Thanks! That looks very close, but it still seems like something in jshackles shot still a bit better.

It might just be a simple adjustment of the values, but I'd like to hear from jshackles his settings. Looks so much better than vanilla though in both cases.

Cheers.

It's actually a different (new) mod than the one Sch1sm linked.

Here is what you need

Extract the files to your Final Fantasy 6 installation and run the exe to patch the game.

Holy shit.
You're right.

So many games with 15.2 hours spent on them...

The baffling thing is his account was made in 2003. He's in exactly a thousand groups and has exactly a hundred games. That profile description. There's a +rep comment in his profile, so I guess he's a trader or else selling his reviews, too. Oh and he uses SAM. (Check his CS:GO achievements and playtime). And then check his playtime in the last two weeks.

It's just bizarre all around.

Super House of Dead Ninjas is my go to cheap game about going downwards quickly whilst killing shit.

Thank you but I already own the game it is FANTASTIC please guys play this is a really good game now I like Downwell but Super House of Dead Ninjas is overall better IMO please pick this up you will enjoy this.

Any recommendations for me? Recent-ish games I've played on steam and enjoyed were Grandia II, all the UmiharaKawase games, Remember Me, and Resident Evil 5. I'm gonna get some more monies soonish so I want to have some things to think about.

Can I get anymore recommendations? :D

Final Fantasy VI without the bilinear filter on the characters looks pretty damn amazing.

I honestly don't know what Square Enix was thinking.

That actually looks pretty good. What the hell. The filter they used made the sprites look much worse than they actually were.

Can I get anymore recommendations? :D
Right off the bat, if you haven't play RE4 PC edition then get that ASAP. It's RE5 but goood.

Now...

CLICK THE GIRL

It's from the people that made Remember Me. Note that Life is Strange is an adventure game, so it plays very different from RM but retains the focus on atmosphere, storytelling, and world-building.

CLICK THE ORC

Before Half-Life 2 was cool there was Dark Messiah. It's like HL2 except fantastic...al.

CLICK BIG BO

Binary Domain is a Japanese take on Gears of War and oh my gawd is it amazing.

Can I get anymore recommendations? :D

If you like adventure games, Life is Strange is a great game by the makers of Remember Me. Tales from the Borderlands is also a great game if you're into those.

Maybe the Alan Wake games? I loved those.

Edit: I also second the Binary Domain recommendation above me.

What was gaf's opinion on Chroma squad? Looks like a pretty fun game, but haven't heard it talked about and its not on Toma's indie list so I wasn't sure.

I wonder if there's a reason why Steam doesn't think that I already own Painkiller: Black Edition.

Gotta say going from the positive talk, I think locking the other thread and coming in here during sales has been a success so far.

Indeed. We old-timers would be wallowing in the lack of dailies etc around about now, and gifs of you-know-what would be abundant.

So very nice to see so many new faces from a SteamGAF perspective (although I'll go on record as saying I love all flavours of SteamGAF, even on its, umm, lesser days).

Hi everyone, and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays etc. :)

I'm trying to fathom it myself. None of his reviews have more than 1 or 2 "likes" so it can't be to drive traffic anywhere.

I figure it wouldn't be about people seeing them, but influencing the "Positive/Negative" percent on the top of the Steam page. Overall, that's more useful than individual reviews for eyeballing games that are horrid vs. ones worth a customer's time. It's also something visible outside the store page itself. After all, the only thing worse than bad reviews is no reviews.

Now, of course, if these are bought reviews, then they can bomb indies that decline their generous offer with negative reviews. Even five bots like this could heavily influence a small game's rating. And extra copies given to these "reviewers" can go into straight the grey market.

A wild frost suddenly appears!

And you say, "Hey Frost! Where ya been?"

That's right, boys and girls, gather round while uncle Frost brings you more tales of actually playing games!

Not as bad as I thought it would be, all things considered. :)
The framerate was rather solid after all the patching and my upgrade to a gtx970. Mostly 60 with a few dips here and there into the mid to low 50s. The story was solid, the combat was similar but upgraded, just about what you'd expect. The season pass content was a bit light in spots... a lot of the "campaigns" are just a few fights/predator areas back to back with a few cutscenes... nothing overly involved. The stuff they just added yesterday was kind of nice -- a lot of free upgrade points too if you need them -- though they're also short; but at least they're available in the normal game as Batman. I was also glad to see that the crazy sets of DLC achievements had been toned down (there's a reason I have 100% of the main achievements for AC but not many if any at all for the DLC stuff... I just had no interest in doing the crazy number of challenges necessary consider how similarly a lot of the characters played there). One thing that bugs me a bit though -- my showcase shows I have 1 missing skin; it looks like it's supposed to be a Batman skin, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is... google returns a bunch of results that seem to indicate others have had this problem for awhile at various stages of the DLC being released...

Anyway, it was a good swan song to the series. I kind of hope they give the games a rest now, as I was a bit overloaded after AC and because of that it took me a bit to get into AO and now finally AK.

Ask for review keys -> resell spares to make a profit -> plagiarize the reviews to keep up the illusion and keep getting keys

Yep, I think Stump has nailed it - I can't see any other possible justification for making this kind of effort to look 'legit'. I wonder if this fella has a token YouTube channel or blog or something alongside this? Bit harder to fake that though, I guess.

man, no dailies really takes all the excitement out of it :l

Beyond that, it seems to have given the publishers cold feet as to how deep the discounts should run. Apparently leaving something on sale for more than 48h is a big red flag or something. :lol

Seriously, there's so much on my wishlist that isn't on sale or has some discount at 50% or less... same as the Fall sale for most titles. I appreciate that there's an easy way to get some free card drops, but outside of that, this is just as disappointing as the last sale.

Now, of course, if these are bought reviews, then they can bomb indies that decline their generous offer with negative reviews. Even five bots like this could heavily influence a small game's rating. And extra copies given to these "reviewers" can go into straight the grey market.

Hmph. I don't appreciate the stunts these clowns are pulling. It gives the legitimate Steam-reviewers a bad name.

durante fix and only ever play with a controller and it's fine.
It's Dark Souls, I hear that game is pretty good.

Literally one of the best games of all time, but not for everyone.

If you don't have a controller, refund it.

It is the best one out of the series.

Some would say it's the best game of last generation. Hyperbole aside, it's really good. You might look into the mods that bring the PC version up to snuff.
Got a controller (DS4 from my PS4). The problem is, it doesn't recognize it... Even with DS4windows.
