The Division - 15 minutes of new gameplay

Why are they called "player bracket" are only shown in the dark zone AND the devs+youtubers said those brackets exist?

I coulldn't tell you why they're called player bracket just as I couldn't tell you why the demos are capped or why the Level 20 gameplay was called "high level gameplay" when it's supposedly 10 levels lower than the release level cap.

I haven't heard any players or any devs say they exist. I've read interviews where they stated at Level 30 the DZ changes and that enemies get stronger the further North you proceed within the DZ. I haven't heard any Devs states otherwise in any of the gameplay videos nor have I heard Youtubers mention it.

I was just watching a video of the Collector's Edition unboxing and noticed the watch you get is supposed to be a replica of the one the agents use in-game and saw this:

and obviously they changed it. I really wish they kept that in now, it looks awesome. Reminds me of the Dead Space UI.

Yeah, this is far superior visually.

Perhaps the devs themselves are to blame for that with the moronic E3 2015 demo where a group enters the Dark Zone, gets help from another group but then decide to fuck over this group by killing them and stealing their loot, and then have the main player fuck over his own group by team killing everyone and steal their loot as well.

It's interesting how the gameplay demo they officially released has the part where the player betrays and kills everyone cut out.

Yeah, definitely not going to solo and match with randoms. Could I even trust Gaffers!?

However usability is significantly worse. Probably why they changed it.

I can confirm, having played the game i can already tell what they have in the game is, in terms of usability, vastly superior.

Actually, i played some Division.. somewhat recently and even though i played on the XB1 Alpha, i had forgotten how good the game feels.

Looking forward to release :)

It's weird, I've never know a HUD to get downgraded.

While visually superior, a menu like this is also a nightmare to navigate. Especially considering the game doesn't pause when you enter the menu.

Imagine using this menu on the fly in the middle of a firefight where you want to change gear and ability.. You basically have to memorize the entire menu layout to be able to navigate through it quickly.

The Dark Zone is a mixed bag imo. Pvp is fine. I like non-standard pvp. It reminds me of a giant game of Hostage Rescue, expect with high level weapons. Still not sure how you'll manage high level griefers all the using the op setup of the week camping chokeholds or caches though.

The main issue I have is TvT. It's dumb. It will never not be dumb. Your trying to force fragile alliances into a game mode with no major consequences if you die. You only lose time, and gain all the loot if successful. That only works if there's a risk. In the end, I can't see this being anything but a punishment for those that don't always have a stable team of 4 to play with.

I've started to switch to PS4 for multiplats as the controller got more comfortable the more I used it.

I use a fps freak....on the right stick only but yes....once you get used to it...Its a really good controller. Just feels like build quality could be improved.

Accepted your request

Nice.
My issue with it is the left hand grips differently due to the LS's position, and I'd get this weird discomfort accompanied by a mild burning sensation in the left palm after 15 minutes lol, but it's gotten a lot better.
You're getting the beta on PS4, I assume? I dunno if I want to even download it on XBO, because I'd have to start all over the next day on PS4.
They said there's gonna be a 48-hr prior pre-load period, right?

im not concerned visually with this game, it just needs to play well and the loot needs to be somewhat fair.

any word when the BETA starts?

I think so.....also I had the opposite effect. Xbox controller caused numbness due to extending my thumb father out lol. I don't have that issue anymore.

I may download the X1 client just to grab a few direct screenshots and footage to compare.

But I'm pretty sure digital foundry will be doing that.....so I'll probably just wait a day. So far yes it's a 48 hour preload

I have the same problem now with the X1 controller my hand goes numb and I get pain in my thumbs. I played 90% of my games on 360 last gen too. No pain at all on DS4.

The lighting in that video looks flat to me, the garage the dude walks into about 2 minutes in should be darker then that.

It remidns me a LOT of The Crew's year 1 visuals in lighting which was also flat and washed out.

Yeah, you're right. I keep hoping it's not going to ship like that but considering who it is...

Is he over leveled in that video? Taking enemies out real quick.

he was level 6...level 5 enemies...I believe the gun he used the majority of the time was a green level 7 assault rifle (?)

that's why I don't put a lot of stock into the "bullet sponge" talk because if you're getting better equipment and weapons and keeping track of your stats and the like then you shouldn't really have too much trouble with anyone except the "elite" enemies and the other players if you PVP

Huh, the enemies seem to at similar levels to the player, but their time to kill seemed really short. Even the purple bar guy didn't seem to take much damage before going down.

Nice vid. The enemies don't seem to be as spongy as has been stated.

Yeah this vid is a bit odd compared to what we've seen previously.. Enemies are 5, he's 6 and it looks like the M4 he's using is Level 7 if that's what the number next to it means.

That's the same problem that Watch Dogs, AC Syndicate, and AC Black Flag have. Perhaps dynamic lighting is the culprit. They look hella flat and to my understanding they are all interrelated engines that share some modular engine parts at their foundation. Unity managed to knock it out of the park with amazing GI, dynamic atmospheric simulations like clouds and fog, and great contrast/color elements.

The only saving grace for The Division having a less flat look is PBR I guess. And you can negate that feeling a little bit by upping display contrast.

He was solo, in most other vids the people were in groups I think. So it's possible that enemies have more HP / Defense when fighting in a group. Stopped playing Destiny almost a year ago, but it was the same there if I remember correctly. At least their own damage output was increased. But that's just an idea, I didn't really take attention to lvls/weapons in other videos.

The snowing looks so glorious in that video, damn.
Yep the snow setting, Xmas lights and Black Friday are a big selling point for me as crazy as that might sound. If the beta is descent which I'm sure it will be I'll be pre ordering this digital right after!!

Reshade will fix that or a good ENB, Hopefully. The vid was nice. Also there is a 20 min xbox one video there too.
