Great line. Beginning of trailer was good. Latter not so much. Agree it was badly cut, and it sort of deflated the tension. :\
Yeah, that was the problem with the trailer. It started showing scenes that take place after the climactic battle between Superman and Batman, which is what all the tension between the two characters is building towards. I don't think it will be a problem in the final film, but for a three minute trailer, you can't just change tones on a dime like that.

For real though, how long is that Batman V Superman fight? There's shots of them fighting in the suit, Batman in his car, Batman in his plane, Batman in the desert... I wonder how that's going to play out in the movie.

For what? An awesome movie?

Man of Steel had a great look to it, but an awesome movie it was not.

I think the spoiler complaints have a lot to do with the structure of the trailer than the spoilers themselves. Yeah, everyone knows that they're going to team up in the end, but this trailer seemingly laid out the bullet points of the plot in order. It's not so much that everyone now knows that what Act 3 is, but that we also know what Acts 1 and 2 are.

It seems clear to me that some exec wanted a trailer put together to highlight the fun/campy parts of the movie out of some fear that the previous trailer (and probably the film itself) has a serious tone that will not appeal to many people.

It also seems obvious to me that Lex's persona is an act.

The trailer itself was awful and disjointed from start to finish, but aside from Batman fighting Superman, everything else looks so... corny.

Eh I appreciate the liberties they have taken considering about 60% of Marvel movie villains have been discount Lex Luthors so far
I actually don't mind what they're doing with him. But I'm also not going to sit here and pretend like it's making the character any better, or that Lex Luthor of all villains was a character that needed shaking up.

I like the mixed tone because it feels like the characters are reactionary to that instead of just tacking on one-liners to their serious talk like robots.

Lex Luthor is easier to swallow if you think of him as the Gotham version, not Metropolis.

It feels like they're trying to do grimdark + marvel comedy and it just doesn't mix at all.
I don't know what "marvel comedy" is, but it's definitely possible to do humor in grimdark setting. If employed properly can be a good pressure release valve too. Snyder is simply not adept enough to make it work as you can tell.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
Hmm dunno what to think, I'm liking less and less Zack's visual style. Its becoming a huge turnoff; nevertheless, I think it'll be a better movie than Man of Steel solely due to Ben Affleck, but that's not saying much.

I'm much more excited about Ben Affleck's directed Batman film.

This thread is growing way faster than the one for the last civil war trailer.

DCU threads brings out the ire in people!

But you can't setup a trailer to be between Supes and Bats and then reveal Doomsday 30 seconds later as the team forms while calling the movie Batman vs Superman and expect it to work in the minds of many here..

I don't disagree - but I never thought calling this thing Batman v. Superman was a smart move in the first place. In fact it was the first big fat clanging warning bell to really start ringing in my head.

it got muffled when they kicked Goyer out a little bit later, but you can still hear it ringing in the background...

Interesting that when the Trinity lines up in the end, WB choose to put WW in the front. In the leader position and not Superman (like it usually is)... that's a very interesting and probably purposeful decision.

Batman has throat cancer?

Modulated voice.

You know if you cut the last minute (except for the wonder woman stinger with the shield) it's actually a pretty dope trailer. Then it just gives away so much and has that cheesy last joke too.

i'm actually kinda fine with Lex, though I hope he dials back the wackiness and instead acts more condescending like that lois scene.

I don't really understand the eisenberg being eisenberg comments? Wtf. You guys seen a movie of his? Squid and the whale or I don't know. Social network?

Wonder Woman actually felt nicely introduced in the last trailer. Here she feels shoehorned. She'll be fine in the movie. Still don't get the complaints that her intro in this movie is too much.

Eisenberg looks like a fun, cheesy Lex Luthor.

Also shit the hulk is in this

Also Batman is finally going call of duty, he's sporting a new gun.

Looks like a fun popcorn flick.

It's a trailer for a movie. What is it confused about? It has some humorous moments, action and dialogue. I personally thought it all flowed well.

Doomsday is NOT some big spoiler. Please don't believe that. When Zod was shown in the first trailer is was the logical conclusion many made if you know anything DC.

Its confused about its tone. It would be akin to the second Civil War trailer building the fight between Cap and Tony up for the first minute and then revealing the big bad as they come together to set aside their diffrences. Aka, an awful choice no matter the movie.

It's fascinating to see the weird persecution complex that has sprung up around this film. Like any criticism is invalid because they set their minds to hating it because it's DC.

Well, we've never seen WW on the big screen before so that might have something to do with it.

So let me get this straight - the climax of a film called BATMAN VS SUPERMAN is not in fact going to be BATMAN VS SUPERMAN?

That seems like a colossal mistake

I'll watch it sure, but that was probably one of the most weirdly paced trailers I've ever seen. Grimdark mixed with out of place humor and music. Eh. That seemed like a lot given away maybe?

The reaction my wife had after seeing it: "So, it's called Batman versus Superman, but what happens is Wonder Woman shows up, tells these two chuckleheads to quit fucking around, and leads them both to victory. Is that right?"
