He didn't look like he was ready for what Rey was offering. But I've only seen it once and it was a short scene, maybe I need to see it again.confused? I thought he looked overwhelmed with emotion..

Look, I'm cool for reading any of this stuff outside, but it really shouldn't be necessary for watching the film. This is especially since the filmmakers rarely take into account any of this stuff.
It was awesome, it's just how a normal person would react after a thing like that. Very genuine. Chemistry was off-the-hook in this movie. When they were in the Falcon and she was flying and he was shooting, and they immediately ran toward each other afterwards and were excitedly talking together in rapid succession while staring in each other's eyes.... One of the most real moments of chemistry in the franchise for me. It's real.
I dont see it happening but when I googled Poe Dameron earlier I noticed this was the first autofill option:I would like to be first to say that I think either Poe or Finn, or both... are gay.
I'm sure this will not be a popular opinion, but I honestly think Disney/Kennedy et al are going there.
Anyone with me?
I really wish they hadn't rushed this film. Such a garbage script. And all the locales/set-pieces were surprisingly uninspired and unimaginative, with the only exception being the crashed star destroyer.
Also Rey and Finn being able to handle Kylo was terrible... way to undercut your villain. Vader kicks Obi-Wan's ass, then he kicks Luke's ass in the first two movies. but two untrained kids playing with a toy can beat him? dumb
JJ is a hack but even then, I wanted to like it. meh.
I'm lost on the Artoo part. On one hand, there's a theory that Luke sensed Rey's awakening and Han's death and used the force to give Artoo the information that they needed. This is all well and fine but it just feels contradictory to the ending we see. Luke seems taken aback that Rey has found him and looks confused. Theorists, halp.
It's on Google play and Appe store, but I actually brought the hard copy from target. Is this released?
Edit: Not available on Kindle in Canada. Fucktards!
Yeah, it also played into the anger at Finn wanting to leave and join the pirates.
Abandonment issues.
In regards to her Mary Sue status, I think that it would have helped if they actually made Finn more competent as a character. Can't fly, lower understanding of tech, obviously no force, coward. Maybe decent blaster aim, but that's it.
Luke may have been just as good as Rey in ANH, but there was way more parity between him and Han then there was between Rey and Finn here. She took all the "cool" traits and items, he's left in a coma. I kinda left the theater feeling as though they purposefully wanted to emphasize her greatness over every single being in the story, and that Finn was mostly used as a plot-device to do that. The fact that he starts crushing on her almost immediately also lends itself to that. So now she's not only a great...everything...but we'll even use a sidekick to make sure that she looks ultra-desirable as well.
Kylo isn't Vader. He's an incompetent Vader wannabe. That is very intentional.

Rey isn't Luke, so why does R2 wake up. Unless R2 knows her from when Luke trained her. But still at that point it seems like a super weak plot point.
Did you miss the bart where Chewie shot him with a weapon that one shot kills everyone else it toiches and he was bleeding out? I doubt the fight would have ended the way it did if Kylo was not injured.I don't care how trained and street wise Rey is... you're going up against someone who's likely been trained all their life (child of two of rebellion's biggest war heroes, direct descendant of most powerful force user, trained by poor man's emperor/thanos), it just felt so contrived because 1. the film needed a lightsaber battle (star wars films gotta have a lightsaber battle) and 2. the good guys have to, kinda, win at the end of the first movie because... dramatic structures or a new hope or something idk.
it didn't have to play out that way but you could feel the plot being forced to
Do you have children? 7 years old watching 2 guys in love is really strange for them, lol.
But yeah, I could see Finn and Rey ending up together.
I love Noto art.
Uhhh, he was also the one who led the rescue of Rey and stood up to Kylo Ren despite not being a Jedi.I hate this background point SO much.
Basically makes him a joke from here on out...just for a quick laugh in the first movie.
And while it makes sense that soldiers have to do that kind of work, it's not made clear in the movie, and I feel like most of the audience just felt "haha black janitor".

Yea so just got done seeing it and dear god that was a huge piece of shit. I went in excited and hoping it would blow me away and dear god I was let down every way imaginable. For me Star Wars ended at 6 movies.
I really don't want Rey to be a Skywalker.
I really really really do not.
I think people forget that Rey knows how to handle herself. She's experienced with a staff.
Remember when Finn was going to "save" her from those thugs? She kicked their asses.
The comment about Ren as being a brute force fighter verses fully trained is 100% on point.
I thought they made Finn to look like a bit of chump overall. The black comedy stylings of black dude in film. I have a crush on Rey though I'm sure every male on the planet does.
Those are my thoughts. Good movie though I'm hoping they're playing the long game on Finn though and they have a lot more for him than second fiddle chumpboy who keeps getting his ass handed. But boy does he have heart!!?!?!11!!11
.
ya trashma def saved han, he's alive
or he's a clone, explains why he ain't ren's father
luke knows snoke found the wellspring, is immortal
danny devito is the ewok leader
I'm not big on Star Wars. I didn't know that's what she was doing.
A 70 year old man with no force ability:
1. Gets stabbed in the heart
2. Falls down a bottomless pit
3. Which promptly explodes along with the entire planet.
Dude's dead.
Plus, Kylo is never shown as a great sword fighter or something, his power is more towards mental tricks and Rey already owned him twice in that area. When he stopped to ask her about joining the Dark side it practically tilted the balance in her favor. Her brute use of the force it's obviously stronger when she's able to focus on it.
No your right, they shouldn't skip details in the movie, which is sad when they do. But the books are a nice read, that just add more insight to the universe.Look, I'm cool for reading any of this stuff outside, but it really shouldn't be necessary for watching the film. Kylo Ren was seriously injured. Both Ray and Finn were experienced in melee combat.
I don't see the issue.
This is my biggest beef with the film too. Especially after the hyping of Finn with a lightsabre in the pre-release media. The subtext of his useful point being with a gun to top of that keeps me from loving the film. I still like it, but the whole bait and switch feels cheap.
We already see Rey kicking ass at the beginning. That, coupled with bigtime Force awakening and Ren's injuries, give her an edge in lightsaber dueling.
Speaking of which, how did that fight end? It was tough to make out on the screen for some reason -- I thought she may have cut his hand off at first, but that didn't seem to be the case. And then others have said that she destroyed his lightsaber?
Oh yeah, didn't even think of that. He does toss it and that's the last we see of it.Yeah actually I wonder if he even took it with him out of the Death Star. My guess is no, at least there is no indication I can recall that he did. So I'm thinking the green saber is gone and he never made a new one, neither did any of his trainees. Hence the one Rey gives him is the one he'll use, unless he outright doesn't even want it.

I was really disappointed in the way they handled Captain Phasma. Thought we were finally going to get a badass female villain and they waste her. Hopefully she comes back in 8.
Also has anyone found out which planets were destroyed by Starkiller Base?

And he rescued Poe, which led to him also getting BB-8 with map to the Resistance.Uhhh, he was also the one who led the rescue of Rey and stood up to Kylo Ren despite not being a Jedi.
I like the Obi-Wan's granddaughter theory, but everything is pointing towards Rey being a Skywalker. They've said this was a series about family and the new movies being about their children just makes sense.
Did you miss the bart where Chewie shot him with a weapon that one shot kills everyone else it toiches and he was bleeding out? I doubt the fight would have ended the way it did if Kylo was not injured.
People can relax though. Im sure after Kylo completes his training he will give Rey the asswhooping everyone wants so bad.

Definitely. A lot of people simply wanted another Darth Vader. When it was revealed that Kylo wasn't that, they were disappointed.A lot of people seem to be pissed that Kylo Ren isn't as much of a badass as they imagined he'd be.
I really don't want Rey to be a Skywalker.
I really really really do not.
And I have no need for supermodels in Star Wars movies.
