, but that's just me.

Replace "Too funny" with cringeworthy (Lex) and you're spot on.

You are literally the first person to say cringeworthy. Every other complaint re: tone was about dissonance with "the rest of the movie," which is to say, the ENTIRELY IMAGINARY movie some people had built in their heads.

I cannot believe Warner gave Snyder another chance. Why the hell is the management taking such risks with their most valuable property? Of all the directors to give a chance to.. Urghh.. to think I had some hope after the comic con trailer.

So Doomsday is this guy's name? I've never heard of him

LbZhYBK.jpg

Like, probably the single best known superman comic. I don't even read comics and I know the guy.

Although, being zombie Zod is not what Doomsday originally was. This movie's doomsday is really different from the comic book one.

Watched it a couple more times. Such a hype inducing trailer. I see people here shitting on the music, but it really works for me.

apparently it's a sample track (not by Hans or Junkie), not part of the film's score

I don't get the people that are upset about the way the trailer is cut. You have as much basis to believe it's a lighthearted film as you do a serious one because the trailers are presented in totally different manner. I didn't think fans were so divisive, I'm excited that we're getting Bats & Supes, tone is secondary to that.

yeah we got 50/50 odds right now. i really hope it leans more towards the previous trailers. maybe this is just trying to get more of the mcu audience. those films are a big success.
