Let's not ignore that Batman also handles bigger criminals and psychos that the Gotham police has problems with, like Joker. He doesn't go after low-level scums only. Also, the conversation is more about working outside the law. Batman can be brutal towards criminals, but Superman could level the whole city (see: MoS) if he wanted to and no one would be able to stop him.
Though in general, Batman's villains threatening a city at most while Superman's commonly endanger whole countries or the entire world. Even Ra's Al Ghul pales in comparison how often dangerous world threatening aliens needs to get slapped by Supes.
That's just general. Batman of course helps a lot in the Justice League business against global threats. But without that, he is a lot smaller than Superman and that's cool.

He knew who Bruce Wayne was; he wasn't just going to ask anyone the questions he asks Bruce.
He probably didn't know that Bruce travelled in that kind of vehicle, whereas the other journalists did. So he sees them snapping at a car, but not recognizing the vehicle he wonders who's in it.

The rule for WB apparently is that you need to make just one good film and they'll throw money your way for years afterwards, even if all other movies are shit (see The Wachowskis)

So like a genius WB decides to then give him the keys to their entire stable of classics because damn he's really proven he can be trusted.
Every movie not called Sucker Punch made by Snyder has either been regarded favorably or did well at the Box Office. This talk like he's the worst thing in Hollywood is ridiculous. The internet being super picky really has no bearing on how Hollywood higher ups decide who or who doesn't get the "keys to the castle".
No, DC always waits until people have recovered from the last reboot and started to like things. Then and only then they reboot and destroy everything people loved in particular.
You know what's funny? That fact that people can complain about Batman having a gun when he uses similar weapons in TDK and TDKRises. I mean shit he uses explosive Batarangs in comics and in Injustice. Explosive fucking batarangs.

The annoying thing with Snyder is it's not like he can fail with Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman. It's guaranteed to be a box office hit unless your are bad with the budget. So if BvS is bad, roll on the next one with Snyder because it made good money. It's times like that you wish studios had a wise head and would seek better directors after realising the film did well but actually wasn't a good film. BvS apparently has better writers so lets see if that helps Snyder. If not, I hope he doesn't get another go.

Having re-watched it a couple of times. It's not as bad as I first thought, the music is shit tier though and odd doesn't seem to be in sync with the cuts. I think there's an awful lot of trailer dialogue in it (the Bruce/Clark/Lex introduction scene and the Wonder Woman I thought she was with you? in particular). In fact I'd wager the entire dialogue in the Trinity bit at the end isn't in the movie, and I doubt the 3 in one shot used is there either.
Uh, what? If anything the next Supes film will make mad money post JL, same way Iron Man 3 leapt up 500 million additional bucks post Avengers on Iron Man 2's box office.

I think that Nolan actually recommended Snyder to WB. Could be wrong though.

Metric? It's my opinion. Iron Man seems like a much more popular character these days than Superman.
1- It was not the whole Metropolis but part of the downtown. You can see the scope of the destroyed area in the shot where Superman returns to the city.
2- Those buildings are certainly abandoned in the trailer.
It's as if the only thing a character needs to be loved by the masses is a good movie anf tons of marketing money. Go figure.
My theory is that it all stems from the DCAU Batman series. As far as I can recall, that's the version of Batman that's the most staunchly against guns, to the point that he retires after using a gun against a thug that got the better of him. That's the version of Batman that a lot of casual fans use as the gold standard for the character.
Uh, no. MOS made more than Iron Man and Iron Man 2. And any non Avengers Phase 1 film. Iron Man 3 making a billion is why Iron Man is in Cap 3, Marvel want another billion.
Not too different from Reeve era Superman being the standard vision for that character. Some people have a hard time letting go. Not a bad thing necessarily but it can cause problems for the viewer.

Timmverse batman still used guns on his batwing I'm pretty sure. I remember him blowing up those droid aliens that were eating up everything. I'm guessing Luthor is going to be doing something else that Batman's going to have to take care of once he sees he obviously can't go toe to toe with Doomsday, otherwise it would look absurd to see Batman going toe to toe with Doomsday, not even comic book Bats would do that.
I do hope they borrow the shock gloves from timmverse though, I thought that was an easy way to convince people he could take on things bigger than himself, when stacked ontop of his agility. It shouldn't work on doomsday but things like parademons.
