Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

The beginning is pretty good! I think the second half was not so good but I like the setup part more than the rest. Wonder Woman is fantastic.

I'm just not as excited for this movie as I once was. I think it was a bad idea to show Doomsday and the Trinity in that shot. And Eisenberg is going to grate on my nerves. I really wish they'd have gotten Kevin Spacey back as Lex.

The disguise wouldn't hold for a day. It's just asinine to pretend that people could be fooled that easily.

So Superman can fly, shoot beams from his eyes, and is bulletproof? Cool! Oh but he puts on glasses and no one recognizes him! That's just to much! There is a line after all.

I sorta wish Doomsday in the movie had his green outfit and goggles in some form. he looked cool wearing that in the comics.

This, if as others are saying, his bone plates/spikes are going to be a adaptation to injury, that would have been an excellent way to hide who the villain is for people not familiar with the comics. Suit could get tattered with bone spikes shredding it for his final form.

Wasn't there talk of Jessie Eisenberg not actually playing Lex Luther at some point?

I'm kind of hoping for that at the moment, because that just looked so fucking bad.

LOL, not true. AVATAR wasn't even the most expensive film ever made when it released. Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides had a production budget north of $370 million.

Avatar has been matched. WETA's work on DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is the evolution of some of that AVATAR tech.

BVS looks very cartoony, the CGI looks like an extension of the direction Snyder took with MoS.

Yeah, Apes looked great (especially the orangutan)

Also wtf at that Pirates budget. What a waste. That film didn't even have anything as impressive as Davey Jones.

horrible trailer. Un-did everything that I liked about the previous trailers.

I was coming in blind and had no idea that the ending was going to turn into a team up fight. I feel like I watched the whole movie.

Also what's with the lizard man creature? This is Amazing Spider-Man 2 all over again with all the enemies. In fact, if you replace Gwen Stacy's role with Superman, it kind of makes sense that the first half of the movie will be a lovers quarrel.

Fatman carrying a gun is the stupidest shit I've seen all year.

Eisenberg is going to steal the show.

Uhh Doomsday? One of the most well known Superman villains??

Without sound, it looks pretty cool. I'll have to watch it again later.

Doomsday looks fine, but as others have pointed out, a little too similar to other recent monsters.

So Superman can fly, shoot beams from his eyes, and is bulletproof? Cool! Oh but he puts on glasses and no one recognizes him! That's just to much! There is a line after all.
Those are two different levels of acceptance. Alien has bullshit superpowers sure, a building full of reporters can't figure out Clark Kent a man with the exact same build, face, hair, and voice of Superman might have some relation? Nah fuck that.

I have yet to see a reasonable explanation (in these threads) that works within the context of the DC universe. It's one thing to have a metaphysical or supernatural explanation that allows superhuman feats, it's another to assume that reason and the human mind are fundamentally different, to a point where they would seem barely human. It's honestly best to ignore it.

I personally don't mind it at all, I also like secret superhero identities and its shenanigans.

lmao the way he slides right up to the camera is killing me!

Eisenberg as Luther is terrible. Ruins the whole thing for me. Sorry....he just looks awful in the role.

Afflecks's Batman looks good though.

I did think that. Surely the world's greatest detective should solve that one in fractions of a second. I always thought Superman films did the 'disguise' very badly though, it's just glasses.

Hmm I Imagined that whole sequence with both of them (pr atleast Bruce) knowing the other's secret identity hence the dressed as clowns & that stare by Bruce.

That feel when you realize we could have had Bryan Cranston Lex Luthor.

As said Cranston was never connected to this film at all. Never an option. That was not the Lex they were going after.

People do understand there are different versions of Lex right? Do not be disappointed because you ( as people in general) built up an image of what should, based on nothing but your own ideas, happen and that's not happening.

Uhh Doomsday? One of the most terrible Superman villains??

FTFY. Don't worry, you can thank me later.

Is Doomsday really that well known? Obviously Death of Superman was huge at the time but I'm pretty sure if you ask person on the street to name 5 Superman villains they will say Lex Luthor and then get stuck.

I think it was Golden Age Supes that had crafted glasses that hypnotized people, so when they looked at "Clark" the glasses prevented them from recognizing him as Superman.

I personally always like the explanation that the normal people just can't imagine this "god" would want to live amongst them, so they don't really look for him.

Over all, it's comics. Just accept it and move on, I guess.

well I'm hype LETS GOOOOOOOOO

dunno how i feel about Luthor being...kinda more like the riddler or mad hatter than boss mode arrogant existentialist.

i really dont like doomsday..id rather have bizzaro if they are gonna use Zods body...honestly i want Zod..he played no games

I'm sorry but this movie looks terrible. The CGI is Star Wars prequel levels of overkill. Affleck looks good but that's about it.

Lex...why lol

You're right and you are supposed to ignore it. It's supposed to be stupid, they make fun of it in the comics all the time. It's just a suspension of disbelief that you need to accept, not a big deal tbh.

To be fair, most people wouldn't think that Superman would want to pretend to be a normal person living among them. Most would think Superman is just Superman all the time.

That being said, Cavill really looks like Superman with glasses in the beginning of this trailer. Reeves did a lot with his body language which helped differentiate the two (although it was still laughable that Lois couldn't put it together).

Yeah, but only one type has been portrayed on film, it's understandable to want something different.

1. Lex Luther.
2. Zodd? Zod? I don't know how to spell his name. The dude from the last movie.
3. Kryptonite?
4. ... ?
5. The Daily Bugle.

they also sorta hinted Lex can control minds in that clip with Lois so I assume he controls Superman at some point.

Welcome to the last, oh, 80 years? As silly as it is, it is part of the mythos. It's one of those suspension of belief things, up there with a man who can fly sent from another planet to save us from......well the threat that his presence brought down upon us( as least as far as Man of Steel goes).

Affleck does look like the best part. I can see why WB is so insistent on giving him a rumored trilogy.

Wonder Woman being shoehorned in at the last second was jarring; honestly the last 50 seconds kinda ruined the trailer for me. It's like throwing in everything including the kitchen sink.

I'm seeing it for free so if it's bad at least I didn't spend money on it.

Doomsday is really and truly not that well known like I have no doubt more people will gave been familiar with Zod as the OG supes movies are still relatively popular. But in the other hand the Death of Superman was actually a huge deal back in the day comic got a lot of media attention and such apparently.

I think there are some things that work and others that don't, outside the confines of comic book tradition. Look at how Marvel has pretty much done away with secret identities.

That's a weird thing to complain about, and I didn't like the trailer. I think it works better with Clark not having a triple identity, that's cruel, even, let him be yhe real Clark and the majestic superman, no need for Dork Kent.
