I have yet to see a reasonable explanation (in these threads) that works within the context of the DC universe. It's one thing to have a metaphysical or supernatural explanation that allows superhuman feats, it's another to assume that reason and the human mind are fundamentally different, to a point where they would seem barely human. It's honestly best to ignore it.

I personally don't mind it at all, I also like secret superhero identities and its shenanigans.

Go with the Doctor Who MO, Perception filter ftw

This movie was so predictable, Bman and Sman squabble a bit then fight a common enemy, if a competent director was on this shit then maybe it would be A-Ok but that goblin snyder is wiping turds on the reel.

Superman has no actual character motivation for fighting? He doesn't like Batman for not respecting the rule of law and hurting people, but then he killed a dude (which Batman never did), loads of people died because of him and he told authority to fuck off in the last film. He seems so badly written.

Superman is not fighting Batman, Batman ks fighting Superman.

I think there are some things that work and others that don't, outside the confines of comic book tradition. Look at how Marvel has pretty much done away with secret identities.
But the characters that they've been using in the marvel films never really hid their identities much in the comics outside of Iron Man who sometimes says he's Tony Stark or his bodyguard depending on the day of the week. Having a secret identity is an important component for some characters, Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man being the key examples.

Synder is only as good as the script he is working with. the good new is that Chris Terrio was brought in to do some script work for the film, a good sign given how terrible the MoS script ended up being.

what? There's been two different LLs in the movies: the campy as hell Gene Hackman Lex and the less campy and somewhat interesting Kevin Spacey LL who is more crazy than silly.

Those 2 Lexes share a lot more similarities than differences. And can be lumped to together in the same bracket. We've never had anything on the opposite end of the spectrum like the Lex from the JL/JLU cartoons.

Superman has always been a huge hypocrite.

A comic series explained that since Superman has full control over all of the muscles in his body he can change them at will to appear much smaller as Clark Kent than when he is Superman. This effects the overall appearance of himself (there are muscles in the face etc.) It's more than him slouching and wearing glasses. The problem is that the only way to portray this in a movie is to use CG.

The creatures aren't at all like the Abomination or LOTR troll, which is what people in this thread were comparing Doomsday too. Brutish humanoid CGI monsters. We're not talking about kaiju-sized creatures
What he probably meant to say was the trolls from the hobbit mated with the Bay Turtles and gave birth to Doomsday.

Great really doesn't fix in for this movie does it.

Holy Hell Eisenberg is terrible.

Bad Trailer. This should shut up DCstans about the whole Gritty, Grounded and Realistic Universe compared to MCU.

I think this will be a movie where I'll like aspects of it but the whole will disappoint.

Or use Matthew Bomer as Kent.

Seems like an interesting solution, but probably difficult to handle in a movie. Thanks for the explanation.

lmao the way he slides right up to the camera is killing me!

Needs a little Hello subtitle at the end.

Not really feeling Doomsday's design. I know they can't change it from the comic design but it looks like every other Hulk-esque beast I've seen in films.

yeah, there's never been a true mastermind version of Lex on film, the type that legitimately poses a thread to Supes and is dangerously devious.

STAS/JL/JLU Lex is definitely the best adapted version of Lex by far

I enjoyed it up until the Doomsday part at the end.

I think I might actually like Jessie as Lex. He's not what people expected, but I think he'll end up being a pretty memorable character. The thing that bugged me about this trailer (besides the lame music) was the complete tonal shift compared to Trailer 1 and MoS. The end almost felt like some kind of parody with the cartoony monster and shitty quips. It's like they tried to turn it into a Marvel movie half way through production or something.

Anyone else get Lizard vibes from Doomsday?

I'm conflicted. On the one hand this trailer REALLY sold me on the movie. On the other hand, the trailer seemed to give away a quite bit of the plot.

Other than I'm still not sure about Eisenberg's showing here, it's not bad, just overly long and shows way too much.
edit:Should have ended the trailer right after Lex flicks Lois in the forehead

I guess, but I'm not surprised it's a pill that it's a bit too hard to swallow for me. Worst thing is that Cavill isn't putting any effort into his Kent persona. Then again neither is Affleck with Wayne so...whatever, I guess.

It was okay, but I had to stifle a laugh at how Batman looked in the final shot. He looked fat.

the bat

was fat

lol

Then people would be complaining even more. Doomsday likely evolves during the fight like he does in the comic. All people seem to remember is the image of him from the end of the fight but he doesn't look like that for the majority of the fight if I'm remembering correctly.
Dunno. Can't remember. I'll have to dig through my comic book collection and see. Been forever since I have.

Damn. This trailer killed my hype. I don't care about Wonder Woman and I definitely don't care about Doomsday or Zod. I guess I should focus my hype on the standalone Bat flick after this one.

I think there is more to the superman and Batman fight then we are seeing because at 2:02 in the trailer it looks like Superman has a bloodied face. And the scene with Batmans dream does look like it has parademons in it.
