Yeah I don't know how people can say the model is the same. Guile looked like ass in SF4 and the photo alone is better than his SF4 model as a whole.

It's not ignorant, it's an integral part of the game, not DLC or anything, and it's not done. Yet they are shipping the game as complete anyways, not calling it "Early Access" or "Beta". Doesn't matter if it takes time and effort, so does the rest of the game. Would you be happy if they left multiplayer out of the game, and only shipped that as a free update months later?

I think to some people it is. However, it is free if I am to understand correctly, so there is that.
It's actually the very definition of DLC. They even call it an expansion.

Now it is, they were hyping up the story mode for quite a while, this is a step short of a bait and switch. People expect a full product at launch and they were expecting this to be part of it. I'm not too bothered but defending this is really lame. I'll give them credit for announcing it a month ahead of release though instead of being super dirty and just launching without saying a word to keep some pre order sales.
Would you be happier if they delayed the game? The end result would still be the same, except now we actually get to play multiplayer which is the main focus of the game.

I don't think there's anything to defend. There are two story modes. Complete with voices, art (however questionable in quality) by a classic capcom artist for every single character in the game at launch. That alone is more than we've ever received in an SF game.
Later we're getting a fully animated story mode.
I don't know what the definition is of a full product anymore when developers are constantly adding things to a game. My definition is whether or not I'm willing to pay for what's at launch for the price they're asking. If people don't like that they don't get their hour of cutscenes, then just wait until it's done. You can get the game a bit cheaper 4 months down the line.

So, not only are we getting 2 stories, but we're getting the second story later (Meaning they might add a short story each season)? Awesome! I'd say that it's already looking better than MKX's story, but that wouldn't be too hard...
And as for the woman in the Ushanka, I'm split between her being Decapre or a brand-new fighter. I know Kolin can easily just change her hairstyle and outfit, but the face doesn't really look like her, either.

Its pretty much a non-issue brought up by people who most likely aren't going to buy the game. Heck whatever news we get people are going to complain. I am glad the game is coming out early instead of waiting on them to finish making some cutscenes.

It looks nothing like Kolin, and we have a clear shot of Decapre still in her doll uniform and mask already in the trailer. Plus, Decapre's face is burned on one side, which is why she wears the mask in the first place.

I can see a new story mode expansion dropping early 2017 involving the rest of the first wave of DLC characters (maybe even a couple from the second wave).
This guy gets it. Above all else, Capcom has been pushing the eSports aspects of Street Fighter V. Delaying it over a cinematic story mode would completely screw over the momentum of those plans, especially if it meant that SFV would miss a ton of tournaments (including EVO, which would be bad news).

No, I agree with you. They seem to be giving most characters Alpha alts and it seems Guile is no exception. I fully believe Guile's default will be a new design.

In this case, single player with storyline has been in the game since the first Street Fighter, just not at this level - it has slowly gotten better with each new game. But Capcom *has* been promising that SFV's story sequences would rival the competition's (MKX).
Street Fighter 1 (Fighting Street on Turbografx) was obviously designed as a single player game first of all, when playing multiplayer there was no character select: one person was only Ryu, the other player only Ken, they both had the same moves (because in the game's main mode, it was just Ryu against all the enemies; thus for two player they just palette-shifted him and gave him a new name). Final Fight was supposed to be the sequel to the game, another game based around single player (but with co-op added). Street Fighter 2 continued the limited multiplayer, not allowing the two players to choose the same character nor being balanced for multiplayer play at all (two things that were changed in Championship Edition).
Don't get me wrong, multiplayer is an important part of the game and series of course, but it's not the only important part of the game, and there are many of us out there who mainly play Street Fighter games for their single player mode. And SFV's big new thing for single player was supposed to be these cool story sequences.

Regardless the story content isn't done, they either delay the game which would be incredibly stupid or release it now with the story content later. The first option is better in every way, no matter how much you complain the story content isn't going to be done by the original release date.

So call it what it is, Early Access or Beta. Go back just a few years and they *would* have delayed the game as incomplete, just like plenty of games have been delayed until they got online multiplayer working though the local multiplayer and single player was complete and polished. Just because everyone won't use a planned and advertised feature doesn't mean the game is complete when that feature isn't done yet.

Yes, that small. The amount of people who play SF for story mode is absolutely minimal compared to the amount who play it for the multiplayer.
Just because they have decided to start putting an effort into that mode with 5, doesn't suddenly mean it was that way before.

God damn did Guile have a bad face in SF4.
Guile looks miles better in that SFV pic than his SFIV model. I'm glad to see them doing a good job at modeling these characters.

Only 3-5 hours? I buy Street Fighter games for dozens of hours of single-player versus AI. Once in a while I'll play local multiplayer with a friend or coworkers, but most of my play will be single player. I have one friend and one coworker who play similarly (I also have one coworker who will *only* play multiplayer).
