Emily Rogers: Nintendo Working on Unannounced Wii U Game [Update: Paper Mario]

Honestly, I hope it's not Pikmin 4. Although, I do think they announced this game a while back. I just don't think the Wii U needs another Pikmin game right now, that won't move consoles. I want something new and something big.

Funny, because I don't trust Dr. Cupcakes, I partially trust Emily Rogers and I do trust ShockingAlberto.

I'm expecting mediocre things?

Ok, fair enough, those Metroid fans deserve a new game if they take it that seriously.

A gameshow based on the Metroid universe hosted by an outgoing flirtatious Samus.

Really? Teasing a rumour? What's the point of this?

Also, I hope this isn't something big. Nintendo should save their big hitters for NX, where they can actually make a difference.

Metroid X. Samus lands on Planet Mira and when I say Samus I mean a customisable avatar because it's Xenoblade X2 starring Mega Man X from Mega Man X2. It's also Pikmin 4 and Diddy Kong Racing 2 and Paper Mario The Thousand Year Wait for a Proper Sequel.

I kinda hope it's not a huge series, because they're gonna need those big guns for whatever the fuck the NX is.

Yep. It would be wise to save big guns like Metroid for NX.

Maybe something like Punch Out. Love the one on Wii. The animations really gave the characters personality.

I mean, Pikmin 4 hasn't been talked about too much outside of Miyamoto casually confirming it, and assuming it's a Wii U title, it's the only other game supposedly coming to the system that hasn't been announced. My money's on that, unless the Diddy Kong Racing 2 rumor was actually legit.

"We have reason to believe that Nintendo is working on a game that may or not feature one of their famous characters, such as Mario.

If our sources are correct, the game will feature some sort of Amiibo functionality.

The game will come on a disc, and will be sold for money"

Ah, I see. Yeah, maybe HOL can clarify for us, but my understanding based on that was that only some of the characters had their rights in limbo but not the title itself....

If Nintendo can't make a game called Diddy Kong Racing, maybe that one Microsoft Exec really did get their wish.

If it's a franchise that has fans, it has to be a franchise that hasn't yet hit on Wii U, what will be the point of releasing yet another iteration of an existing franchise when NX is around the corner?

I think Diddy Kong Racing or Animal Crossing U seem fairly plausible. Both should be rather inexpensive to make compared to other larger titles, and should each shift a fair number of units. At this point, the only games to continue development are more core titles that your current user base will eat up - and ones that aren't $$ to develop.
