Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

Kind of a strange trailer, interspersed with lengthy clips.

It looks nice, but I do have a feeling we might still have some narrative issues here. Not feeling the design of Doomsday, the original look is better.

Also, I really think when Superman does Clark Kent he should try and change his posture and attitude a bit more. It's an act, at the end of the day. Otherwise he really is just Superman with glasses on. It doesn't look like they've gone to any effort to treat is as a disguise.

But I'm looking forward to the movie. I liked Wonder Woman pitching up there at the end. The Justice League slowly taking shape. When that JL movie finally comes it's going to be massive.

This just further proves to me that Jesse Eisenberg can only do one role and has no range. I thought this would be completely different for him, but he's literally the same damn person. The roast battle between bruce/clark was amazing though lol.
I'm pretty sure Eisenberg is doing exactly what he was hired to do, and that's to be Lex Zuckerberg.

I understand they're trying to set up a universe, but that takes time and patience.

Batman fighting Superman is intriguing and dense enough for an entire movie. Adding another villain just makes it seem inconsequential. Bats and Supes beating the shit out of each other and arguing over ideals while Lex pulls the strings for 2.5 hours would be incredible. Maybe even toss in an extended Diana cameo (NOT Wonder Woman). Done. Perfect.

Doomsday and any other superheroes entering the fray (including WW) just distracts from what everyone wants to see and will lead to resentment.

Eisenberg is such a miscast.
I was really hoping we'd get a Lex much more similar to his portrayal in the DCAU. A Lex that's serious, cold, and scheming, like a mashup of Bruce Wayne and Kingpin. Instead we get another awkward comical version of the guy that the movies keep trying to make work and keep failing at. I've hated every Lex Luthor cast this way since Hackman.

Jessie Eisenberg playing Max Landis playing an actor who thinks this is all incredibly goofy

I'm embracing this shit now. If its actually "good", then whew. If its the campy epic mess of clashing tones, visually striking images, and gloriously dumb scenes that it looks like its gonna be...then its gotta be fun! And it'll certainly be fun to talk about. Amazing that THIS is the film they're building an entire cinematic universe around.

At the very least, I'm impressed by the the visuals here. For the most part, some composting looks a little rough, as does the cgi, but it's not necessarily final. I'm actually digging the color pallet, the scenes with Batman in the desert(?) look spectacular, as does a lot of the conflicts between the two leads in the rain there, it looks great. Whereas while I liked the Civil War trailer, I couldn't help but think it looked a little subdued and bland -- not necessarily in the more simplistic stylized shots, like the final shot of a Cap and Bucky fighting Tony. But a lot of the shots at the airport, and the settings for the fights are very, very basic. I thought the same about The Winter Soldier trailers, but considering the grounded tone, and the nation security allusions to reality, I thought it was appropriate. Here I really like the look they're going for, much more than Man of Steel, I wonder if it's the same cinematographer?

The cinematographer is Larry Fong, Snyder's usual collaborator. He wasn't on MoS though.

The fuck? This is worlds different from his performances in Arrested Development.

Looks like the movie has a few surprises left then.

Weakest trailer of them all. The previous trailers were so much better. They also basically revealed the entire damn movie. Luther used Zod's body and created Doomsday from it. The face looks like the actor. I wish they kept that a secret.

Best part is Wayne vs Kent dialogue. That was something I've been looking forward to.

Forced humor in a serious tone, generic "epic" music, bad cut/editing, a pretty big surprise spoiled... Its like the anti-Snyder trailer.

They could also add the Trailer Voice Guy telling the plot!

Really bummed for seeing this. It gets worse when every website just tells you "Look this is the bad guy!"

Still want to watch the movie, but fuck this.

Wow this movie looks all kind of forced for a cinematic universe.

Like they're trhrowing comic shit into a wall and see what sticks

Actually Superman Returns had a more ruthless Lex...but that selling land scheme killed it for me.

Loving the direction they've gone with Luthor. I have no doubt that this movie will be terrible, but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy it. Affleck is surprising me. I'm loving his Bruce Wayne voice and mannerisms. Wonder if his Bat voice will get as many complaints as Bale's did.

Definitely warming up to it. Affleck as Batman is still taking time for me, but I'm slowly warming up to it. Cool trailer for sure.

Looks pretty cool.
But there is NOTHING redeeming about Lex.
Thank god they didn't show the clip of him whimpering "the red coats are comming!....The red coats are coming!" Soooooo terrible. Ugh.

I thought this was going to be similar to The Dark Knight Returns in tone.

So they team up to fight a big meathead? Guess I'll skip it.

Affleck is trying real hard, isn't he. To have any kind of gravitas. It's still a bit of a battle for Ben, though. At least he has Snyder on his side, who knows how to make superheroes look good.

Interesting theory about Doomsday being created from Zod. That could explain why the face looks the way it does. They do both have the cleft chin.

It doesn't seem as pretentious as I thought it would be. It looks awkward as Hell, but my interest has actually gone up a bit. Maybe it'll just be some brainless comic book romp with a bunch of fan service and fun, like Avengers or something.

I'm OK with that.

I'm sorry but I can't take anyone who uses the word gravitas to critique acting seriously

Pretty sure more than 1% dont want an entire movie to spoiled in a trailer which is shown in cinemas. Are we supposed to shut our eyes and forget?

You're probably supposed to not watch a trailer at all if you want to go into a movie fresh and spoiler free.

Too many spoilers, but that looks effing great.

Snyder is in the running for the best comic book director. Up there with Burton, but in a completely different style, of course. I might put Rodriguez up there, too.

They have to add the bones to Doomsday. He looks fucking dumb. It's bad enough having him come from Zod's corpse, but at least get the goddamn look right.

It just pains me that we had stuff like Avatar 6 years ago and this is the state of CG for a big budget blockbuster? Meh.

It's a good trailer, I just wish it hadn't gone full "Terminator: Genisys" and spoiled what seems like a huge plot point.

I don't get these comments.

You already knew that there would be a villain that forces them to cooperate.

How is this a spoiler.

You're all literally going "dammit, why did they spoil the thing I already knew would happen?"

I have followed none of this movie's leadup. I didn't know there was a Villian. I was hoping there'd be something other than the good ole "evil force unites the two enemies" trope. You know, something more like "The Dark Knight Returns" (Comic) where there's no big-bad villian.

I was wrong :(
