Mafia 2 is one of my favourite games, but this looks... bland. Bad, even.
He is actually the worst.
City seems to have great atmosphere, although of course it's very cherry picked. PLEASE have a simulation car model like Mafia 2.
And they seriously kept that cars exploding on impact bullshit? Ugh.
You preferred 2 to 1?

Hm, interesting. Looks like a fairly competent third person shooter to me. Driving looks fun too, and the city's certainly beautiful.
The movement and combat looked like it was straight out of Uncharted.

Looking really good, those hit reactions on enemies when shot is nice.
(I never have any problems with IGN's player so it's weird so many here struggle with it.)

Not sure how you got that feeling from just that little bit of footage, we haven't seen much narrative stuff yet, unless I've missed it.
Pretty sure this is a comeback/revenge story.

They said that car explosions are rigged for the demo purposes.
I don't know what to say to be honest. Setting is awesome and characters look interesting but i still don't feel that Mafia vibe. I don't feel that game is about organized crime.
I think they should've stuck with the 40s/50s setting, looks good nonetheless though.
The dev said they've dialed cars blowing up on impact up for this demo, it won't be this extreme in the final game (around the 11:20 minute mark).

I mean the guy says straight up they just wanted to end their gameplay reveal with explosions and shit and that not every car would blow up like that in the release build.
I thought it looked great. Didn't play Mafia but I loved Mafia 2.
Do yourself a favour and go back and play it, one of the best games ever!

The setting looks great. Hope the rest of the game holds up.
Mafia gameplay not GTA in 70s gameplay. But i guess we need to see a bit more to judge it properly.
Alpha footage most likely, visually convincing if not impressive.
Gameplay is nothing ground-breaking or innovative, I liked Mafia II very much but found it inferior to the first one in pretty much every respect save for technology obviously.

Gotcha. So far the game is looking solid considering the massive issues that may have transpired on the dev side of things. Just hope the gameplay has variety and the story delivers in one way or another.
