Yea so far it's pretty interesting. Though people have been trying to solve the Galactus problem pretty much since the dawn of multiverse 7, and their solution was pretty damn silly.

Oh yea, just push him into his cradle thing and turn on the juice.

Oh... kay?

Well I actually thought it was pretty inventive. The box that "terraformed" him was lost on another planet and being used. It wasn't as if it was always sitting around in his ship.

I mean I get that he got woken up prematurely and as such wasn't done "cooking" or whatever, it just seemed pretty anticlimactic to take the original big bad in the marvel U, stuff him in a breadbox, zap him for 10 seconds and bammo, he's fixed.

So what were the 6 616 changes prior?
I assume One More Day was one.

One more day just messed with the timeline in a single universe.

It's 8 different *multiverses*. Number 7 was Galactus's multiverse. We don't know what 6 was. 5 was some kind of Dark Magic elder god filled thing. The rest are a mystery as well.

Don't doubt Blue Marvel.

I also think it highlights that this new MacGuffin (the Iso-8) can be a very dangerous power source if it falls into the wrong hands.

I do appreciate that they didn't just
kill him
, but instead was able to find a solution that only the most brilliant minds in Marvel would come up with. Not only that, leveraging all their skillsets. Really underscored why this team was put together.

Solving the Galactus problem is a huge change to the status quo. None of the other books seem to be dealing anything on this scale yet (I'm assuming the M-Pox thing is ultimately a non-issue).

Still not completely sold on Ultimates, but if absolutely nothing else, Black Panther's new wearable holographic supercomputer thing is so goddamn cool.

I think you miscounted. Number 6 was Galactus' multiverse. Number 7 was the Marvel Multiverse before Secret Wars (2015). Number 8 is Post Secret Wars (2015).

Can anyone name all those Lokis and provide an image from the books they have appeared in?

Out of those, I recognize (going left from right, front row to back)

Kid Frost Giant Loki- JMS' Thor run flashbacks
Kid Loki- Gillen's Journey Into Mystery

Dark Reign/Siege era Loki
I guess ANAD Loki?
Classic Jack Kirby era Loki

Axis Hero Loki
Homeless Bum Loki- Secret Wars: Thors mini
(?) Earth X Loki
Cat Loki from Squirrel Girl

I don't know that I've ever seen Giant Hulk Loki or Tiny Pixie Loki before, though.

You named all the ones I knew!

But isn't the one in the front on the left Evil Future Loki who is the current Loki's nemesis?

Yeah, that version of Loki was using that same JMS/Dark Reign/Siege look, since that was the last look he had before he died and Kid Loki took over.

No love for Ultimate Loki....

I didn't have a problem with this one. Galactus' backstory since before any of us were alive was that he was consuming planets (in multiverse 7) but would eventually give back far more than he had taken.

So the role change was choreographed decades in advance.

As for the solution, Ultimates 1 pointed out that whatever material the new cosmic cubes were made of couldn't physically exist here until the universal restart. it's a limitless (?) power source analogous to cosmic cubes, and new to the multiverse- or perhaps it's made of the same substance the beyonders were, as they couldn't physically exist in multiverse 7 either. The ultimates used part of one of these in conjunction with his birthing cradle, along with panther linking to it and explaining what he was attempting to accomplish with TaaII and it moved galactus along to the next stage of his evolution in universe 8.

Wow was Scarlet Witch #1 bad.

And I'm already getting tired of Rich Spidy.

Rich Spiderman fucking sucks, only thing I've liked so far is Vision, Spidey, Ms. Marvel and All New All Different Avengers. All New All Different Marvel hasn't been as cool as I thought it would be.

EDIT: oh and I really liked Silk #1 too, so I'm kinda hyped for #2

This week's books:

All-New Inhumans #2
All-New X-Men #2
Amazing Spider-Man #1.1
Deadpool #3.1
Illuminati #2
Mighty Thor #2
Ms. marvel #2
Silk #2
Squadron Supreme #1
Starbrand & Nightmask #1
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #3
Uncanny Inhumans #3
Web Warriors #2
Weirdworld #1

This is a pretty good week IMO.

Good week, although I hate .1's

Damn, all the Scarlet Witch love was in this thread.

I thought the first issue was okay.... Didn't like the art except for the magic bits, and the dialogue was too much set up. Understandable, but nonetheless...

Really, really hoping it picks up in issue #2. Loved the preview art for that so much. Also sad that I couldn't get the Kevin Wada variant for #1. ): Kris Anka is doing a variant for #2 and I hope it's not as hard to get.
It will probably be equally hard or worse.

Also what is the point of spoiler tags for images if it doesn't work on mobile? Wouldn't be the first time some poor dude got burned thinking he was spoiler-protecting shit properly when he wasn't. :/

So Ultimate End shows that Miles,
his parents, Bombshell, Ganke and some other guy
make it to the New Marvelverse. Not Ult. C&D though because Slott.

Well, if they're willing to bring
Miles' mom back to life from this shit, hopefully they'll do the same for his villain uncle.

It's one of the only things actually compelling about Miles as a character, and they threw it away, just like they did nearly every other plot thread unique to him. Now that
ultimate May, Gwen, MJ and Peter are all gone
, maybe Miles can finally stand as an actual character of his own for once.

My daughter is super pissed off that her picture of Squirrel Girl didn't make the letters column in this months issue, but other kids did. I told her maybe they're saving it for next Halloween. :(

All New X-Men:
Fucking hell, Warren. Just let Wolverine do her thing- Logan would have killed you for that bullshit.

The Totally Awesome Hulk:
Oh man, Cho really sucks.
