I liked Mad Max more but I think it's a pretty valid opinion

It begins principal photography in less than 3 weeks. Scripted is locked. Pre-production complete. Sets built. That whole jazz.
It isn't a movie that is just in planning or just in pre-production at this point.
Episode 8 will be done filming in a matter of months from now.
If they move it they will be sitting on a fully complete movie for over 6 months. This isn't like the Episode VII delay where they scrapped the script and started over and delayed it back then in pre-production before it was even cast or anything.

Though I like ROTS, this always bums me out because you look at what the character is like in TPM and you go "what the fuck happened here?"

Was there a 1138 reference anywhere? If there was, I didn't catch it. All the other recurring stuff happened (Wilhelm scream/chase scene/monsters/someone falling down a pit/I have a bad feeling about this) but I didn't notice this one.
You think that's bad? I know a guy on a forum who thinks Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars film.

My thread was closed, whatever for me :

Holy Shit so much work for something they could have done cheaper and faster in CGI..I love itMaking of the Holochess sequence video. This is awesome. I assumed it was just CGI.
I preferred TFA to Mad Max too. Both were great.

Finn was also a trained soldier and most likely somewhat experienced in hand-to-hand combat. So it makes sense that he could at least last 30 seconds against a semi-trained, injured sith.
Also, Rey has to be Luke's daughter. First of all, the movies are about the Skywalkers primarily. Then you have the trailer with Luke's voiceover talking about the Force in his family.
Why? It's not like they are rushing this at all. It's not like they started it only after TFA was done. Rian Johnson was witting this well over a year ago while TFA was filming. All the pre-production work on it was being done while TFA post-production was going on.I dunno
I just got a bad feeling about this

Seriously I think a lot of people aren't really aware how deep into production Episode 8 is. Full principal photography is just a few weeks away, shoots in Jan.

I can't agree with anyone who won't rank Clones as the last movie.

Anyone else feel like PT is better than TFA? Not saying I do.
That's not the way less than / greater than works going by your thread. And what's ANW and CW? Take a breath for Christ's sake.My thread was closed, whatever for me :

I giggled when he took off his helmet because for half an instant I thought it was Andy Samberg and thus the biggest troll on any fan of anything ever.

Clone wars was bad but Phantom Menace introduced Jar Jar Bings and Young Anakin.

By the way, I totally think Episode VIII is gonna get bumped to Dec. 2017.
I feel like May would be too close for comfort
It's out in a year and a half. Rian Johnson wrote the movie last year through part of this year. And pre-production work has been going on since this summer. Already shot a few on location scenes for 8 a month back. What!? That's crazy. I mean, I guess I knew it was releasing in 2 years but I figured it still had a few months of pre-production to go through before filming started.
I have an ominous feeling that Star Wars might lose some of its magic once we're inundated with a new one every year.

The perfect Mary Sue, her character is absolutely the reflect of the cinema for the last 5 years now when all the girls have to be more powerful than boys for a reason but she failed as a character where Furiosa on Mad Max succeed.
"CW" is Clone Wars, which is the TV show. The movie is AOTC, and it is the worst.

And it didn't have the cheesiest attempt at romance ever put on screen.Phantom Menace had a cooler looking villain, better final lightsaber duel, a sweet podracing scene, and didn't try to ride on Empire Strikes Back'ss thematic coat tails.

There was a theatrical Clone Wars movie.

Your friend is right.

Sith is even with TFA for me but I think the PT presents more interesting concepts than TFA does. TFA is just too much of a rehash for me.
I agree that Mad Max Fury Road is better than TFA. Even though Fury Road is a sequel to the previous films, no previous knowledge was needed to fully understand or enjoy it. OTOH, TFA has so many unanswered questions that either were not answered or require some obscure EU source that IMO makes it insular and hostile to SW newcomers.
