Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

The most interesting thing about Doomsday is that he killed Superman. So he's got to fulfil that somehow, otherwise he's just a big dumb monster.

With that in mind, now we know why they built up all the anti Superman hate. Because he's going to 'die'/ beaten to within an inch of his life saving Gotham/Metropolis, and earn the admiration and trust of Earth that way. If thats the case, I'd say yeah that was one spoilery trailer.

They blew their entire load in the trailer.

Luthor's introduction reminded me of the line "Obi-wan Kenobi meet Anakin Skywalker" from the Phantom Menace.

I am almost stunned at how terrible this looks.

Seriously if i didn't watch on an offical channel i'd be convinced it was a fan made trailer.

I just imagined a grown man lying in bed while punching a pillow with tears rolling down his face as he angrily exclaims, "FUCKING MARVEL FANS, MAN! THEY DON'T KNOW SHIT!"

Then just sobbing uncontrollably til he tires himself out and falls asleep.

I love the Internet.

Oh I'm not talking about BvS. I'm talking about the tone already established due to MoS that BvS then has to either come to terms with or finesse away from in a way that doesn't feel like a forced tonal shift.
Then the blame lies at WB. The company that's been dying to get red of the red/blue/yellow suit, and put Superman in a black suit.
I cringe when I hear that Superman is too powerful, or his rogues gallery is limited... It's honestly the direction both WB and DC have taken with the character. It's evident that only a few artists get Superman, and Richard Donner captured the silver age spirit of the Man of Tomorrow.
I'm the comics, the only rendition of Superman I have enjoyed are Grant Mirrison's new 52 Action Comics, All Star Superman...Geoff John's post Infinite Crisis Superman, and Mark Waid's Birthright. Superman is not a dark figure, that characteristic belongs to Batman.

But that's always been the case. DC fans will admittedly confess when a DC project is shit, whereas Marvel fans are biased and blind.

Digging the batvoice

Actually me too. It's a good idea and it comes off well.

If they can pull it off, I'll be all for it. It'll be tough though, and forgive me if I don't have the utmost confidence in DC/WB at this point. I so badly want to love this movie. Just need them to give me reasons not to dislike it.
Well, we won't have to wait long to see if they pull it off. Just three months to go.

Lol, the fuck is wrong with you people. That was amazing, loved it.

Pros:

*Hey maybe this won't be a funeral dirge
*cool wonder woman entrance
*some good shots

Cons:

*Not sold on ANYBODY's acting. Cavil and Affleck were like two planks of wood with each other.
*Permanent Bat modulator
*Lex. Jesus christ could Eisenberg enunciate even worse?
*Doomsday looks like shit and is unneeded here.

So agree with the latter part of this comment.

It seems like there is a little more humor then I was expecting, which is fine. I'll have to watch the trailer a few more times.

Ben Affleck as Batman works way better than it should.

Hey, you guys remember when BatGAF was fun?

Like, we'd post an out-of-context quote from a Batman movie, slightly altered to apply to the thread? And then someone else would reply with their version of the next line? And then I posted all those Batman Forever gifs.

That was great.

Trailer looked corny as shit, but I guess with a title like Batman versus Superman, that should be expected.

To the people complaining that it gave too much away, I think it was kind of necessary. Otherwise people like me with no knowledge of the comics would go 'why the hell would batman not work together with superman' and immediately dismiss the film. Now you're like oh yeah okay that makes sense, but it's also not some grimdark film and hey there's a girl.

This movie looks really, really crowded and Wonder Woman hasn't even said a line yet.

I like Affleck's Batman so far, but I feel like this movie isn't going to be long enough for all the shit they're trying to throw in it.

Also that trailer told me about 2/3s of the movie.

well to be fair nolan-bat movies were a hell of a lot more exciting imo than the stuff that's been happening since in the genre.

the hype threads for those were the best gaf's been in OT

Oh my god. This looks fucking amazing.

They've ruined the entire movie with this trailer, showed way too much, but it looks SO GOOD.

Don't talk like one of them. You're not! Even if you'd like to be. To them, you're just a freak, like me! They need you occasionally for thread summaries, but when they don't, they'll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.

Looks a lil bit crappy like MoS did but I dig Batfleck and having WW as part of the team.

Lex sounds super annoying, I laughed at "don't pick a fight with this guy" though.

Jesse Eisenberg already sucked a ton of hype out of the first trailer with his cringy-ass red coats line and I hate him here too. He's like a genius version of The Joker with a wimpy ass voice.

They couldn't keep the Batman v Superman mythos alive, could they? THey HAD to spoil that there's a big bad and Supes and Bats settle their differences to fight a common enemy...

*sigh* such a waste.

It could be nice if the movie utterly breaks Luthor. He goes from being this campy, hilarious arrogant dude to the deranged, maniacal, and devious Luthor everyone knows.

I actually think he'd pull off a good villian but this performance just isn't Lex Luthor to me. I know it won't happen but I just want the DCAU Lex Luthor and Joker on the live action big screen. I can't get over it.

i still don't know about this lex but swag punk joker is cool. i'm more than fine with that.

plus the rumor of him SS spoiler
blasting 2pac music in his car
sounds so good.

I kinda see that being the arc. I find it very interesting the way Eisenberg is doing it. He maintains the super-ego and feeling of invulnerability that Lex exudes while not being the same old "maniacal evil genius".

I think there may be some surprises with Lex in store. He may lose his hair due to the Kryptonite giving him cancer. He is seen touching it in the trailer...

One thing I found funny, is that Luthor is straight up making fun of Clark Kent to his face, but its impact is slightly lost cause he looks like Henry Cavill. He probably should have slouched or worn baggier clothing.

I just don't get the criticism anymore. People are so appalled by a cocky Lex Luthor (who will experience something since we saw images of Eisenberg being bald) and the tiniest details it's just mind blowing. The editing could have been better, but all in all this looks like a fun ride - loved the scene between Bruce and Clark.

Comic book fandom will ruin comic book movies some day
