Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Chunk 1 (CyberConnect2, UE4) Trailer, "PS4 Console Debut"

Is amazing to see a lot of people saying that the old combat was bad (The best turn based RPG ever IMO)... I can hope that they dont fucked the materia system too.. Well.. looks like this game is directed to a young audience (Not the hardcore FF7 fans) , at least the kids are going to appreciate one of the best story in video games ever made, and Square can make a lot money with this game. Still day 1.

Goddamn I miss Nomura directed trailers.

This is how you show off a game, early or not.

Barrett seems off. He's way too chill and I'm not feeling that.

To be fair, in this part of the game he didn't really get pissed at anyone except Cloud.

Though I kind of get what you mean, probably expected him to be way more intense.

But I really dig cool Barret.

Awwwww... it's an action RPG

Looks ok but not like what I wanted.
Also, some of that voice acting was terrible.

Hype down to 0

I think they should have gone with a more stylized art style. The anime designs don't translate all that well into a too realistic look. Cloud's hair really doesn't work on that realistic model. His Smash Bros. model looks much better IMO. I can only imagine what Cait Sith will look like...

If Sony didn't already put Xbox one away this trailer just did it, fuck that was awesome, gonna have to build a new PC to play this..

So it is more like XII or XIII where you queue stuff up and not a button mashy Kingdom Hearts thing, right? As long as it is, this looks amazing! Didn't think there was any way it would be turn based, but XIII battle system is incredible.

It looks really good but...I'm hoping that the combat just looks more actiony and is at least more turn-based.

Not really down to play an action RPG version of Final Fantasy VII

How in the world does this look targeted to young audience and kids? What did you see?

I love how this looks more like a reimagining than just a remake. I don't remember any of this from FF7 and I beat it twice. It looks like a solid game and I hope it pans out. I won't preorder because of my all digital stance but I will own this game upon release.

Come now, really? :|

Looking good so far. Maybe XV will be a nice beta test for VIIR. Still...I look at that small section of the game and all the new assets involved and I wonder if they're really going to be able to cram in everything from VII. Hoping they don't break it into episodes or remove areas.

He may snap at Cloud but it'll be in a less cartoony way. Hopefully he won't beat his chest like an ape or shake his fists at him in this version.

I like smooth, cool, calm, and collected Barrett. Signs of a great leader.

Reminds me of Rodin now. I can do without the chest beating and fist shaking, but he gotta go HAM every now and then.

If you told me a decade ago that I would be one of the few people defending Final Fantasy 7 as a good game, I straight up would not have believed you, lol.

Really not sold on the ARPG stuff. At least the gameplay confirmed character switching, typically ARPG's suck when it comes to moving the experience beyond one character.

Hopefully there's still some kind of ATB-inspired pacing and it's not just mashing attack while your camera's up an enemy's ass 90% of the time.

Oh man, this is amazing.

Honestly, I think Barrett looks perfect. He's not as big a Mr. T rip off anymore and he looks heads and shoulders above what he did in Advent Children.

Hype growing!

I don't mind if Barrett looses his cool at times in the game. It will probably only happen with more serious stuff though, like when he worries about Marlene and when the sector drops.

ATB inspired pacing is, to most people, incredibly boring. If the combat is paced slowly enough that people are just standing around waiting to attack, I would be incredibly surprised.

Holy shit, was not expecting to see this much of the game like 6 months after E3. Looking fucking incredible, though not sure how I feel about the combat. I keep going back and forth in my mind as to whether it should be real-time or kept turn-based. Never been a fan of KH's combat, but enjoyed FF12's system.

Unreal Engine 4 is saving Japanese AAA game development.

Curious on the voice cast. Some of it definitely seems to be a carry over from AC as I'm positive that was Beau Billingslea as Barret.

I'm never a big fan of totally changing the gameplay for a sequel/remake. But I'll give it a shot before judging it too hard.

So there's still FFXV and KH3.I doubt they can release this before any of the other two.

Square Enix has quite the fantastic line up of AAA games for the next five years.

Yeah, this is bullshit.

Anyway, it's clearly not "standing around to attack" just by the gameplay so I don't even know why you used this hyperbole.
