One thing I found funny, is that Luthor is straight up making fun of Clark Kent to his face, but its impact is slightly lost cause he looks like Henry Cavill. He probably should have slouched or worn baggier clothing.

christopher reeve will never be topped. would have been nice to see cavill at least attempt some kind of dual persona though.

This is the happy and cheerful version of Lex. Once his plan goes to shit and he is left on the losing end he will change. No hair serious Lex with arrive.

At this point I'd rather see Lex Steel as the villian than this Lex Luthor.
I don't know. I say let's give it a chance. The movies seems like there will be a lot of world building and set up.

I still have faith this movie will be good. I liked the trailer a lot even though it showed too much.

Jesus, this is getting hated on?

And the civil war trailer praised?

I want off of this fucking earth

Did anyone else catch that quick shot of Batman shoving Superman into a wall? Superman looks bloody as shit. I'm on mobile so I can't get a screenshot.

It's an OK trailer but there's so much stuff happening. Why not introduce the heroes/villains first instead of throwing them all together? I'll go see this, no doubt about it.

i dunno, it had better music and a consistent tone about it.

this just went 0-hammy real quick. i'm expecting both movies to be of similar quality tbh. I'm banking on xmen and suicide squad being better movies. well i dunno about suicide squad but that film just looks so..different from everything else. it's needed.

Love the Batvoice and I especially love the scene at the end with the three of them, WW looks incredible.

One thing though, Doomsday doesn't look particularly great, but I'm putting that down to the effects still needing a lot of work

Hyped though. Doomsday!!!!

I got serious Amazing Spider Man 2 vibes from this.

Ehhh. Didn't get that. It looks bad, but bad in a different kinda way. Not in the way Man of Steel was bad either. I think mishandled would be the right word. Like you can see some working parts, but they'll be really poorly handled. I think what makes me think that was Eisenberg. Like the scene where he interrupts Bruce and Clark made him seem like a really appealing villain. But then his talk about psychopaths was just fucking stupid and ruined any beliefs I had that he could be a good villain.

It could be nice if the movie utterly breaks Luthor. He goes from being this campy, hilarious arrogant dude to the deranged, maniacal, and devious Luthor everyone knows.

Completely agree but let's complain like we've already seen the movie. In all seriousness I think he's going to be fine. i'm more worried about Wonder Woman and Doomsday (and Aquaman).

lmao disco pls

you wilin

Tried to watch the trailer two more times.... Synder really does love the Matrix. The entire look of this movie is Matrix Revolutions. literally, the rain, the fights, everything. Which is ok since the Matrix was awesome but it's blatantly obvious where this director gets his influence from.

The only potential redeeming quality is Wonder Woman for me. She does look great.

Ugh, marketing departments. Did they have to give away the whole plot? Doomsday would have been such a great surprise.

I didn't really dig much of what I saw, but I didn't have much confidence in the people putting this together from the start. Suicide Squad looks a lot more interesting to me.

I guess the reason the hate is so baffling to me is that this trailer was a notable departure from the previous two and that was a very pleasant surprise to me. I'm a big DC guy, so I was hyped for this thing from its announcement and I definitely liked the other trailers but I never thought that they would really hype up anyone who disliked Man of Steel, they just seemed like more of the same.

THIS new shit seems like the kind of thing that your DC cinematic universe skeptic would be more intrigued by. Much better dialogue, interesting character interactions, a villain that isn't angry all of the time, Supes and Bats not being 100% serious at all moments. I'm sure all of the above points will be separately quoted, bolded, gif-reaction'd and guffawed at because people have different opinions and thats great. But I am personally much more interested in the film now.

From the looks Affleck is a better Batman than Bale.

Totally.

What he hell, trailer? Did you just spoil the whole movie for me? God damn! They could've ended this trailer at the 3/4th beat where Superman pulls of Batman's mask. They didn't need to keep pushing it.

But to be honest, I liked quite a bit of what I saw in the trailer. I am willing to give Eisenberg a chance. I honestly liked it a bit more than the Capt 3 trailer.

I'll never understand this - like no shit Superman and Batman team up against a threat in the last act. How is that a spoiler when it's the most predictable thing ever?

Did you get angry that The Avengers were all in a circle working together too?

They showed us the whole movie in this trailer!
I wish Wonder Woman wasnt in the movie. Oh and I forgot that Cyborg and Aquaman are in BVS too... :|

Don't bother. Everyone thinks it's a spoiler. They thought that Batman and Superman would fight for the entire movie.

based on what exactly?

because it can't be the previous movies
In the MCU? Cause yeah, it's based off of that for Civil War. Based off of Snyder's track record.

I love Winter Soldier, that's about the only MCU film I consider great. Lot of mediocre/uninspired movies there. I am also not a big fan of MoS. So far I didn't enjoy the trailer for Civil War.

When was the last time that a major villain in a comic based film was kept secret? I mean no one knew the villain was in the film until he appears on screen? Doomsday being in the film was going to be reveled at some point.

The synopsis basically points to another villain in the film not named Lex.

It's called Batman vs Superman, not Justice League. They could at least try and keep up the illusion.

I'm sure Marvel will do the same shit with Civil War because audiences are stupid

In the MCU?

No, on Winter Soldier. Why would you base it on anything else?
